Exactly. While this is only my second post, I'm utterly amazed about how people fly off the handle.....even when they make assumptions that are not correct. For example, this whole notion about "I don't want Nebraska to return to the triple option". Folks, if you think Nebraska ran the triple option under Tom Osborne, you really need to step back. The handoff to the fullback was predetermined by the play-call. The option was to pitch to the tailback or keep, but not to the fullback. It has been speculated that Osborne experimented a little bit with the triple option toward the end, but it was never, ever a focal point of the offense. The fullback ripping off huge gains up the middle was a predetermined play, as evidenced by the pulling guard smashing the penetrating defensive tackle. Just wait, you have not seen someone fly off the handle till we really lose a game (KU).

Why, yes. Yes I did. I'm using irony as a way of juxtaposing the established roles in the forum, thus proving that all rumors are one and one rumor is too much for all. I have taken the biggest jerk of Rumorville (moi) and made him into that very thing he opposes. Whilst doing so, I have made those who oppose my opposition proponents of my posts. In so doing, I have set the established order on its ear, and made art for art’s sake. It's all very cerebral, really. And wasted alot of time. I wonder what you could have been doing with your brain/time if you had not done this?

I agree, let the debate continue...visits by an AD are rare to say the least. I believe he wants Gill to take over the program but knows that he may be unseasoned. He can restore the what he left in place with Solich eventually handing program to TG. Call me crazy, a drunk, stupid, a retard etc... but is it possible. TO was the consultant for Houston and considered taking program over himself. TO's wife has stated (according to TO himself) that she would leave him if he became the HC again.

What is being said is that Turner has earned an honor for a major turn-around at a school with no history of success in football. This is a sign of how good a coach he is and can be. He knows how to motivate and teach his players, and this is also important. Bo may well be a good coach. So would Turner, and so might Grobe, Kelly or Johnson.

I hate to ask this, but what does this have to do with NU coaching search? Yes it is a rumor, but what is the relavance?

Um, on Gill, he did just get the MAC coach of the year award. He has several years as HC, and all the years as an assistant. Why is this not considered?

Turner will not be giving up a HC position (especially MAC coach of the year) to become the OC, even here at Nebraska. Bo would not be willing to make a lateral move. Given that, we will not get both. Now you need to decide who you want more? Me - of the two I want Turner Gill more. But I am not sure one of the others being mentioned would not be a better idea?

Kind of offsets the idea that this is not a top tier program. We may not be the very top, but obviously good coachs think we are worth considering. Hope this means that the search will not last too much longer.

Hmmm now that could be somewhat of a "believable" rumor. I can buy that one. One of the first all week that actually would make sense! exactly, the only one this is believable. Mainly because it does not claim that he has the job. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Will have to keep an eye out for anymore flights out of Lincoln. Kelly is a possible, Paul Johnson seems to be another. Anyone know if there is any word on Mark? Richt being spoken to? Kelly would be a flight to Cincy, Navy is in Anapolis, or they could go to Atlanta and bring the coaching canidates there.
