  1. Brent shouldv'e known Mizzou and Kansas are totaly different situations than NU. Both were used to getting blown out on a regular basis, the last 4 years they were playing competitive football, and now have took the next step in becoming favorites to win. The Huskers haven't been playing with any consistency, and have played with less passion. If KU and Mizzou both began losing 7 games a season they would be shopping for a new coach also.
  2. I think Callahan made it an easy choice for TO. Texas was an acceptable loss(if there ever is such) close score it was away and against a decent team, Kansas was not up to anyones standards, K-state made him think another week, and Colorado made it easy obvious signs of problems. 1-4 after TO stepped in, 5-7 overall you don't pay a coach millions to try to win, you do it or move along. A plan isn't worth squat if you don't produce. TO said he knew Callahan had alot of football knowledge, but his ideas didn't produce W's. Bottom of the rankings in D negative opinions of critics and fans for or not, sticking with Coz cost Callahan wins and ultimately his job.

  4. If college football was all about recruiting players with stars next to their names, yea NU would be in trouble. But its not! Its about potential, players that WANT to play there, and players you can develop into great college athlete. Its funny how as NU's recruiting class rankings went up and the drive to win seemed to diminish. I'm not saying thats the reason, but does it correlate to what has happened? Is it convincing a player to come to NU or finding out if they have the motor to play in the big time?
  5. When people think of Nebraskans TO is thought of first almost every time. TO not only understand what the program means but how to make it work. BC's future seems already written. But I always liked the players that came to NU because of TO, mentaly tough, and plays with alot of pride. Something you can't rank with stars. Now its only a matter of creating a coaching staff to attract those men to come. I already like this Kuli, and look forward to more like him!
  6. Didn't firing a coach before his teams season was done, cause alot of possible coaches choose not to come to Nebraska? I think the handling of Frankie set an erie example of the type of athletic director NU had. T.O. being a former coach knows not to make the job less appealing to good coaches he has in mind. B.C.'s exit seems inevibitle, he's just making him finish what he started. IMHO
  7. Of the games I have gone to this year and due to the bad seats I get I end up standing on the sidelines, I haven't seen anything close to that. What I do see is players hanging their heads, nobody talking, oh and a very silent crowd. Not that it doesn't happen, but it may be that they have more of an ability to read minds. But if most think like myself than they would say, do you guys try to lose, other than you suck. Isn't it funny if someone wouldv'e said those things to.. say Jason Peter, he may of kicked the fans a@#, instead of crying to the paper.
  8. I heard Mcbride say he had no intentions to come back, from what I heard on sportstalk, which I was listening to wensday when my d*^&head of a buddy sent me text saying Cally walked out and quit. I had no t.v. only a radio. Mcbride laughed saying Husker fans have some imagination, and said he was on his way to the airport to go to Chicago, and said he wanted to call but had to wait 10 minutes to stop laughing, from the rumors they were spilling on radio, smoke cloud or truth who knows?
  9. Come on! Callahan knows that if he doesn't try and pull his team together for some of these last five games it will be tougher than before to find a new job, IF he is let go, or resigns. He has players who have lost the drive to play, and is replacing them with kids who want to be out there. Lets be honest Lucky has been decent a few games, but hasn't been explosive lately and Castile is a bruser. If what your doing, and who your playing isn't working try something else. Just root them on and hope that these kids realize that at NU you play for the name on the front of your shirt!
  10. Husker faithful? There is no place like Nebraska, Where they're all true blue. We'll all stick together, In all kinds of weather, For Dear old Nebraska U!
