  1. Dillard has given us a solid commitment already and it doesn't have him committed. He don't find this guy very reliable.
  2. Thats great that we are reaching down in to Texas to try and recruit some of their best athletes. He would be a big pick-up for us.
  3. It would be great to land Lucky and Jimmerson off of that list. Two backs in top 15 would really give our offense a boost.
  4. I can't see us offering a him a scholarship since Beck said that he would leave if we did. I don't think we should push our luck with this kid. Lets just take Beck and call it good at quarterback. If he wants to walk-on thats fine, but I just don't see us offering anything to him.
  5. I don't think that we are going to get this kid. WE are going hard after Marlon Lucky and A.J. Jimmerson from Missouri. I really don't think that we would try to bring in three backs especially since we have Jackson and Green already on the depth charts as freshman.
  6. Lucky would be a great pickup for us. He know that he is not as talented as Adrian Peterson, but it would be a huge boost for our offense to have a running back with that kind of talent.
  7. I think it would be obvious to fan like myself if the defense is confused. I may be just a little more knowledgable with reading defenses than the average fan is but if a defense does not move while we are doing all that shifting, then it is obvious that they are in a zone defense. I don't see why Bill has to run all of that stuff through four quarters to tell that a team that is going to run zone against us because that is the best way to confuse a young quarterback. Dailey is going to see a lot of zones and until he can find the holes in them, teams will continue to run zone on us.
  8. I really don't know if we need those kinds of fullbacks anymore. Yes it would be great to have a fullback that can come out of the backfield and catch the football but I think we might have a better chance with getting mismatches if we use Herian, Keiser, a running back or reciever.
  9. Didn't we have quite a few touchbacks last year. What is wrong with these guys. THey need to quit messing around in practice and get some leg strength.
  10. I hope that your right. I think that we could use him in a couple of quick screens or maybe a fake a quick screen to him while we send fluellen deep or something. But he needs to find the field and maybe touch the ball a couple of times per game.
  11. Dane Todd is a sophomore. He has developed really nicely and hopefully he can contribute to the team this year and in years to come.
  12. I believe that you are right Bernard. Downing has the most to do with who we go after but Callahan has the final decision.
  13. IF the players aren't getting the drills then the coaches must do something else to get the point across to them. A coach just can't give up and put him in the game knowing that he might fumble because he couldn't do the drill in practice. If they can't do the drill in practice they shouldn't be on the field playing. You would not put in a reciever into a game to catch a football if you watched him drop ball after ball in practice. Coaches have to preach to the players the importance of turnovers and how they can win and lose ball games.
  14. I agree Red, He needs to make the easy plays as well as making the big plays. He needs to step up and lead by example. If the younger players see him making these plays, it will encourage them to go out and make some plays.
  15. Terrific Tom, I agree with you that Broderick Thomas was a great recruit. Anytime a team changes its defense and its philosophy just to bring in a player, the guy must be pretty special. He was the reason that we called our ends "rush ends". He wanted to come here as a linebacker so we told him that he would be a linebacker that blized alot then gradually put him in the down position.
  16. That suxs that Kreiwald got injuried in a pileup but it is also shows that our defense is getting after each other in practice and are gang tackling. I wish that we wouldn't injure our own players during practice, but if they are going hard then it is hard to tell them to calm down.
  17. That may be alright if they only play half the time. It will give the younger guys some reps against a very good team in Kansas, plus they will allow the defense to stay fresh with playing just half the time.
  18. I know that we won't give the ball to the fullback in short yardage or goal line but we need him in there to be the lead blocker to take on the linebackers. He will be missed but I think that we can get by without him.
  19. I am with you Bernard, I loved watching the option and I am not a big fan of the three yard pass. I think that a bunch of people are hypnotised by all the motion and shifting (that does no good) before the play, that they fail to realize that we had more break away runs last year than we have 20+ yard receptions so far this year. Now people, don't get me wrong, I love the fact that we are bring the foward pass into our offense, but I think that we need throw the ball down field a little bit more so that it actually does open up our running game. Any defense can leave their three linebackers close to the line and still defend a completed three yard pass and still contend against the run. We need to throw down field so that teams are putting in there nickel back when we go three wide.
  20. How can you say that Mickey Joseph was the biggest bust. He led us to a 10-2 record the only year that he got to start. He played great in the game that Mike Grant got cheap shotted against OU and he came in and lead us to victory. He was a great play maker but sat behind another good quarterback in Mike Grant. If you are going to rate him on the fact that he didn't start then you would probally rate Brook Berringer up there as well. But even I know that Brook was one hell of a QB and couldn't of started a ton of other places across the country.
  21. Which players do you think will not play much for us? Just Wondering Bernard.
  22. Sproles does not have the recievers to keep teams from stacking the line against him. Plus his quarterback is unstable and they really don't know which one is best out of Meier and Webb. Benson may have a chance, but if they are going to win the Big 12 and contend for a national title, then they will need the passing game to produce more and Young to be more productive running and throwing the football.
  23. "We've only played three games in a brand new offense that is one of the most complicated out there. How can you talk about not winning very well? We're 2-1! That's three games! USC lost a game last year. Settle down and stop complaining until we see how we do coming off this bye week. " Yeah USC did lose a game last year but they also weren't averaging 4.5 turnovers per game. They had one game last year with more than three turnovers and they lost it. They lost their game to a conference rival, we lost ours to a non-BCS school. You should wait until conference play before you start to compare us to USC.

When you guys talk about guaranteed contracts.....you should actually read what their contract is talking about. Most of their "guaranteed contract" is just incentives. Phillip Rivers is suppose to have like a $60 million contract but half of that is for bogus incentives like making the super bowl his first five year and the pro bowl his first seven year. It is all called guaranteed money but it really isn't, it is just a way for agents to get paid more money.
  25. You may be right that the defenses that we see will notice that we give up some hurries......but we will also get better as time goes on, plus WCO is short pass routes that don't require the line to block very long which is in our favor for not have the lineman that are pass blockers. When our quarterback only takes three step drops then it is pretty easy to consider the defense to be getting pressure on him. If it was a seven step drop, they would not be getting the pressure......people need to take into account what type of pass it is before ruling that a player within two yards of the quarterback is actually getting pressure.
