  1. So....let's just play this out a bit differently. Let's say TM didn't throw these 3 INTs. Let's say we didnt' score either, but survived until 4th down and got some Maher punts down the field, defense doesn't get deflated by the O giving Wisky the ball in scoring position - again. So we've still got 14, Wisky has 20. This is all on Martinez. If he completes those passes instead of throwing INTs we all talk about how great the play calling was. We're fine. Just not executing.
  2. They could call holding now that they're up 20
  3. Too easy. I'll let someone else clean this one up.
  4. Nebraska 37 Wisconsin 44 Rushing: 175 Passing: 225 Wisconsin up early, going to take the Huskers too long to wake up in the second half. Maybe in 6 quarters we win, but 4 won't be enough.
  5. I'm paying about $480/yr total for all of my seats.....but they're all in my living room.
  6. I like reading articles like these. Such a nice change from the rumormill crap. Rex sounds like the guy who would make a great coach some day.
  7. I never really gave two consecutive moments of thought to Iowa until I was driving through one day and stopped at a gas station. The attendant wouldn't turn the pump on until I removed my Huskers cap. Unbelievable. Of course after pumping the gas I put it back on along with my Huskers jacket that was in my car, and walked inside to pay. I've never seen such seething hatred before. It was absolutely amazing. This was like 2 years ago -- so it's not like there was any particular reason for them to be bitter with us. I was just a bit taken back. You can bet Iowa will be gunning for us, rival or not.
  8. Elvis Presley - Ready Teddy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sS9zuIi470 Not bad for like 475 years ago.
  9. Horse crap. That's all I read there. Nebraska hasn't lost anything except for the respect of some of the Big 12 schools. They're just bitter, let them be. Pelini was a raving mad man, I agree. How many husker fans were sitting at home yelling at their TVs as much if not more than Pelini was yelling at those refs? It was WARRANTED. I'm not saying all 16 flags were BS. The majority of them were legit. Pelini wasn't livid about those. He was pissed about the others.
  10. You do? Your name is huskerindallas. Just thought I'd point that out.
  11. I was going to post about Big 12 screwing Nebraska's schedule strength, etc, but let's look quickly at the 1996 Congrove Computer Rankings for the to-be North: 3 - Nebraska 7 - Colorado 18 - Kansas State 60 - Missouri 70 - Kansas 98 - Iowa State South: 25 - Texas 33 - Texas Tech 43 - Texas A&M 63 - Oklahoma State 72 - Baylor 85 - Oklahoma *** NO WONDER HE WANTED TO CONTINUE HIS RIVALRY WITH TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA STATE!!!! *** 1996 - Huskers won 73-21 in Norman 1995 - Huskers won 37-0 in Lincoln 1994 - Huskers won 13-3 in Norman 1993 - Huskers won 21-7 in Lincoln 1992 - Huskers won 33-9 in Norman 1991 - Huskers won 19-14 in Lincoln 1990 - Huskers lost 10-45 in Norman (9-3 that year, losing to Colorado, Oklahoma and then 21-45 to Georgia Tech in the Citrus Bowl)
  12. Here's your $399 laptop. It happens to be the exact one I'm using right now, too. I got mine for $349 last year but $399 is still great.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115858&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL120210&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL120210-_-EMC-120210-Index-_-LaptopsNotebooks-_-34115858-L0B
  13. Do you mean the offense that put up 17 against South Dakota State or the offense that put up 13 against a 7 loss Texas team this year?
  14. I'll hop in on this one with an unpopular opinion. Go to the wedding. Weddings happen ONCE. You can DVR the game and enjoy it just as much - other than you'll probably know who won by then, which can be a spoiler. I got married on a game day and was pretty annoyed that some of my "friends" didn't bother coming to my wedding. Granted, it was OK State at Arrowhead in 1998 and not the last Big 12 Championship game that Nebraska will ever be in, possibly the last game against Oklahoma in the forseeable future ..... Hmm....watch the game. You can watch the wedding on DVD afterwards. No...wait....go to the wedding. Bah....you make the call.
  15. I play volleyball and often called my injuries "turf toe" when my big toe bent UNDER my foot and I basically stepped on it. Happens a lot in sand/grass when you're not wearing shoes. Anyway. Hurts both ways I'm sure. From Wikipedia.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turf_toe Turf toe is a surface level condition characterized by a painful, red, swollen great toe caused by acute inflammation of the tendons on both the dorsal and plantar surfaces, often seen in those who play football, rugby, ultimate frisbee, beach soccer and wrestling.[1] An injury can result in acute and chronic pain (specifically, to the plantar capsular ligamentous complex), resulting in time lost from sports participation for a short- or long-term period. Classification of this injury is based on clinical findings and imaging studies, including plain radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging.[2]
  16. Volleyball does have a trophy presentation: Men's basketball would appear to have a Big 12 trophy presentation: Women's basketball also appears to have a trophy on hand: Women's soccer even has a trophy: But I think we'd all agree the most incriminating is this one -- I wasn't convinced there was actually a trophy for a divisional title, but it looks like our friend Mr. Beebe is presenting a trophy in the Husker locker room after we clinched the Big 12 north title just last year, 2009: However, to be impartial, we didn't have the Big12 North clinched this year in football or volleyball. A loss by either team would have awarded the divisional trophy in football to Missouri and the conference title in volleyball to Texas.
  17. And how many of those 5 were terribly under-thown? Prince had good coverage but didn't get his head turned around in time. I think if he'd turned to look he would have picked at least 2 of those 5 off. I'm sure he learned this from watching tape of that game. (like tape is used anymore...I suppose their tape is now HD on a 50 foot screen)
  18. I say let everyone in the Big12 rally around the Sooners all they want to in order to spite the red turncoats. That all adds pressure to OU and they haven't played well under pressure lately. They also haven't played well at Arlington. I watched the 2000 and 2006 games with OU today -- we are WAY better now on BOTH sides of the ball. Watching Crouch was eerily similar to watching Martinez. I don't recall if Crouch was healthy in 2000 -- but they shut him down hard, especially in the 2nd half. In 2006 our offense was absolutely atrocious. I'm feeling pretty good about this game. 34-6 Huskers.
  19. Stats can be deceiving. Couple the average plays per game on offense with the number of plays per game the defense has to play and compare those. Nebraska averaged 65.3 plays per game - BUT - our opponents only averaged 65.8 plays per game - second lowest in the Big12 behind Texas at 65.3 plays per game. All it really means is we slow the game down and in so doing, we're taking points off the board on both sides. It also shows that the most pass-happy offenses run more plays. Makes sense since the clock is stopped half the time. Reference: N.C.A.A. Season-To-Date Game Lengths/Plays Thru 27-NOV-10 You could also couple number of plays run with number of points scored. In that list, you'd see Nebraska is #2 behind Oklahoma State. Reference: N.C.A.A. Season-To-Date #2 Average Listing Thru 27-NOV-10 Offense Team Plays Points Points per Play OK State 76.8 539 7.02 Nebraska 65.3 405 6.2 K State 65.6 403 6.14 Baylor 72.3 391 5.41 Missouri 70.3 364 5.18 OK 87.7 450 5.13 TX Tech 80.8 385 4.76 TX A&M 80.9 382 4.72 Colorado 70.6 290 4.11 TX 73.2 285 3.89 Iowa St 69 260 3.77 Kansas 68.6 205 2.99 Of course, none of this really means anything -- it's just interesting. If we could figure out from stats who was going to win the game, we wouldn't bother playing it.
  20. I think Green did an awesome job when the week's preparation called for a gameplan that fit with him. When he's come in to replace TM for some reason we don't adjust our play calling and we look absolutely terrible. (SW - listening?) One question I have - why is TM just standing on the sidelines with smirks on his face? Shouldn't he be helping call plays in and stuff? While TM was playing I regularly saw both Cody and Zac standing together helping on the sideline. It bothers me that he just stands there with a chip on his shoulder. There was one particular shot of him standing next to Niles Paul during the Colorado game. You could have frozen time and put a couple of cartoon text bubbles over them saying something like "Wow, they did it without us." I'm not anti-TM or anti-NP ... but it just seems like we saw a different Husker team -- a TEAM -- against Colorado. It really seemed to me like they came together and worked together. Having all stars is great, but when they're out it makes such a huge dent.

If I lived in Dallas I'd go for whatever the ticket price was. I found tickets online for like $500/ea on row 1 on the 50. It made me think, gosh, I wish I had $1500 to waste, I'd take my boys to the big game. But then I'd have to get there, get home, blah blah blah .... just doesn't make sense because I don't have enough cents. If I were you I'd blow the $100 in a heartbeat and go, regardless of whether or not you could see the game. DVR it and watch it when you get home. You won't be able to go to another NU/OU game - the only way it will happen is if it's the NC game....possible, but with BCS improbable.
