    Just saw the Torii Hunter Jr. hit. How the hell is that NOT targeting, but Gifford pushes FS QB and is kicked out?

      Savage Husker....targeting is using your head or shoulders leading into the opponents helmet. That said Giffords was BS and the one in the Notre Dame game should've been called

      Yep, Big12 refs were in the booth, they were the ones able to make that call after the play. But ya know.

      If they called it and it was "launching" I'd accept it. I do get the theory of the rule, but I think they also have to take into account that the receiver leaves his feet to catch the ball and then comes down and into impact of the DB. I don't think the DB was "targeting" Hunter Jr, but ended up going head/shoulder into Hunter Jr.
