Not sure how many times we have to say this for it to sink it -- personal attacks are not allowed, which includes name calling, i.e. "stupid". Grow up. Sorry, it slipped. Didn't call him stupid, just asked if he was. Sorry, won't happen again. I guess you will have to be the judge of that as I thought this was a place we could express our opinions. I did not realize that anyone that might have a difference of opinion of the great st. bernard needed to get his approval first. Take a chill pill bernie, we will have plenty to talk about very soon. If you need to call someone stupid or ask if someone is stupid, you can pick on me because in a battle of wits you, my friend, are unarmed.

I could be wrong but I took the comment as a sign of respect for the sooners. He will always be remembered by the hillbilly remark until he defeats the big red of the south. To name a physical drill after our greatest rival is not only showing respect to their program (not fear, respect), but I believe he is trying to tell our kids when we start being a dominate and physical team like that we can change the name to the HUSKER (just a guess on my part). Give them something to think about each day they leave practice knowing they have stepped one step closer to the unbelievable feeling of CHAMPION. I was not a big fan of the way things turned out with Frank, but my support for the team no matter how we turn out this year or any year will never waver. That said, My support is not blind. I do not and will not respect pedey until he makes ammends by having that sh#t eating used car salesmans grin surgically removed from his face. I do not expect him to appologise because he made a decision, I would like to see him address the Fans, players and coaches and say "look, right wrong or indifferent the decision I made is done. I as the head of the athletic department of the greatest school in the nation felt a move had to be made. Was it right or wrong? each of us will have our own opinions on that. Do I regret the turmoil that the decision brought upon the HUSKER NATION? YES. Would I do things maybe a little bit different in the future? Maybe, each situation is different but as all of you are my witness I will be a little more aware that the HUSKER NATION is bigger than any of us or our personal goals or egos and make sure that the HUSKER NATION will never be embarassed by what was percieved as some under hand dealing ever again on my watch. Now lets unite and support these young men as they start the next century of NEBRASKA FOOTBALL ,GO BIG RED." I give cally a couple of more years to get things rolling with not only the players he recruits but with the players we had before and teaches them and brings us back to glory. The days of having a streak like T.O. had are more than likely gone I believe. The recruiting restrictions are makeing the college game a lot closer then anyone could have thought. I see cally making a move in the next couple of years to a position of HUSKER lore if he can pull this off and bring us back to our rightfull position as one of the elite teams in the country. After a long winter, I always feel more optimistic and excited. I hope the players, coaches and fans realize that they/we have a chance to be the first team to start another great run. We can no longer live in the past, do not forget it-dust it off and remember the past glory when needed, but then refocus on the very bright and open future that we as THE HUSKER NATION have. There will be bumps in the road and the champions of the future are the ones that get back up and try again and again. Lets do our part and if you are able to, get a ticket to the spring game and let the new and old players know that they have the best fans anywhere/any sport, and sell this game out and set the new record for a spring game. I am there and I will not be wearing green. It is spring football time and before we know it we will be starting what we will call the begining of the end to the people that thought that a wounded HUSKER is not FULL OF FIGHT. The PROUD HUSKER NATION begins their come back tomorrow, let the fear begin to rise in our division, conference and the entire ncaa football world. I remember going to a game when I got to see Remington walk within 5-10 feet of me and I couldn't believe the size of that stud. What an awesome player and person. I met him a few years ago and was again just as impressed.

I just want to wish all of you HUSKER fans a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We at times may disagree on a lot of topics but we are all joined by a common thread OUR LOVE OF THE HUSKERS.

I believe wake forest is div 1. I thought the same about western illinois when I saw they were on our schedule. IMO since div 2 schools cannot go to any of the bowls, I do not feel any of the games played against a div 2 school should count with wavers or not. I know that it is a good payday for the schools like maine to jump up and play div 1 schools and they get great experience playing better compitition, but what good does it do us to play them. We risk injury in a meaningless game. our players came to div 1 to play against the best out there. Dont get me wrong there are some real talented players in div 2, but for the price of tickets and the game day experience I would like to see us play better compitition. I have just never been a fan of playing these types of teams.

I am realistic and my belief is you do not get better playing push overs. I am glad you like padding our schedule but dont think I have to be happy about playing these pu**y teams and then brag about how we made a great turn around and sneaking into a bowl game.

Maine - come on, what in the hell is pedey boy thinking. We might be better off with a home date compared to a road trip financialy but what does playing maine do for recruiting. Have we ever had a player from maine on our team. It looks like stevie wonder learned his scheduling ability from an on line course from kansas state. Does he think that our team is so bad that we need a confidence boost. If so why not ask to play the winner of the army east/west allstar game. I had a friend from mich. call and ask me what happened to the mighty Huskers and if we now have to play sub-par opponents in order to be bowl eligible. Is beating a school like maine something to be proud of. I know that there are times when you have to fill a spot but come on MAINE. Lets get out the friggen hockey sticks. Are we going to ask new hampshire or montanna to play us in 2006. I want the Huskers to be winners but not against teams like this. Playing teams of this caliber will do nothing for us but give the pollsters something else to look down on us for. Under pedeys leadership, the next championship we win will be NAIA

Thanks for the effort. Do not hang your heads, you did the best you could with the leadership you had. You can look yourselves in the mirror and say I played for one of the greatest programs in the history of college football. Keep your heads up true HUSKER fans still LOVE YOU. I think that every team we play is looking at the past and seeing what we did to them and believe that they have a chance at redemption, so we get their best game. We need to show up on both sides of the ball with a gut burning fire that we used to have. If we can do that and get a break hear and there we can still win the north and get a respectable bowl. if not it looks like this post season

This is a good point, in years past, our team went into a game with the edge over the other team. They just knew they were going to win and there wasn't anything the other team could do to stop it. Now our team is wondering what is going to bite us in the ass this time. We can no longer live by our reputation because there is not a team out there that fears us.

I had the pleasure of taking a friends son to his first Husker game. It was the Kansas game, I wish his father could have gone also to see the look in that kids eyes. He was excited from the time we got out of the car and his excitment grew each step to the stadium. The Tunnel Walk and the fireworks after were the part that has brought another fan into the fold. He lives with his mother and step father in kansas and they fly a ksu flag outside their house on game day, but this kid now has plenty of Husker stuff to put up in his room. GO HUSKERS!!!!!

I think he realizes that the Husker Nation is football savy, and we will not be fooled with B.S. answers. I also think that he as a coach is beginning to understand that the talent level is not where it needs to be to run this type of offense. He needs to adjust his game plans to what our team is capable of doing. I am sure that he is getting frustrated with the mental errors and the lack of execution. These kids did know the basics of offense and defense and it is the coaches job to refine their skills to match his plans to a point. In a couple of years he will have the talent to be able to overcome a few mistakes and score at will with his offense, but untill then I think we may see a more animated coach, which may be a good thing. GO HUSKERS!!!!

I recall during the broadcast yesterday, the anouncers went to Matt Davidson on the side line and he reported that the Husker Defense had no fire and looked lathargic. This is a direct reflection on the preperation qualities of the coaching staff. With the north division still in this teams grasps there should be no problem having them ready to play. That said, these players should at look themselves in the mirror and ask themselves . These kids need to dig down and start playing like there is no tomorrow because in reality if we continue down this path tomorrow looks real bleak. We have four games left and in reality we should be able to compete in three of them. pederson made his choice and we will have to live with it for a few years, hopefully it will work out. HANG IN THERE HUSKERS we will always love you but lets at least look like we want to win. GO BIG RED!!!!!!

That was as tough a loss as I have had to listen to. We are not that good and we will be lucky to earn a bowl spot. That said, I am willing to give calahan the time he needs to turn this PROUD NATION back into the CHAMPIONS that we can be. As HUSKER fans, we can remain the best in football and support our team because not one of us wants to win more than they do. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!
