  1. Would you be happy if your daughter brought him home? I would have to say that mine could do a lot worse, hell of a college career for the kid and someone our kids can really look up to, I hate the media drooling but I cannot blame Tebow for it.
  2. Do you even know anything about football? If a player touches the ball while he is down, THE BALL IS DOWNED, doesn't matter if he has possession or not. you see it on kickoffs all the time. it was the correct call. He had the ball then fumbled it, then when down, then got up and picked up the ball, he wasn't down. Keep posting though because if there is some mythical statue of so called classy knowledgeable Nebraska fans you do your best to chip it away with every post you type.
  3. I think you answered your own question, if they were holding how could they have gotten 9 sacks? lol
  4. My take on the officiating: There were two pass interference calls that I thought were harsh the main one was when the Texas receiver was 5 yards out bounds to begin with and never even knew the ball was comming, that was an absolutely horrible call.(+1 for Nebraska) There was a no-call unneccesary roughness penalty that should have been thrown against Nebraska when a Cornhusker DB tattooed a Horn receiver after the kid took about 5 steps after dropping the football.(+1 for Texas) How many chop blocks can you get called for before you get ejected? The reason a chop block is a personal foul is for player safety issues.(+1 for Nebraska) The kickoff where the Texas returner dropped the ball on the 1 yard line but was ruled down was clearly the wrong call, Texas was able to move the ball out of there which in retrospect seems to be ingored.(+1 Texas) The clock issue, the ball does hit the ground with time on the clock, that issue seems to be not argued by the most ardent Cornhusker supporters but the issue of why it was reviewed is the issue. I think for both schools sake the NCAA or the Big 12 should really make a strong statement for both schools about this today. If the play is reviewable then it is owed to your shool to clarify the rule it should be explained to Texas as well to give them the peace of mind that they won fairly. If it should not have been reviewed then let the sh#t storm continue. I think the balance of bad calls was about even, the real question is the clock and I would like to see an explanation today from the powers that be.
  5. I had lost confidence in Watson back in 2001 when we steamrolled you guys and then won the Big 12 with an awesome running game only to go into the Fiesta against Oregon and try and showcase our mediocre quarterback play. Back when it appeared that Hawkins might get fired there was speculation on this board that Watsom would be hired to replace Hawkins, I posted several times that I would be completely against that hire.
  6. I am sure I will have a few of my forum stalkers accuse me of lying but I am 37 years old and love watching football and that was the most incredible defensive performance I have ever seen. I have never seen a defensive player play a game on any level as I saw with Suh tonight. I hate to say it because I am a Buff but hang your heads high and be proud of that effort tonight regardless of how it ended it was a treat to watch, go kick some Pac 10 teams ass!!!!
  7. Cody reminds me of that big nose tackle the Packers had when they were Super Bowl contenders, a good 1st and 2nd down guy but get him out on passing pays.
  8. Entertaining game so far I am impressed with Tebow's throwing, if his receivers would do a better job making some catches this would really be a nip and tuck game. Alabama looks like they have no intention of letting Tebow run on them though.
  9. I have been here the whole time brother. I am so glad you and others have selective sight. "stronger than those weatherspoon tries to give out during the game" But not as strong as Assante's cheap shots Who do you think you are talking sense and actually citing statistics?! NU won the north this year solely on the back of it's defense . . . so it must be the worst year ever . . . right??? Not sure why you keep using your victim card because I don't think anyone was knocking Nebraska for winning the north but the north as a division does suck and my team especially is an anchor right now. Even the conference as a whole is way down this year, usually we are competitive with the SEC but right now I would put several other conferences ahead of the Big 12 in overall quality, that doesn't diminish Texas's opportunity to play for the BCS it just means what I said the conference as whole this year is weak. Sorry. It wasn't supposed to sound like a victim card. Sometimes my sarcasm is irrepressible. Did you happen to find a sportswriter who said the North was great in any recent year or a post of mine that said the North was good this year? Or are you just dodging the question? To be honest I am not sure what the argument is then, if you say the north has been crappy for 4-5 years and if I agree with that assessment with the exception of 2 years ago(KUvsMizzou), then why am I trying to find someone to say that it was good? to paraphrase: "Boo Hoo Hoo. We lost. Boo hoo hoo" Don't Mizery and the Buttholeoes have websites? God you two are pathetic. My bad, the Big 12 North is great, every team should be in the Top 10, it is a travesty of justice that there had to be a last placed team, better?
  10. I am watching the Pitt/Cincinatti game and I know Brian Kelly is rumored for the Notre Dame job but I listened to the ND AD and he seemed adamant about defensive minded coaches and this game today is anything but defense...lol
  11. Can I have those 3 minutes of my life back, pretty please?
  12. I like his shows, he usually gets great guests and he will say things that need to be said, if your team is not in the elite category then yeah he will dog them, you just have to have some thick skin. If you guys win then he will drool all over Pelini come Monday.
  13. Cowherd loves 3 teams and he says so whenever he discusses college football this season, USC, Florida, and Texas, he has not pretended otherwise this year.
  14. That's true in every year for the last 4 or so. It hardly helps your claim that this is the worst year. Maybe its the worst maybe it isn't but even Mack Brown danced around the assertion today that the North is bad, make no mistake I am not taking away from your title because even the south probably isn't as good as it was last year and Texas still has the chance at a national title.
  15. How come as the older I get the more I miss when I try and aim my piss bomb at some 85 year old Husker grandmother? I used to be accurate as hell with my piss bombs but now they just fall aimlessly away not hitting anyone.........
  16. Don't feel too bad, he has been doggin the hell out of Alabama reminding them that they lost to Utah last year and Louisiana Monroe the year before.
  17. Pray that the loser of the SEC Title game only falls to #2 in the BCS in order to listen to the screamers come Monday morning in anticipation of the demise of the BCS and introduction of a playoff system.
  18. I gotta laugh cuz I'm in the AF and was stationed at "No Hope" Pope for 4 years. "Fayettenam...where there's a pawn shop, tatoo parlor and strip club on every corner and one of each in between". I lived on Pope when I was in junior high/high school when my father was in the Air Force. I went to Albritton Middle School and then E.E. Smith High School.
  19. A sports radio station out of Austin that claims to be a Longhorn flagship station was broadcasting Jim Rome right now, so I cannot find anything on this.
  20. I don't know, we are terrible, by the end of the year Kansas was even worse then us, ISU still isn't very good, KSU isn't going to a Bowl Game and thier game against you was for the division and Mizzou should have lost to Kansas had Mangino not screwed the pooch. So my assessment is that the division is pretty bad. Four out of the 6 teams from the South would have either won or pushed to win the North division.
  21. To be honest I am not sure what the argument is then, if you say the north has been crappy for 4-5 years and if I agree with that assessment with the exception of 2 years ago(KUvsMizzou), then why am I trying to find someone to say that it was good? You said this: "the North was horrible this year, probably the worst it has ever been, one team rose up and won it, kudos to them." That would imply that you think the North was down this year, correct? For it to be down, it must have been better in the recent past. (I'm saying that it is at roughly the same level this year as it has been recently.) Therefore, for your statement that the North is down this year to be proven true, you'd have to provide context showing that it was better in the recent past. Maybe I'm just confused. Are you still saying the North is "probably the worst it has ever been" or are you backing off that statement? Yes, it still sucks, although I am sure I could be jaded because we especially suck....... but I guess what we are debating is the varying levell of shittiness for the division this year, correct?
