This kid has felt wrong to me since he "committed". When I look at this picture, I see another Harrison Beck. Fickle and high-maintenance. Not backing it up with hard facts or what his big bro pulled, just the Force tells me this is NOT the guy for us.. Would it be so bad if we didn't take a QB this time around? We'll have senior Lee, senior Washington (RS available), sophomore Green (RS available), medical RS freshman Spano and RS freshman Martinez, and some walk-ons. Not exactly a bare cupboard. Yeah, I've heard the take a QB every year adage, but that is supposed to apply to running backs too, and we're not going to take one of those just to send a message to Andrew Green. Mods, if that pic is a no-no, I didn't know any better. Just remove it.

..because it is obvious our O.C. has not, or he didn't "get" it. Others have summed it up perfectly. We are a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Allowing another team to dictate your whole offensive game plan is ludicrous. Bringing a game plan that worked against someone last week just means they have had time to ponder their mistakes and grow from it. Abandoning what is working the minute it begins to work is like shooting your own horse. Being "multiple" is overrated, and not realistic unless you can draw elite talent to your program year after year.. I'm not trying to be the 8 billionth person to write a post bagging on ole' Shawn. Kinda like the guy really. Just feel like he has served his purpose in smoothing out the coaching transition. Perhaps it is time for him to spread his wings and take over a program where he gets to call all of the shots. There is a major disconnect between our offensive and defensive philosophies. The O and the D see each other all of the time. They take on the characteristics of each other. The elite teams each season find a complimentary balance between the two. Ours are polar opposites. We are faced with a situation where is a DB makes a play, his coaches (and head coach) are waiting at the sideline to bolster his confidence. If an offensive player makes a great play, he is greeted by his teammates. Cotton is the only O coach I can remember slapping helmets this season, and that is normally "his" guys. These are young kids, they want to know they have done a good job. They WANT/NEED to be validated. If you were on our O, wouldn't you be a bit envious of the attention the defensive play makers are getting? Yes, we are cursed with RB injuries right now. Yes we have young talent cutting their teeth. All expectations need to be tempered. We will be lucky to win two more in the regular season IMO. I do not believe that Bo will make any changes mid-season, but I do think he will identify a need to make a change faster than Frank did. Thoughts?

It is late Sunday night and I see that only one person out of 6 is ready to advance. I'm thinking that this "league" has lost its momentum. That and I am about to start my last year of school on Oct. 5th and God forbid I put off studying for a final to finish a game. I'm out. Best of luck to you all. Most of you are on my friends list. After listening to today's press conference and reading what the players had to say, I am absolutely convinced we have the right people running this program. It may not come as soon as some would wish, but better days are just around the corner. Kudos to the staff and the players for getting their heads straight in less than 48 hours. GBR!

Hold up. Just checked right now and only one person has played their game, and the week has NOT been advanced. Can we come to an agreement that works for everyone? Advance this upcoming Sunday night or Monday AM? Give everyone time to get in their games. Phew! BTW, totally agree with your message HuskerB. To me the pinnacle of the series was '08 on the original Xbox. It was perfect. 3rd person PAT blocking, spring drills. This years game teleports dudes around to make plays for the AI. I swear, they "BAMF" around like Nightcrawler.

Ah well, I should have done it Saturday AM like I planned. The beers were just tasting so good, and I don't play important games while buzzed.
