  1. Well, I'm not sure if this has been reported here yet. But, I've just learned that Steve Kriewald has been signed to a 2-year contract with Tampa Bay after a 2-week camp there which he attended. Found this article at PewterReport.com http://www.pewterreport.com/article.asp?ac...=1609&category= -tK (sorry if this has been posted before)
  2. woops, sorry for wrong board guys! I think the thing I like about Weis, is that it seems his attitude is more of a "lets get the job done with the guys we have, and we'll try and get some good recruits too," instead of something like "lets rely entirely on recruiting to have a good team."
  3. My opinion.. it's still up for grabs. Dailey did struggle this season, but HB / ZT are freshmen. I think with HB / ZT / and JD all competing, they will all get better in the off season. I think the only way Dailey will get moved down will be if a. he doesn't improve much or b. one of these freshman just looks outstanding.
  4. Now that guy (Charlie Weis) impressed the hell out of me in his press conference. He said he's going to turn their team into a "nasty" team, hehe. I think that's the kinda thing we need to get back.. at least on defense. We definitely need some nastiness. I dunno about you guys but I expect to see them (Notre Dame) in a BCS bowl in the next few years. Good to see they found a good coach after the Ty Willingham fiasco. edit: found quote "How fast or how well we get and how long it takes to get to the top, I'm not giving you those answers. I'm not going to predict that. But I can tell you this. You are going to have a hard-working, intelligent, nasty football team that goes on the field because the attitude of the head coach will be permeated through the players." http://und.collegesports.com/sports/m-foot.../121304aaa.html
  5. yes, that was one of the oddities of this season.
  6. Woops, yeah.. if we beat Colorado, we'd be 6-5, if we would've gone to Big 12 game then, if we lost we'd be 6-6.. but (i'm young forgive me), don't you need a winning record to become bowl eligible (without a petition), or do you just have to not have a losing season?
  7. You could play the tunnel walk song as he comes into the office.
  8. Ya know, it's true that not going to the Big 12 title game will (if we beat CU) make us bowl eligible. But, I for one would like it a whole lot better if we went, gave OU a run for their money, and even if we lost.. if we played tough, it would be more gratifying to me to see that, even if we didn't go to a Bowl game.
  9. ..on that note. Hastings College pulled of a huge win on Saturday against Lindenwood
  10. I'm wondering what the deal with BC is. He's a fiery SOB after the game, but doesn't show one drop of emotion on the sidelines. Of course I don't see everything, but whenever I see him, his head's buried in his playbook, and isn't even looking at what's going on on the field. (* I know this is somewhat of an exaggeration *) But, does he even care about the team this year? All I keep hearing from coaches is.. its' been an unfortunate year, but the future looks bright.. Yeah it does, but the present could be much better if you cared about the current team. I just hope this attitude from coaches doesn't carry over to future seasons.
  11. Even if they are "me me me", I'm sure his experiences with NFL players would probably help out a bit there.
  12. i'm still think BC is a toss-up. Haven't seen much to make me think he's the end-all answer to NU football. Having said that, he is bringing in some nice recruits and we'll see in the next couple years what he's gonna do. I just don't think the players right now can, or want to, play in his offensive scheme. The defense is another story. I'm not a big fan of Cosgrove... at all. I think what he's done with the black-shirts is a shame. The only time we really looked like the black-shirts was against Missouri... and I don't think that had much to do with Cosgrove's coaching. Maybe I'm being too quick to judge Cosgrove, and its' true that if our offense could stay on the field for more than 3 plays, they might do better... but i still say our defense took a turn for the worse with Cosgrove.
  13. Don't count us out of getting the passing game going. If we could just stop being horrible on 3rd downs I think our passing game would come along well. Maybe ISU will let us do that today.
  14. It makes sense to me that in an offense with more of an emphasis on passing, that you would need a bit more room for your starters... who knows, i might be totally wrong.
  15. Bottom line is, it's a WARM-UP. The players who will be playing (or have a good chance of playing) in the game, should be warming up.. There is absolutely no reason for any other players to warm up, except for their parents to say "Oooh there's my boy out there", pointless. Let them work heard and earn their position in the depth chart.. then the parents have someting to "Ooooh, and Aaah" about. As for players not being in to it on the sidelines, I've never really paid attention to how the players were behaving on the sidelines. They probably are just not going to be that excited until we see the WCO paying off, but if it's a result of them not being able to warm up, or not getting enough attention at practice.. they need to grow up and work harder and prove themselves. Anyway, all just my humble opinions.
  16. Uhmm, are you trying to say Callahans' recruits aren't as good as everyone says they are? Well, all of Callahans' recruits are TRUE FRESHMEN. Come on, give him a break.
  17. This list appears to have been posted at 12:35am, which would be before any of saturdays game... not sure what the point of it was really.. maybe it was the previous weeks top performers, which.. dailey definitely would not have been on. But, yes.. it is very hard to get recognition when you lead the nation in turn-overs. At this point, I'm not so sure he deserves alot of recognition, but he seems to be improving.
