One thing that hurts is there is no go to guy. Pilkington has stone hands now for some reason. Fluellen has got to be out there only because he is fast. Le Flore and Nunn are decent 2nd and 3rd receivers, but there is no clear #1 target to throw to.

From what I have heard about Mueller from people that played football with him in high school is that's all he is is big. He is a slug, maybe runs the 40 in 5 seconds flat. If he was better than Kaiser, he would be playing right now.

Not to mention 30 and 40 yard passes. The defense played like crap the first half, but in the second half they pulled it together and made some big stops. The secondary was pretty soft all game. The defensive line got to the quarterback A LOT and made him scramble and throw hurried.

You say what you want about Joe Dailey. That kid played his heart out yesterday. He made a bunch of good plays. He threw SEVERAL passes that were very catchable that were dropped, or hit the ground without the receiver laying out for the ball(Fluellen). He took off and ran a few times when everyone was covered and picked up some big yards. On a 3rd and 15 he picked up 13 to make it a short 4th and 2 to go for. He had a touchdown taken away from him by a bogus call from the refs. He made a few bad throws, and the one interception at the worst possible time. I was at the game yesterday and the game in Ames in 2002. VERY DIFFERENT. The Huskers showed heart in coming back yesterday. A Solich team that had no air attack would have gone into the fetal position and continue to take a beating. Joe Dailey may not be Matt Leinart or Aaron Rodgers, but he is all that Nebraska has right now and the kid is playing his ass off and getting better.

I would agree. Panico is not very good ay making anyone miss, but on most punts the blockers don't even give him a chance to make a move.

It all rest on which defence shows up for the skers will it be the TTech and Kstate team or the BlackShirts that we seen last week I think you have it right on. I think that the defense from last week is here to stay. The defense played with confidence and it was a lot of fun to watch those guys making plays. Hopefully the offense can move the ball a little better than last week.

I just don't think we can beat any kind of quality team, especially on the road. Kind of like last year? okie state and miss. were quality teams. Teams that would kill us this year. Mississippi is average at best without baby Manning and Okie State is good, but not great.

I think Oklahoma has been given too much credit this season. Peterson has been money all year, but Jason White can't carry that team if the run is shut down. I don't see any reason why the Huskers can't beat them if they play an error free game. That is a big IF, but I will watch and cheer just the same.

Funny stuff. Ricketts made a huge play against A & M in '02 to put a receiver out of the game and fired up the defense for the comeback. Last year wasn't that bad, but I remember driving 3 hours to Ames to watch Rickets make Lane Danielsen look like Jerry Rice.

I read that too, I find it hard to believe that if the North champ was 6-6 that a bowl game would be denied by the NCAA after North Texas got a bowl game with a losing record. I don't think it will matter though, because the Huskers are gonna win at least 2 more. IMO

Benard, I actually agree with you. It seems as if in the midst of learning the West Coast Offense, Dailey forgot how to run with the ball. In the Utah State game last year, he put a couple jukes on that were pretty incredible on a run he had. Granted, it was Utah State, but he looked confident running. I just wish the kid could remember that.

He is terrible, get a clue. we have a better chance of letting it bounce and hoping it bounces backwards. You can't tell me out of 100 and some guys that play division 1 football that no one else can catch a ball. Give me a break. Worst returner I have ever seen in my life. Worse than Pittman who fumbled twice in the opening game? I would say so yes. I think he just had first game jitters. I mean dang he has almost as many yards as panico in one game as panico does in the whole year. He broke one for 36 yards. Give the guy another shot or someone else. Panico is by no means great but he hangs onto the ball and catches it everytime, sometimes the difference between a win and a loss. It's better than having a guy back there with playmaking ability and butter hands. Hey Benard, how bout that Tony Temple, he sure torched the Huskers didn't he?
