  1. lol. no he won't. He has to spend time to get his staff together which must be done now and recruiting. Looks like Husker_fan needs to insert foot into mouth... http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/10512028 Too bad you didn't have the balls to post before it came out plus it only shows that T.O. is the only AD in the country to get it. That makes no sense. How can I predict the future and know he's going to coach or not and that an article is going to come out and prove you wrong? It looks like your attempt of predicting the future went wrong, . I was just showing you a story that proved your "lol, no he won't...." comment was wrong and that at the time you seemed to think who ever was arguing otherwise was an idiot. Well sir, you are the idiot. Oh man, i will lay it out for you: 1. when a coordinator is hired as a head coach for another job they more than often don't go back to their old team for the bowl game. 2. this post had been up at least a day and a half and you did not post so when you also had the same view or none and when you did post to stick it to me. 3. Yes Bo will now be the D coordinator on the sidelines but the article also hinted at that if nothing comes up. 4. No i don't think they are an idiot it's just that they had no other reason why he would be back other than saying he would be back on the sidelines and i wanted to know why they thought differently. 5. don't take internet forums too seriously.

  3. Do you really think 2 of the 3 have a reasonable shot at it? Mizzou was actually picked to lose to OU despite being the #1 team in the country. This is where the real sham occurs. How in the heck can you be the #1 team in the country if you're picked to lose within your own conference? How can you put KU in a BCS game, but not put Mizzou in one after they beat them head to head? IMO, neither KU or Mizzou deserves a BCS bowl. Neither of them are that good. I do favor a playoff system. 2 of the hottest teams right now have very little shot. We may have a co champion again this year, but USC or Georgia is going to have to totally dominate in their bowl games. It is a sham that Ohio State gets into the title game. The only ranked team they played they lost. They along with Hawaii and KU have the weakest schedules this year. If the BCS isn't abandoned and we don't go to a playoff, I suggest Nebraska breaks away from the Big 12. We might as well become an Independant, and then schedule the softest possible schedule out there. Personally, I'm glad all of this has happened. It proves once again that the BCS is just crap. When the BCS was formed, it was supposed to eliminated co NC by putting #1 against #2. How many times have we had co NC's since it was formed? Now compare that percentage to what it was before the BCS crap. IMO, it's quite easy what needs to be done. Take the top 8 teams. Use the BCS bowls we already and use them as playoff games. You can keep rotating the NC game as being the final playoff game. Instead of having a month off, those 8 teams start the playoff. I don't see why there wouldn't be just as much money there as there is now. I mean how high are the ratings really going to be for the BCS bowl that has Hawaii in it? How many people are really going to watch the BCS bowl KU is in? Neither deserve to be there. Dude seriously lay down the crack pipe. ok. There is nothing you can do about the schedule and conference one plays in. Right now i think the Pac-10 doesn't want anymore teams to avoid a conference championship. So what is Hawaii suppose to do when they can only be in a conference that wants them. Plus schedules are made years in advance and you can only schedule when a team is open. Schedule wise there really is nothing you can do if a good team doesn't want to play you. If Nebraska breaks off and becomes an indepedent they CAN'T just schedule weak opponents because they wouldn't get ranked. Notre Dame is the only team that plays the hardest schedule and get away with it because they are independents. Every year ND plays certain teams. Plus they have the only exclusion in the BCS. If they are ranked 8th or higher i believe they get an automatic BCS bid. Nebraska would have to play a pretty damn hard schedule if they became independent. bowls drive in money for the towns hosting it. That is why you see bowl games in El Paso, TX and such.
  4. yeah but still, when you have someone leave that has been with you all season the players may get a little down. I could see them winning it if they had Bo but w/o him kinda hard to pick them.
  5. yeah but money also makes everything worse too, especially when you get companies involved. I think a lot of the non major bowls don't have that bowl feel to them anymore because they are named stupid by companies. Hell i can barely watch the super bowl and that's if i am at home cause if im not i wouldn't even watch it lol. This year i think the bowl games are gonna have the lowest tv rating cause a lot of bowls don't have good matchups. It's a shame that all the conferences see is money cause college is starting to be like the nfl which is barely viewable at all.
  6. lol. no he won't. He has to spend time to get his staff together which must be done now and recruiting.
  7. Yep next thing you know Vince Young wins the Heisman.
  8. Well since Bo Pelini is the new Nebraska coach, i don't think LSU will win over Ohio State. Why? You just can't replace a DC at the end of the year and expect same results. Especially one who gets fiery on the sidelines as Bo does. Since most people knew Bo was gonna leave they should've given Oklahoma a shot at playing for the NC instead. Remember when USC whipped Oklahoma. Yeah some of his coordinators left before the final game. LSU's D won't be the same and won't play like it. They sure as hell better hope that whoever they get to replace Bo is half as good as Bo.
  9. Just wait til Hawaii play, if they beat Georgia then this whole non-sense about teams from lesser conferences getting BCS bids, they can finally shut their mouth.
  10. I don't see that. There are 4 teams ranked ahead of them even after tonight. LSU has the best shot to get into the MNC. Georgia and Kansas both did not play in their respective Conf Championship Game and after the debacle with Nebraska in 01, voters won't allow it to happen again. LSU also beat VaTech by 41pts so obviously LSU wins the head-to-head match. I will not be surprised if the MNC is an Ohio St vs LSU matchup. Or, it's quite possible OU makes a big move up the rankings after beating Mizzou. Actually, They let an Oklahoma team play for the NC after they loss the Big 12 championship game against Kansas state. There is no rule you have to play for your conference champonship. Hawaii has the biggest complaint since they are 12-0. And they also let NU play for it when they didnt even make it but thats not the point.. Never said there are "rules" to get into the NC game but pollsters will vote LSU ahead of GA and Kansas. If you saw Missouri got smoked by OU. Kansas would have been worse. GA isnt that good and have had an easy schedule. VT got ridden over by LSU earlier in the season. All of these things will be taken into account when the pollsters vote. Oh and Hawaii doesnt have room to say anything. They are 12-0 Yes but they also are ranked 119th in the nation in SOS. if they played ina tougher conference they would probably lose 3 games. Brennan is a solid QB but their conference in absolutely horrid. All your points are invalid for the following reasons: 1. early losses don't matter as much as late season ones. Everyone knows that how you played in september doesn't mean you play the same in october or november. Take nebraska as an example. We did good until october came around and we got smacked around. 2. GA plays in the SEC, the same conference mighty LSU plays in. 3. I seem to remember a team from a crappy conference beating a good team from a pretty good conference. Oh what was the name.....oh yeah Boise State. Then a couple of years before that Utah. 4. VT won their conference and are ranked higher but started to play a lot better late in the season and they beat a higher ranked opponent. Look at Miss State, another SEC team, they got blew out by LSU in the first game but managed to go 7-5 and make it to a bowl.
  11. Yes my god this is what has been on my mind since i heard that his salary is secret. Now i can now breathe easier and live life and not worry about important things.
  12. Why should you?? IT IS A RIVALRY GAME!! We all know in a rivalry game you can throw everything out. Once again people at ESPN talking crap. lol.
  13. Because the AP top 25 no longer factors into the rankings. Plus if they put LSU and USC in then they show that they shouldn't even be voting anyways.
  14. playoff system still won't settle it. People will complain and moan more that their team didn't get in and be back at the same spot we are now. What you do is take all the conference champions put in a ping pong lottery system so that no voting takes place and people can't complain. You would keep using the ping pongs til you are down to the last two teams and they play for the NC. That would be the dumbest thing ever Care to explain why or do you prefer complaining and moaning on how their team didn't get in? Most complain that certain teams get more votes because of their conference or their preference, mine would eliminate all that. keeping it in voters hands is stupid because of bias. Face it should a two loss team get in when there is plenty of one loss teams that should get a shot?
  15. I concur with your thoughts. I really did not think that Pellini was a serious possibility, but now it looks more likely. I'm not necessarily on board with the idea that Osborne will make a sound decision . . . after all, he is 0-1 when it comes to selecting head coaches. Pellini has never headed up a program before, and this is looking more and more like Solich revisted. Question: I heard this asked yesterday on 1620, and I thought it was a provocative question. If Scott Frost would have had the same resume as Turner Gill, would he have been more readily selected? This is a very uncomfortable thing, but is Gill going to be rejected based upon the color of his skin? They are crazy about him at Buffalo. If you are gonna count anything against T.O., count HIM recommending Pederson for getting Nebraska into this mess in the first place. No one knows what would've happened if Solich stayed. If you say we wouldn't gone anywhere, well it is nice to sit there and daydream isn't it?
  16. well he also didn't screw Pitt like he did us either.

  18. that is all pederson does is extend contracts regardless of performance
  19. If Joe Pa and Bobby Bowden are not too old to coach then neither is T.O. Yes i know they don't run everything as much but they still have input when things go bad.
  20. Probably some other less important position. I don't think there would be a team out there to let him have the reigns at DC again after Nebraska.
  21. Ya know 4 years down the road and he doesn't screw up Pitt like Nebraska i think there will be some very interesting questions about why did so good with Pitt but yet screwed up his alma mater. I couldn't imagine how you can run AD at other schools and do good but yet screw up your own? I'm guessing some of it might have been retaliation for his treatment when he was starting out and..? Just a hunch..(Back to rumorville?) I got nuthin' Starting out as AD or starting out his career?

  23. Yeah and if he doesn't turn it around in four years....fire his ass!!!!! lol jk But at least we will have a D that matches our O.
  24. I don't know about Sherman, but details are emerging in the Arkansas media showing that Nutt was in negotiations with Ole Miss for weeks prior to the hire... Exactly. Ole Miss got who they wanted and didn't mess around. For years there was speculation that Nutt would be gone in Arkansas and he left before they fired even though he still had another season.
