  1. Thanks man, wasn't sure if this would be rumor or just speculation. I bow to your judgement. ...T_O_B
  2. Its Friday. Its 11:00 A.M. Last regular season game is 5 minutes away. A possible bowl bid rides on this game. Coaches jobs are on the line. The pride of Husker Nation is being challenged. WHERE WILL YOU BE SIOUX FALLS HUSKER FAN? T_O_B and The C-Bear will be hosting the 1st annual Wild Bunch BIG RED CLUB, beat the Buffaloes meeting at Cherry Creek Grill on East 26th Street. Wear the Colors, lift a glass, make new friends and cheer the Huskers on to victory!! Be there, Aloha. ...T_O_B
  3. "The Offence is fine"??? The first 3 games of our 5 game slide we scored 6, 14, and 14 points, went 6 quarters without scoring a TD and at least 2 of the scores came when the game had already been decided. This doesn't sound like the offence is fine to me. ...T_O_B
  4. ESPN, actually a reporter for a Louisanna newspaper, also said it would cost over a million to buy out Miles contract and that Michigan doesn't exactually like to spend money. If true, this makes a run at Bo P. easier if TO decides to go that way. I still like bringing in Bo to be HC and reinvent the Blackshirts and bring in Gill as OC and QB coach. This would give Gill time to get the seasoning he needs in order to take over the program when and if Bo leaves. ...T_O_B
  5. Blow out and the whole stall can start packing as soon as they get back to Lincoln. Actually any loss. Win and maybe we keep one or two of the staff but I think Call's gone irregardless. Cos can start packing right now. Even in the win over KSU the "D" still pretty much stunk. ...T_O_B
  6. Here we go. Carr has stepped down at Mich. Miles at LSU is thought to be his probable successor. Have to think the AD at LSU is talking to both Les Miles and Bo P. If Miles does intend to leave and should they decide Bo is their man they are getting at least a week to ten days to wrap him up. Which program is the more promising to a coach in Bo's position. LSU, looking to a possible NC run. Kids that he is familiar with. Wouldn't have to uproot his family again and for what the 4th time in 5-6 years. This whole thing could come down to how supportive his family is and how they feel about being football gypsies. Let's juust hope that if Bo is the coach we want that he has good feelings about Nebraska (especially with PUD gone) and Lincoln as a home. If he does come and turns things around he would be universally loved and be able to write his own ticket for as long as he wants to stay. If he takes the LSU spot and things slip that could cause a lot of heat in Tiger land. Next few weeks are going to be exciting. Again, here we go. ...T_O_B
  7. It's big twelve related jerk Your warning level has been increased for violating the Board's rule against personal attacks on members. A second violation will result in a temporary ban. A third violation will result in a permanent ban. Ease up AR Husker Fan.. he was just being silly and fun.. admins and mods fail to have a sense of humor..many times..give a computer guy some authority and watch out.. 8. If you are having Prime rib don't forget the Horse-raddish. If you want you can mix some apple sauce with the creamed horse-raddish for a wonderful flavor. Also goes very well with sliced pork loin. ...T_O_B
  9. I too worry about Bo P being a short term fix. That's why I think the choice of OC and DC is so very important. If we could get Bo as HC and some how convince him to bring in Turner Gill as OC then our collective rear end could be covered if Bo leaves. I don't really think this will happen but I'd like to see it. ...T_O_B
  10. and if the president was talking we were screwed HR in one way or another we've always been screwed.

  16. Actually Raw the headline was Irresitible Oklahoma meets Immoveable Nebraska. The Michigan/Ohio State Rivalry can only edge the NU/OU rivalry in length. 2006 was the first time in their series that both teams were ranked 1 and 2. Only three times have both teams been undefeated. Rarely did the Michigan/Ohio State game have National Championship implications, since the 70's the NU/OU has about 12 games that decided the pairings in the NC game. Thanks for the correction. I was flying blind but my memory didn't completely let me down. The point that another poster made that Ohio State/Michigan played for the Rose Bowl and NE and OU were playing for the national championship every year sums it all up. And that game in 71 has been voted time after time as the greatest game ever played. Eventually another one will over take it but for those of us who were impressionable teenagers at the time there was nothing like it. A great era and great football. Juxtapose that with what Colorado has accomplished over the years in college football. True they had their day in the sun but then they ruined it all with scandal. They had a quarterback who died of cancer, I think, and of course that was a tragedy. We all felt genuinely terrible about that. But not surprisingly the school shamelessly kept bringing that tragedy up for two or more years as a way of motivating their players....all for the sake of a win. You never heard anything close to that out of Nebraska after Brook Berringer died but it seemed Colorado took the death of that gifted athlete and father, it turned out, and turned it into a pep rally every week for two years. To be so disrespectful to his family was sickening to me. To imply his life meant nothing more than a football game....is deplorable and shameful. I have never had the slightest wisp of respect for the University of Colorado after that. What a load of crap, and I apologize now to staff here on this site. I was a freshman at CU in 1990 and no one ever mentioned Sal Aunese that year. Perhaps in '89 it might have guided them, but christ, that was the year he ACTUALLY FRIGIN DIED!!!!! I cannot believe you would even bring him up, the only thing that is shameful is you dragging him up out of the grave over this discussion. Shame on you sir!!!! Gentlemen All, Let's let this end here and now. A young man with the promise of a future and a child to look after left us all far too soon. May he always be remembered with respect and may his lady and child live a long and happy life. God Bless You All, we have at least one thing in common amongst us all, the love of our team and college football. I would happily sit and lift a glass with any of you. ...T_O_B
