I just stated my opinion that Brian Kelly should coach for another year and to see what he could do next year before bringing him up as a candidate. Do your homework next time and you won't make it so easy for people to actually set you straight on your "opinions"! just throwing my two cents in on experience, A&m's coach had success at TCU and bama how did that pan out for A&M Bob Stoops had zero head coaching experience and that seemed to work out pretty well Pete Carrol had zero head coaching experience in the college ranks and that seemed to work out for usc as well. So I guess what I am saying is experience really isnt the biggest thing here, what we need is someone that knows the game and is a good fit for Nebraska.

bit west coast, bit spread, bit option, just a mix really, and they get good production(also he's done a great job changing players to different positions(their starting tail back might be sunday bound and he was a db before gill got there, their best d line man was on the offense at tight end i believe and he has something like 10 or 11 sacks if i remember right)) Would be a great choice for our new HC! I agree 100%. Here is a guy that knows the program in and out, has no problem going to TO for advice. The man is a very spiritual person and is a great speaker. I heard him speak in 10th grade and I was amazed at how he captured the room(I could only imagine what he could do in a recruits living room). He has what it takes to take this position head on and I think that everyone would love to have him here. He would bring Heart and discipline back to the husker program, from what we havent seen in quite sometime now.

I'm confused

If you never liked the mechanics on the past qb's throwing motion than I would like to hear what you have to say about kellers. Because his was horrible(he looks like he was shotputting it out there). Now when you are running an offense like the skers were at the time of frazier, berringer, and frost we really didnt want to worry about how our qbs looked while throwing the football. The goal of Gills was preparing them to read the defense to call the right traps, or count down to who the end guy on the line is to run the option at. He was teaching these kids to take care of the football and move us down the field. That offense was a very complicated offense to run and when they finally did pass the ball it didnt matter if they shot putted it, kicked it at the reciever because he was so wide open it didnt matter how it looked. He just made them good enough throwers to be successful to hit the open reciever, and that is all he was expected to do. So if you are asking me about how Gill did in coaching those kids I believe he excelled at it. Now if you are grading him on how those QBs performed when they ran the WCO or the run and shoot you are right he failed, but they didnt.

I am not sure if anyone here watched Buffalo vs. Syracuse on TV, but Turner Gill had a very well balanced offense. His team ranged from all formations...stemming from the I at some points to going five wide and using his QB's mobility to run and throw the football. I was just really impressed with how he makes these average kids play very good and disciplined football and making teams defend all areas of the field. That to me would be a great offense for the huskers.

I hear all this talk about schemes and that the coaches schemes went wrong, but i dont hear really any other suggestions. So I was just curious to see what the mistakes were in everyones eyes and how there "scheme" would have been different.

sorry i am new...but husker fans are spoiled baby's...i think that i am seeing the same thing that you guys wanted all over again when you wanted frank solich gone because he could "scheme" well or get his players "fired up." I am sick of you spoiled brats...I cheer for the huskers but to be honest with you...you fans are the ones that helped steve pederson kill the husker tradition. It will never be the same thanks to you. I really enjoyed what we had, because we werent everyone else and just fired people because of one and i mean one bad year that was still a bowl season. So thanks for helping out steve pederson in taking us well past mediocraty...go lincoln raiders..woo hoo you all make me sick
