  1. I don't get this part of your post. Are you thinking that by having a popular basketball team will pull away from ticket sales from the football team? If you are I highly doubt that. I know a lot of people that would readily get season tickets for both if both were mediocre at best and already do. I don't think anyone is expecting Nebraska basketball to win the NCAA tourney, it would just be nice if we were routinely in the mid-to upper tier of the Big 10 Conference and make the tourney every 3-4 years and heck even win a tourney game for once. If we could work our way to where McDermott has taken Creighton everyone would be very happy.
  2. It would be a very Nebrasketball thing for us to go in and get a win that would mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. I'm taking Minnesota -7.5 and it will probably cost me .
  3. This would be my big worry too if I was an NU fan (I am an Illini fan so I guess it actually is my worry) but the Big Ten is HORRIBLE this year and the Huskers are 13th and I think they lost to the last place team. That is not a good sign. Love it! I get chills of horror every time I see the "Nebranois" kid. He reminds me of Chucky
  4. I think we've fallen in the regression category. After the first 3 conference wins we looked like world beaters, and now we look like a bunch of dead beaters.
  5. Man we look lackluster tonight. Things could get ugly if we lose the last 3 of the season which we are well on the way to. Uuugggghhhhh
  6. Just curious you throw out "easy money" far too much for this team, so how much do YOU actually take your own advice and bet these games. Ha...No...Most of the time I don't. Today I did be NU and I took NU at the half (-3)...but most of the time I am just f'ing around with the "easy money" picks. I am not even a Husker basketball fan but one of my best friends is the hugest Husker basketball fan ever so it is fun to mess with him a bit. Haha yeah there is no such thing as "easy money" with this team in terms of betting. They are all over the place in relation to betting.
  7. Wish this game was on BTN. Last ESPN covered game it seemed like the announcers didn't even care about the game on the court.
  8. Any word on Roby's ankle and how it is doing?
  9. I'd love to see Jack get a dunk! Jordy has greatly improved from the beginning of the season. Looks like Morrow is still shaking off some rust.
  10. Hopefully we can get the win tonight and make a little run towards the end of the season to end with some momentum into the conference tourney.
  11. We need to start beating the teams we should beat. Prior to the season starting I was expecting us to be in the middle or higher part of the conference with the talent we have, not 2nd to last and having lost to said last team.
  12. Hate to be "that guy" but it has been that kind of year.
  13. So 1 more year? Yeah if not much changes by end of year next year I think it might be time to move on, as much as I hate to say it. Doesn't appear much of anything is changing this year.
  14. Didn't watch last night due to being a little under the weather. Sounds like I saved myself another night of heartache. On to next year!
  15. Tai Webster is the furthest thing from this teams problem. Without him we would really be struggling even more than we are now. Kind of starting to feel like a lost season and the mantra of "wait till next year" gets stronger and stronger.
  16. Yeah we threw those hopes away with this game for sure. Too many players being to streaky to do much. Even Watson at times looks like NBA level talent, then other nights seems out to lunch. ON TO NEXT YEAR!!
  17. Who is going to show up tonight? The team that beat Purdue, Indiana and Maryland, or the team that lost to Rutgers, Ohio St. and Gardner Webb. Hopefully we play like we are capable and we'll have Ty Lue in the house tonight. Big Game! GBR!!!
  18. I wouldn't say a huge bucket. He may have thrown half a beer on it to knock down the flames a bit. If the season keeps going though like how it has been after this game....well.....it will still be pretty hot. I would say that if his teams keep being as inconsistent as this one and teams in years past there will always be some warmth on his seat. I don't expect us to be at the top of the Big 10 every year but staying mid pack or better would be nice. Not losing to basement dwellers of the conference would be nice. Hopefully that 5 game losing streak was just a weird "glitch." Only time will tell I guess.
  19. Huge gut check win for this young team. Very proud of the effort by Jordy and Jacobsen. Shows a glimmer of what is possible with this team. Hopefully we can build on it with some consistency and beat the teams we are supposed to. Tim Miles just poured a huge bucket of ice water on his "hot seat" which I was briefly thinking about after the Northwesten game. Nothing like getting your emotions jerked around by being a Husker basketball fan.
  20. I agree, one more year for Tim and it's time to "S" or get off the pot.
  21. All of it was Pettaway, won't see that kind of player for a long time around here. The Morrow excuse is done with, don't want to here that anymore. Young team? Another one. Just wait until next year, but no just wait until the year after that. It's old and tired I agree that we shouldn't be using the Morrow injury as an excuse. Every team in every league has to deal with injuries. Sure losing him might swing one or 2 games in the other direction, but with the talent we have there's no reason we should be losing to Gardner Webb, Rutgers and Ohio State. I've cooled off on the whole "Fire Time Miles" thought, but it is troubling that we always play to the level of our competition. I rarely recall us ever blowing out a team that we clearly have more talent than. I'd like to see him have at least one more season, and if by the end of next year we haven't been back in the tourney or a serious bubble team then I think I could endorse a hard look at making a change.
  22. That and the fact that his team is very young this year and Morrows injury.
  23. This is getting so frustrating that I wouldn't even care if they canned Miles and I've been one of his biggest fans until now. No offense, questionable lineups, and he seems like he's grasping at straws and doesn't know what to do. Yeah he took us to the NCAA tourney a few years ago but how much of that was Pettaway just playing out of his mind? Hopefully we'll find our way without Morrow but I'm not holding my breath. Uggghhhhh
  24. Time for a Tim Miles patented win we shouldn't win tonight!
  25. To have a chance I'm thinking we'd have to get really hot from outside. Swanigan and their "backup" 7' white dude are surely licking their chops.
