  1. There are some teams that are overrated, but it is early in the season and as the season gets older, the rankings will straighten themselves out and we will know who the top teams are. As far as the mid-majors go, how are they suppose to play top of the line teams, when the top teams from the BCS conferences will not schedule them. No AD in there right mind would schedule a home and home series with a Utah or Fresno State. These teams are dangerous as we saw with Louisville knocking off Florida State a couple years ago in Kentucky. As long as these mid-majors keep winning on the road (Troy, Fresno State, Utah, Southern Miss) contenders are going to be very wary about scheduling them.

If Callhan is such a good coach, then why did he let the same Raider team that went to the super bowl the year before slide all the way to a 4-12 record. He had the athletes last year. The whole age thing is bull crap. When a coach can't get his players to play hard ( Charles Woodson) then he is not doing his job. A great coach can get the very best out of every player. (Bill Parcells) . Bill callahan is average at best, a new offense does not make a coach great. All of the turnovers and penalties should be an example of how much Bill is getting out of his players. He is average at best and we have to deal with that.
  3. It was great to hear that all of the coaches stopped what they were doing that sunday morning to congratulate him on making Nebraska his next stop to play some ball.
  4. Is he the only quarterback to be offered for next year, or the only player to be offered for 2006?
  5. Weather is a huge factor in any football game played in Nebraska. Especially on Friday nights. High school coaches have to run the ball because their quarterbacks just don't have the strength to throw the ball with any precision. I think that Nebraska still has to recruit in state especially on the Lines because we need the big beef eaters who don't mind physical contact.
  6. Does anyone know who the coach is that recruits in that area? J/W
  7. I hope that we can find a way to change his mind. He would really help our O-Line. We need to get some big physical kids who can pass block. But we normally don't have that good of luck taking the top talent out of the Big Ten area, so this might not be that big of a surprise.
  8. I really miss the option too, but I love to see the fact that our recievers are running routes without having the play action to get them open. This all will take time to get use to, but I think that Oklahoma likes their change right about now.
  9. This is great for recruiting, because players will want to be nationally televised as much as possible.
  10. With Dillard and Covey already giving us a solid verbal plus still having a chance to get that kid from So Cal. I don't know if getting another linebacker commitment would be wise. We need to make sure that Dillard and if we get that kid for So Cal, that they believe that they can come in here and get solid playing time right away. We don't want to give them a reason to think other wise.
  11. I agree that we shouldn't worry quit so much about the off the field problems, but I don't think that we need to let it get out of hand like Miami has. We need players that have fire under their belts like Richie, but I don't think we need them to go around punching their own teammates in the locker room. It never hurts to have one or two of these players like Richie or the Peter brothers. They can be great leaders on the field on how to play all out but I wouldn't want anyone to worship them for what they do off the field. Gamecocks
  12. I totally disagree with you. A nickle back or a Dime back is just as important as the weak side linebacker in a 4-3. Just wait until we are playing Tech in a couple of weeks and Grixby, Washington, McPhearson, Huston, and Brothers are all playing at the same time. I would hope that they would be more important to our defense that day than Stewart or Bradley who will be riding the pine all game long. Plus, if you are going to switch the blackshirts every week then what is the point of getting them.
  13. The west coast offense does go deep every now and then and fluellen is the perfect reciever for us to do the deep ball.
  14. Mizzo will have its good and bad weeks. Hopefully, our defense will come and play four quarters against Brad Smith. Remember MU had to resort to a couple of trick plays to beat us. If one or two of those don't go as planned for them, then maybe its Nebraska walking out of there undefeated last year. Gamecocks
  15. I really like Allen as an option quarterback. I would of liked him to come to Nebraska if were still running the option but KSU is a great fit for him now. I hope that he doesn't get a win against us in the next four or five years but i wish him the best. Gamecocks
  16. What is up with all of this motion and shift changing before the snap? I think that it would work in teams are in man and are moving around looking all confused but most of the time, the defense is in zone and are just sitting back and watching. This is just hurting ourselves because of all the motion, we have false starts, illegal motions, or delay of games. WE are usually the ones with superior athletes and have been known to be very physical. Why don't we just line up in our sets, and shove it down their throats. Gamecocks
  17. I believe that Fluellen is starting to get healthy now and will start to get into the game more and more. We are starting to develop some depth at the wideout position which is important. Pilkington is a must on every position along with some combination of Nunn, Mulkey, and Leflore (when healthy). Using Herian and the backs to be split out will rest these receivers. Fleullen will help when we want to go deep or need to use him as a decoy on an end around or reverse or something. I think that if we can design five or six plays to get Fleullen involved in the game, we should be able to stretch the defense and keep them honest.
  18. Do you guys think that Covey will stay with his verbal commitment since his high school friend Incognito has left the team? Just wondering and want some feedback.
  19. You don't bring in all new coaches and a brand new system and not call it a rebuilding year. I don't know what your idea of a rebuilding year is but it doesn't mean that we will have down year by any means. In my opinion, it just means that we will not be where we want to be as far as progress. Our goal is national championship and this is not the year that we will get it......we are BUILDING for the future right now.
  20. This is alright with me. We need to stay below the radar this year (rebuidling year) so that we can upset some teams when they come to town or when we go to visit. Every team in the North (besides Iowa State) has a chance at the North Title. I don't care what the chances are but we have to look after number one. Lets just win our games and let those other people talk about whoever else first.
  21. I think the special teams will be special against KU. We have a couple of weeks to get the right personal out there and maybe get a trick play or two in the returns or kicking game to catch them off guard. As far as turnovers are concerned, We have to eliminate them completly. OU, Tech, Missouri, K-State will kill us if we continue with our pace. We HAVE to eliminate them if we are going to contend for a Big 12 North Title.
  22. I think that if KU beats Tech this week ( I highly doubt) then the game will be on pay-per-view.
  23. Special teams play was horrible.........why the heck is Stuntz on the kickoff team. he doesn't know how to hit people.
  24. The conditions were the same for everyone, but it was more noticeable with ross because he always has trouble tripping.
  25. NU-24 KU-22 Rushing yards-275 Passing yards-300 With a week off to rest, prepare, and fix the kinks; we will be ready.
