Rash decisions? Look since T.O. took over he has known when cally was fired and according to recent posts it was 3 weeks before the season was over. With so many job openings it's better to get the person you want rather than the person you are left to get. All these openings means that the interviewee has more leverage than Nebraska does when getting a new hc. Whoever T.O. hires there will be hesitation until after a couple of seasons has gone by and there will be people complaining on whoever is hc.

Remember Tom had a search firm working on his list for some time before he fired Callahan finding out who is REALLY interested in the job. Also, he wants a coach that wants to coach at Nebraska, not just where ever he could get a good salary. Having said that, the coach Tom is looking for will wait for the interview and the job offer. He may already have an understanding with someone already interviewed. He may also, through the search firm, have an understanding with someone who hasn't finished their season and will be interviewed next week. For instance, Kelly says he hasn't been contacted by Nebraska, nor has his AD. They didn't say the search firm hasn't contacted them and an arrangement made for them to be contacted by NU next week after their season. So, don't get excited. Hold Your Horses!!!!! Well did you see how quick Houston Nutt got a new job??? And Mike Sherman. Right now i don't think that Nebraska is a desirable job as it once was. Basically the whole team will have to get adjusted to new schemes for offense and defense and that takes time. A lot of coaches might not want to do that. I think the days of coaches staying at one school are long gone. let me give an example: Say your a coach who is looking for another job and have been contacted by nebraska and interviewed and another school comes a long and offers you a hc job because they went to you first because they wanted you and interviewed nobody else. Now most people would pick the job that only talked to him because they wanted and not the job they might get if all the other interviews suck. I see only Turner Gill waiting for the job because he played here. I don't see any other coach getting interviewed and not promised a job to turn down a another coaching position guaranteed.

I mean each new day there is another job opening and with nebraska coming off of Satan's tenure need to name somebody quick so they might not go somewhere else. I know he has to have in mind someone and i think only Turner Gill would get a fair shot at it because he is a former husker and would be given more time specially under T.O. but i do think that Bo Pelini or someone else would get us back to butt kicking a lot faster. So whoever he picks i just hope they are still around when he makes his decision.

Actually just take all the conference champions from each conference and let that be your playoff. Then you put the conference champs into a lottery of balls that swish around and the two balls that pop out they play each other. then you keep doing this until you are left with two teams so no one can complain they didn't play some team and thus had an easier road. problem solved.

Why should they have a title game? It seems to me that the Big 10, Pac 10 and Big East made the right move by not having one. Guess what if Ohio State gets into the NCG then Illinois gets to go to the Rose Bowl. 2 Big 10 teams in the top 4 bowls. Sounds pretty good to me. When has anything in life been fair? Never has and never will. Missouri could get to the NCG if they beat Oklahoma and West Virginia by beating Pittsburgh. If two teams from the BCS conferences didn't lose people wouldn't be crying about it. Also the Big 10 starts their season early so last week would've been the Big 10 CCG. The Big 10 has too much power to be made to do anything they don't want to do. Why don't the Big 12, SEC, and ACC not have a CCG and quit crying already.

which is also a BCS conference!!!! yes and my point was that the Big East is a rather weak BCS conference, if the Big East is BCS worthy ten why not the WAC or the Mountain West? Well you forget that the Big East used to have miami, virginia tech, boston college. Just because a conference is weak doesn't mean that a team from there isn't any good. the wac and the mountain west weren't included because at the time the MWC didn't exist and the WAC was a weak conference. Just that they haven't been included yet because of the big conferences. Not their fault. I think hawaii would love a shot at the NCG.

I'm getting really tired of hearing about weak conferences. I mean i seem to remember Utah taking Pittsburgh out behind the woodshed and Boise State beating Oklahoma. Both those teams play in Non-BCS conferences and in weak conferences and yet somehow they seem to beat the big boys at their own game.

soo.. let's send Colorado to the NC instead.. ok? perfect i wouldn't mind seeing missouri in the game.. when i went down there this year, i sat next to missouri fans.. former students that graduated w/n the past 2 years.. they were nothing but nice.. they talked with us the whole time and never started saying f#*k nebraska or throwing anything at us at all.. i would like to see mizzou there also because its a big 12 NORTH team.. and i do NOT want OSU there.. the do NOT deserve it.. but they'll get it if mizzou loses.... Well be prepared for West Virginia vs Ohio State in the NC.

The problem is nobody in the big 12 listens to nebraska. Im pretty sure they really don't care either. Nebraska was the only team to vote against a title game during the big 12 formation. Also conferences must have 12 teams to have a conference title game so conferences like Pac-10 and Big 10 avoid this because they don't have enough teams. Every team plays 12 regular season games anyways. Hell i remember in 2002 season nebraska played 15 games(including bowl) while everybody played 12. Really though it is time Nebraska ditched the Big 12 conference since we are never listen to anyways. Best fit would be the Big 10 conference. If we left the Big 12 conference it would also give Nebraska the opportunity to schedule Oklahoma every year as a non-conference game and restart the rivalry.

Exactly. People are still probably thinking it was karma that Callahan didn't work out after Solich was fired for winning 9 games. Speaking of karma, wouldn't it be a fine thing if Osborne reinstated his old pal, Frank Solich? LOL atleast we wouldn't be having losing seasons and missing bowl games. lol.

Don't you know the #1 and #2 spots in the BCS are cursed until the bowl games?? Don't get too cocky yet. Oklahoma is a much better team than Kansas is and of course you already know that. Did you see that beat down Oklahoma put on Ok State? Plus Sam Bradford looked good in the game. If anything has taught us this season is that being ranked #1 or #2 is not a sure thing. Especially if you get that #2 spot better start praying. lol.

Yes and that is all the more reason to get rid of callahan so nebraska football can be about football again. Whatever players are saying this need to quit playing then especially being at nebraska.

Wow those must be some nice blinders on. can i have a pair? First of all if he would admit they need to get better and quit saying they are doing their best would go a long way. Two if callahan acted like a coach and fired his dumb ass DC like any other coach would he probably wouldn't be playing his last game on friday. No sh#t. All the Big 8 teams got told what to do by the 4 texas teams and i will never understand that. the texas teams needed the Big 8 more than the Big 8 needed them. All the Big 8 got was 1 good texas team,2 average teams and 1 piss poor team.

I don't think TO can give BC another chane without his own credibility coming into questioning. Listen all the possible candidates mentioned are way better than BC because they are all into college football. They understand what to do unlike BC. Since BC hasn't fired any of his staff yet, he won't no matter what TO says and therefore BC can't stay.

No it could get worse. Iowa State could win another game while we don't and we would be dead last in the Big 12 North. I could see us win the next two games if cally and coz weren't calling plays for the entire game just not a half.

I don't think ATM and Nebraska are in the same boat. One has a winning record and the other doesn't. Fran is our Frank Solich. Loses big to good teams but still posts a winning record. I have already forgotten what it feels to see us win. While both teams are looking for coaches ATM is in much better shape than Nebraska. I do feel sorry for ATM and TT, they just get the leftovers that Texas didn't want.
