Big Willie, what are your sources? Because I doubt you've heard this from anyone who knew anything. This is the problem with people - they like to know things, and they're willing to fabricate facts so that they can be in the know. Or, they make the truth what they want it to be.

I read something about those Husker-logo flatscreens on HP ... are they for real? Here's to hopin the wife picks up a couple books or DVD's to carry me through the long, cold winter offseason ...

I've always believed this to be true, but just read the Nebraska Way and i'm totally convinced that there is no way Osborne will give the job to an outsider. the book talks about a lot of former players and assistants that would spend the rest of their lives as a position coach if they could. isn't that what Osborne wants? culture? continuity? it's gotta go to Gill, or Pelini, or someone else we're not thinking of. But i'm going with Gill.

maybe this kid who wrote the book should add another chapter about how incredibly insensitive some members of the state can be to KIDS and FAMILIES of coaches, who are HUSBANDS and DADS before they are COACHES. what the heck is up with that? what's this guy's email, i'm pitching the idea to him ... lol

i'm sure you've all head Callahan's comments about how he leans on his faith in hard times. he's never really struck me as a man of God, but the Nebraska Way says that Doak saw him making a stronger effort in his faith (i.e. having a Bible out at his desk). i must say i'm a little surprised, but i still don't think he's anywhere near the man of God guys like T.O., Minter, Gill and some of those other guys are!

new to HB, want to say hello! and i've already received mine thru BN.com. i agree with runnin, so much more to the book than controversy! at any rate, enjoyed taking a trip through those glory years, and learning something new along the way! PRAISE BE TO T.O! our CINCINAUTUS! I'd recommend this book to Nebraska fans. DO is in here for sure, but so is Osborne, Frazier, Frost, Solich! and many others. really shows how everything that's happening now was set into motion long ago!!
