  1. The Tiger coaching staff is trying to make Brad Smith into the best pro QB that they can, cause they think that it will help in the recruiting process. They just don't understand that this isn't the pros and they can win if they let him get outside the pocket. I live down here outside of KC and thats all that they talk about on sports radio. KInda sounds like what Callahan is trying to do with the O at Nebraska, we can win with the run but lets move to a more Pro set O, and loose
  2. The reason that smith was better last year is no one really knew anything about him, This year he is no longer a unknown teams know what he can and cannot do.
  3. Im not sure if you thought b4 posting this but lets take a llook at last year b4 making any judgements.... Last year no one stopped B.Smith, this year he is far more contained by all teams, saying Cosgrove is doing a better job is crazy talk...
  4. Very odd, though we are also #1 in the INT stat =(
  5. We should win 2 more but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. I'd say about a 68% chance we will 2 more. I don't think we will win our bowl game but it kinda depends who we play. How do you call yourself a Husker fan? You don't think they will win their bowl game without knowing who they will even play. That is ridiculous. And where do you get 68% from? Are you Danny Sheridan? Just because I don't think we will win doesn't mean I dont want them to win. That's how I'm a fan. I just don't think we can beat any kind of quality team, especially on the road. I wouldn't call Iowa State or Colorado quality opponents. It honestly all depends on what Nebraska team comes to play... If the Nebraska that played kstate comes to play for the Iowa State and COlorado game they will have a hard time winning... But if Nebraska can manage to play like they did against Mizu then they will win, gasp they beat Mizu by using the power I who woulda thunk it..
  6. Our DBs are fine, and alot of the backfield will go pro if not all, hard to say they suck when you have that kind of talent in the back field
  7. You cant expect a db to stay with a wr all day, some pressure has to be placed on the QB so that he doesnt have all day to throw the ball... And with the sets cos has them in its all on the DB to do what no one can do I dont care how good you are, if you leave a qb in the pocket for enough time someone is going to be open.
  8. This year vs Last year over 7 games 2004 Points scored 201 / points allowed 205 2003 Points scored 206 / points allowed 91 THe thing that really sticks out to me is last year we were scoring more on avg per game, this year if not for the W. Illinios and baylor our scoring is way down.. And on D well I think 114 point diff is self explan.
  9. The WCO may work in the Pros, but in college it is very hard to make it work... The problem is that in the pros you have the best college players, In college no matter how good your recruiting your not going to recruit a team where everyone is at pro level.... Dont forget about the Atlanta Falcons who have one of the best QBs in the NFL just put the WCO in and Vick is having one of the worst seasons in his carrier.
  10. Noter Dame is an excellent example of that Nebraska can look foward to, Going back to college football has changed, last I checked if you have the ball more than the other team its hard for them to score. While you have to pass some time, only one good thing comes from passing the ball compaired to three things that are bad.. (drop, int, incompleate) I know that some will say that Nebraska is running the ball more, but they are not running with any authority, the fb isnt used they havent used any misdirection or delay plays its all up front. On D im not sure that cos knows what team he is playing it is as if he has one set def and will use that no matter the out come or team he plays. Makes me wonder if his theory is if it works lets do something else.
  11. They didn't stink to bad last year with pelini. Texas, Kansas St, and Mizzouri bring back any memories THey might have lost to big names like KSU,OU, and UT but I think that I would take loosing to Texas over TExas tech..... That and loosing by 60 still kinda sticks out to the brilliant D coaching by Cos.... where is the D ranked this year vs last year? its basically the same unit
  12. What I want to know is why was Pelini let go? and cos his replacment. Last year On D Nebraska was dominating, and Wis was only avg? This good ol boy hireing is compleatly dumping the Nebraska D.... My theory is that Callahan dumped Pelini because he was going for the head coach while it was open and didnt want anyone in the coaching staff taking his job beacause he cannot coach or wants Nebraska to drop off the face of the map in hopes that his WCO (we cant operate) will win a title, he knows that he can blame this years preformance on the fact that he doesnt have his reqruits in..... Whin in trueth it really doesnt matter the recruits he gets the WCO doesnt work the Raiders proved that.... As the season comes to a close the only bowl we will be able to play in is the toilet bowl. Everyone is saying that Football has changed from when T.O was Coach, im sorry to say that it hasnt, a team can be one dim. and still win, look at what Texas tech did, they didnt come out running the ball they were true to what the program is good at passing the ball, Nebraska has been a running program for years dominating on time of poss. with this wco the only thing we dominate is points allowed. I know that Pelini will never come back and Solich is gone for good, but at least look at what nebraska did with a power running game compaired to wco and tell me what else am I to think... Everyone is saying give COach C a few years to get his players in and then it will all change, well that is all nice and dandy but is Nebraska turning into one of those teams that is only good every 4th year then rebuild....wait then go to a bowl.
  13. Think of it on the bright side now that Callahan is standing on the sidelines you will have fewer games to hear people complaining about nebraska football. no big 12 champ, and dream on about a bowl game
  14. Frank isnt coming back but oh god please take Callahan away and cos with him.... I thought when they fired a coach they hired a new one, not this time fire solich and hire a retard and his buddy
  15. What happens when Callahan cant get the top picks in the NCAA? then he will have to deal with the kind of talent that Osborn and solich had and won with.... Gasp could it be that Callahan just cant coach???? He coached some of the best players of all time in the NFL and what happened he got fired.... Face it Callahan isnt a coach he can recruit but he isnt a coach
  16. I think that it best you actually step back and think about it, loosing to UT or OU is alot different than loosing by 60 or even 21 to texas tech....
  17. You cant put this all on the players, they are only doing as the coaching staff tells them, and im not sure that the coaching staff knows what they are doing.
  18. Great Idea lets wait 4 to 6 years to make it to a bowl (any bowl) then have to start over and wait another 4 to 6 years to go to another bowl... The WCO is a joke, Callahan has a talent for taking teams with winning records and turning them into a loosing team, look at the raiders
  19. Then you have coaches that cant make it in the NFL or College( callahan )
  20. agree, I Hope that we can beat Iowa State
  21. Alot of what if's, I think we have the talent but I don't think we have this system or this coaching staff. Thank god someone else can see what the true problem is
  22. I love to hear with some good recruiting Callahan will make wco work I cant disagree enough, Callahan is not only getting out played he is getting out coached and badly.... ITs as if after half time no adjustments are made and we stay in the same weak sets down after down.... ever wonder why he was fired from the raiders?
  23. My question is were you all super positive last year with solich? Did you agree with him getting fired and how it was done? Alot of the people that say be positive are ones that were negative as hell last year. It's a message board and we can voice our opinions. Me and many others think that Callahan isn't doing a very good job and has plenty of talent to win. He is flat out getting out coached. Thank God someone who can see what is going on
  24. It's hard to consider us a good football team when u look back a game or 2 and see you lost by 60. Good teams can have bad loses. Lets look back a few years, I would say that Texas has been a good team over the past five years but yet they have had a few lopsided loses to Oklahoma. Does that not make them a good team. According to your criteria it means they are not a good team. Alittle different my friend. For one they didn't lose by 60 points and for two oklahoma was one of the top teams in nation, texas tech is far from a top team in the nation. I don't see much difference between a 60 point lose and a 52 point loss. Both are ass whoopings. Plus I think talent difference between Oklahoma and Texas was very similar to the difference between Nebraska and Tech. My point being, you can't look at one game and decide if we are a good team or not. I agree that the talent difference wasn't different between the 2 teams but the coaching was. stoops outcoached brown and leach outcoached callahan. This is True, Yet Calllahan states in the press after the Texas TEch loss, The players didnt play very well.... What about I didnt coach very well?
