  1. That's not that big of a deal anymore. They've changed the dates of so many bowls that a "New Year's Day" bowl doesn't mean much anymore. As long as it's a good matchup, we'll get eyeballs tuned in.
  2. Maybe they were content giving Smith Freshman of the Year? Seems kind of silly, but that could have been their logic.
  3. Sounds exactly like the arguments folks were making when we fired Callahan and some fans were looking for a "name" coach to come in. Notre Dame's day isn't over if they don't want it to be. They'll have to lower their academic standards a bit, but if they do they'll continue to get top talent. They just need a coach that can translate that talent into wins.
  4. That's the page I use. It's "official" after all. I use this page, though. Not sure the difference. LINK
  5. Spiller is now back on the list That rights a wrong, at least. I can't imagine how they could put Keenum up there but not Spiller. Yeah, Spiller had a bad game, but that shouldn't remove the #2 vote-getter.
  6. ESPN's list of "experts" provide a ranking 1-5 of their Heisman candidates. From that ranking they compile numbers, and they list on the Nissan vote thing the players who get votes from the "experts." Tigers fans have a legit gripe, too. How do you remove from the voting the guy with the second most votes? Absurd. EDIT - OK, not sure what's going on. The "experts" explanation was what we got earlier in the year when they pulled Suh off the ballot, but it doesn't seem to hold water today. Case Keenum has 1 total point on their "experts" ballots, while Spiller has four, tied with Suh. Weird.
  7. That site doesn't use every game, though. Alabam's stats against Chattanooga aren't being used, for one.
  8. That site seems to have different national rankings than what the official NCAA site has. For instance they have NU as 4th in Scoring D where the NCAA Site has NU 3rd. Fox has NU 29th in Rush D where they are 15th on the NCAA site. The actual numbers look right but the rankings, I am assuming the numbers in parenthesis are the rankings, don't jive with the official NCAA rankings. --edit-- I just went to the overall stats listing for the teams on Fox and those seem to jive with the NCAA. I am not sure why the rankings on the Head to Head portion don't match. This is just a guess, but are they conference rankings?
  9. Yep, and the Tigers fans just noticed, and they're NOT HAPPY. I've made some posts on TigerNet to help them out (I like Spiller, after all), but as we know, it's now a foregone conclusion that Suh will win.
  10. So I should start a new thread when this gets posted in the JournalStar, and another for the World Herald, and another for the Norman Transcript, and another for the Austin Statesman, and another for when CNN/SI picks this up, and the AP, and USAToday, and.... ? Come now. Yeah, you should. What kind of "fan" are you? Apparently a confused fan. I've been set straight, though. Took some doing, too.

  12. You can just type out "good for you." You don't have to use an abbreviation.
  13. Sad thing is, Henery has 13-15 more punts than the three guys ahead of him on the list. That's nearly two more drives stalled per game.
  14. I think I'm confused too, Truman. Thanks for clarifying for me.
  15. Bo isn't even on their radar, for several reasons, maybe chief among them the fact that he's only been here two years. Any coach that leaves a program after two years would be suspect to a tradition-rich school like Notre Dame. See bold comments below:

So I should start a new thread when this gets posted in the JournalStar, and another for the World Herald, and another for the Norman Transcript, and another for the Austin Statesman, and another for when CNN/SI picks this up, and the AP, and USAToday, and.... ? Come now. Well, no, but since the KC Star All-Big 12 team is different than this one, I figured this might be nice to post. But, I suppose if this is deemed a duplicate, it will either get deleted or merged eventually. Meh. No big deal. I'm just joshing ya.
  17. Clearly they weren't watching him play this year. His average is comparable with the top three, but tactically he was superior. His punts were game-changing.

  19. Mack is really good friends with the coach before Bo, Frank Solich.
  20. How many times does this need to be posted?
  21. I'm cool with this. I think we'll be better off playing post-season games in different locales. Spreads out our recruiting name.
  22. Did they make a correction, or what's going on? Crick is one of five DL on the First Team: I'm really surprised to see we have four First Team guys on Defense. Gomes was runner-up for Defensive Newcomer. Too bad he wasn't starting all season. He could have gotten top billing. Barry Turner also got Honorable Mention on Defense.
