  1. I don't think the coaching is nearly as bad as many people think. We simply don't have the talent to compete with the Ohio St's and Alambama's of college football and our offensive line is really banged up. It's hard to win games when your line is trashed. I guarantee you a GREAT coach doesn't get rolled like that. Rileys offense has been inconsistent everywhere he's been. Good 1 qtr, bad for 2, that's not winning football. I'm not sure that will ever change under him. It's why he's a .500 coach.
  2. Osborne routinely did this. They are trying to win a championship. No problem here. GET BETTER.
  3. IMO, there is nothing they can change, except lots of winning, to make me truly like these coaches. I think his schemes, stink. They are just not conducive to consistent, winning football. It's so sporadic and always has been with Riley teams, that's why he is a .500 coach, long term. I'm not expecting much from these guys. We'll see!
  4. The older you get, the faster they go........
  5. All of those offenses sucked balls when they were ever forced to do anything. They were S T U F F E D by every good defense it saw. The 2008 offense sucked as well. It was nothing when it had to be. Hate to be negative, but none of those offense were any good whatsoever!
  6. I can only base things on what I see, and outside OSU, the Big 10 is slow on overall team speed. Hell, Wisconsin's TB's are high 4.5 to 4.6 guys, just bruiser type backs. Your not gonna get the edge on the fast teams, period.
  7. Those NU teams in the 90's were as fast as anyone. Once we moved away from the big slow concept starting in 1993, no one was claiming we couldnt run. We ran a punishing style of offense with fast athletes and an attacking, agressive style of defense with smaller, faster athletes. I'm way old enough to remember those teams, trust me. Also, I never said NU was gonna win each and every game in the Big 101112, it probably wont, but it will have an an overall speed advantage in team speed over just about anyone it plays. Wisconsin's defense doesnt run like NU's does, neither does Iowa, or Michigan, or Michigan State, or Penn State. Ohio State may be the lone exception.
  8. Oh common man, TCU played a schedule full of cream puffs. Lets not make TCU out to be some world beater, they aren't. Wisconsin was by far and away the best team they played. Those two teams have comparable athletes, it was a close game, just like it should have been. Its fair to say we disagree on this issue. I have always thought the Big 10 was a slow confrence as a whole, and I stand by that. The Big 10 does not run like the SEC or the Big 12 or even the Pac 12. There are exceptions, but they are far few in between.
  9. Well, if you were paying attention, Alberts was playing rush end at 235lbs in 1993 and was an all-american and Butkus award winner and led the team and confrence in sacks.
  10. Feel free to come off however you want to, I can take it. I stand by what I said about Wisconsin being an overall slow team. It goes for the entire Big 10. Watch them play. I mean, most of the teams in the Big 10 lack overall team speed and it really shows in Bowl season every year. They prefer a bruising, grinding style of play, which is fine, but come time to play a team that can really run, they have serious issues. Ohio State is probably the fastest team in the Big 10, and they even look a bit slow at times. Just because you put in a 200lb LB, doesnt mean he can run. It's a HUGE reason why the Big 10 has 2 NC's in over 40+ years (and both of those were flukes). They just cannot run. These teams are gonna have trouble with the team speed NU presents. Sorry, the truth cuts deep at times!
  11. No different than last year when it faced KSU, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Mizzou.
  12. It will. NU is on the fast track to greatness, trust me. It is getting healthier and healthier day by day. It's just a matter of time, and it will not be long!
