  1. I have the opposite problem - the school's wellness committee keeps shoving green smoothies and other health food down our throats.  One time the announced before hand some sort of healthy frozen ice cream substitute, so I made sure I brought a half pint of Ben and Jerry's butter pecan ice cream on hand to eat in front of them.  Several teachers wanted to know where I got it

Most fun:  First trip to Northwestern.
Most satisfying:  OU game at night about 10 years ago
Loudest:  OU game at night about 10 years ago
Most disappointing:  The last 3 years
    Best OT:  Can't really remember.

You should really cut back on drinking before and during the game if you black out before the end of the game:rollin

  3. Maybe have a caveat that if the conference champion has 3 or more losses that they be replaced with another contender.  At that point they would have a slightly better than 75% win percentage (13-3)

Yes I'm looking at you Wisconsin

  4. Quote

That a former director of the CIA, president of a major university and soon-to-be secretary of defense would post on a message board devoted primarily to college athletics shattered the popularly held notion that most users lived in their mother's basement with nothing better to do than obsess over sports. In fact, the truth is quite the opposite, with at least one study finding the average poster to be upper middle class and college educated.

Does the term college alum ring a bell?  I realize you can be a fan of a college football team and never set foot on the campus, but I think that a higher than random expectation of poster for many universities (except Nebraska, of course) would support / be interested in the school they went to.

Thanks.  I was looking back through Toe's link to try and answer HuKSer, but it's pretty much all over the place in terms of where he was and when.  I knew he was definitely here for the glory days.

Thanks that's pretty much what I was looking for. I had found that he left for private business in 2001.

I was actually wondering if he was forced out in one of the regime changes but it looks like he came and went on his own terms.

Edit: I meant to quote In the Deed, but oh well

I'm here in Nebraska and laugh at some people in my hometown who claim "heritage".  I know their families, they were German immigrants in the late 1800's.

Maybe they were from southern Germany?

I think this is a good thing.

    1.  Jordy was not good on either end of the floor

    2.  This SHOULD force Miles to play up and down, fast and aggressive.  I think the Skers will win a lot of games with that style.

I actually agree with all of this

Weighed in at 201 lbs this AM.  Down from 218 earlier this spring.  I'd like to drop another 10 lbs or so to be at 190.

I haven't really been on a strict diet or anything.  I just cut back on portions, have been eating more vegetables and fruits, and haven't been eating as much meat or bread.  I'd probably be doing better, except I refuse to give up ice cream or whiskey.  :)

Portion control is the key - don't go to buffets, use a smaller plate, no seconds, etc

Diets fail because of the weird "forbidden" foods that make no long term sense.

In his new role at Nebraska, Brown will serve in a non-coaching role, mentoring Husker football student-athletes in numerous off-field development areas. Brown will work closely with Nebraska’s nationally renowned Life Skills program and assist in community outreach efforts of Husker football players and staff.

“Coach Brown had a tremendous impact on me during my playing career at Nebraska, and I am sure he will have a similar impact on many young men in our football program in the years ahead,” Frost said. “Coach Brown understands Nebraska and what makes this a great place for student-athletes to grow and learn in all areas.”

Brown will bring 31 years of college coaching experience to the Nebraska football staff. Brown coached for four seasons at his alma mater, Brown University, before his 24 seasons at Nebraska and the past three years at Liberty.

You mean he was so good in college, they renamed the university after him?

I get what you're saying, but I think (and I could absolutely be wrong) the owner of this business is the real villain here.  I think she jumped the gun and offered a position, probably based on acquiring some new lucrative deal, and the deal fell through.  When the deal fell through, she told the HR person to find a way to cancel the hire.  That is why the HR person took days to get back to @sho...the HR person needed time to come up with an excuse.  When HR person decided to use the transcripts being "possibly faked" that was when HR person called Sho back and informed him of the rescinded offer.  Again, I have no idea what really happened here, but I have been around long enough to know how the world works.

And @sho...I don't have any practical advice for you, but I did want to express my condolences because I know what you're going through.  I hope things work out for you.

Now this makes sense - total of 3 new employees in a start up.  I can see this happening
