I think the point that most people are missing is that, if we beat VT then, as you said lose to ku or ou or Mizzou we are NOT back... BUT, by the same token, if we beat those 3 but lose to VT then we are NOT back. VT is not the turning point, its the entry into the corner. It does not win the race for us, it sets us up to be in position to win the race. In my honest opinion, we are not back unless we beat (convincingly) 3 out of these 4 teams this year. And by convincingly, I don't mean by 3 td's, I mean we don't win because of some fluke or bad call, etc. My reasoning for this is that VT is looking like this may be a down year if they lose to us, Mizzou is still undecided, KU will be strong but I believe their magic is over, and OU has already had a huge disappointment in their season.

Seeing that video reminds me of something I've wondered for a long time... Why is the student section in Lincoln on the opposite side of the stadium from the Tunnel Entrance?

Nice to see that. There's a reason we all congregate here, and it's cool to see HB listed first and foremost amongst options. Hooray, HuskerBoard! Have I mentioned before that I am man-crushing on The Quad? This section of the NYTimes has quickly made itself the go-to site for college football news. This article is just one of dozens and dozens they've written, as in-depth as this, about every team in 1A football. They're taking their time, being fairly unbiased and accurate (aside from "Mike" Compton ), and have just a ton of info on each team so far. I have very few links on my link bar thingy, but they're one of them. Good stuff. Ya they really are some great articles... I've been reading them since they were on the high 50's teams... only skipping a few teams. Only thing I don't really agree with, is that they are drinking the Notre Dame Kool Aid... Seriously... what is with all the buzz about ND for the past years... same thing happens every time, they play a cupcake (sans USC) schedule and everyone thinks they can go 11-1, then they sputter out to a 3-9 season, only to be reincarnated as college footballs next top team, again, play a cupcake schedule and come out with a 7-6 season (while losing to syracuse). Now they are ranked above the huskers...

I don't really get caught up in the politics of playcalling... but are we still scripting the first X plays? It seems as though our offense comes out robotic and has no character. Also, as the commentators pointed out, we very rarely score on our first possesion. If this is still being scripted before hand, why? Whats the advantage? Also... please, please eliminate the WR screen out of the ANY formation... I don't recall a time where this play worked for good yardage and everytime I see it developing I hold my breath. Ganz usually got to the point where if that play was called, he threw it to the WR whether he was covered or not... My evidence is the Oklahoma game. (Clemson would have had the same thing but Ganz decided not to throw at the last minute)
