  1. I tried to post "2007 blackshirt highlights", but all that come up was: "no video can be found" wierd....
  2. I could understand your arguement for the top three teams, but since when did 3 of 12 become a lot? lol Even then I think that MU can play with or even beat the top 3. THey have proven over the past 3 years they can hang with SEC teams. Just ask Ole Miss, SC and Arkansas
  3. Really? Oklahoma and Colorado are the only matchups in which I would feel confident picking the Big 12 team. I give Florida, LSU, Auburn, Vandy, and Ole Miss clear advantages over the teams you've matched them up with and the rest are toss-ups. Don't get me wrong, I still think the Big 12 is the second best conference in the land, but there's no other conference that compares to the athleticism of SEC teams from top to bottom. On a side note, I would think if any big 12 fans would put the "best atheletes play in the SEC" thing to rest it would be Nebraska fans. I remember hearing just how fast they were back a number of years ago. How there were SOOOOOO fast they would blow the BIG SLOW farm team off the field.. You ALL know what I am talking about. Just go back and google the SI cover to see how the nation thought prior to that game. The big 12 is loaded with athletes also. I don't really think too many of the matchups are clear cut. But I watch ALOT of Big 12 and SEC football. I just can not see this being lopsided. Maybe its because MU has had some sucsess against SEC schools. I dont know. I just think that the teams are pretty even, but the big 12 offenses would be the difference. I think the difference between the big 12 O/sec O is greater than the big 12 D/sec D
  4. the big 12 matches up better than some would have you believe. The bottom half of the SEC is not that tough. South Carolina, Mississippi, Miss. St, Arkansas, Tennessee & Kentucky. Like others have said pair them up. Georgia/Oklahoma Florida/Missouri LSU/Texas Alabama/Texas Tech Auburn/Kansas Vandy/Oklahoma St. Kentucky/Colorado South Carolina/Nebraska Tennessee/Kansas St Mississippi/Baylor Arkansas/Iowa State Miss. St./Texas A&M I like the big 12's chances more than not. The SEC may be more top heavy, but I feel the big 12 is more balanced
  5. TT strikes again... BTW. HuskerfaninOkieland, every time you post i read your sig and laugh. every damn time
  6. heard those same comments before last years game too... love these too. BTW NU lost to MU by 35, aTm by 22, KU by 37 all last year. BUT last year doesn't matter right? OH, it only matters when you trying to make a point about a team last year that was 12-2 and finished in the top 5. OOOOOOhhhhh okay..... your right... your invincible. and by the way our record from 2 years ago didnt help us last year. I dont think MU will take a dive, but I didnt think we would either I was not saying anything about invincible. Lets face it. I am pretty down to earth and play devils advocate not just here but on MU boards. The point was, what does the past have to do with anything when it comes to this one game? Last year does not matter. streaks from 30 years ago dont matter. It is one team against another with THIS years players and coaches. The first comment I made was meant to be smart a**ed. Because quite frankly that was the number 1 reason every husker fan had for their reason NU would win last year. I just thought it was funny that the same thing was being said. MU's D is not as bad as many of you think. They are not dominate. NU's D is not a bad as last year. They are not dominate either. MU's offense is better than last years. The are dominate. Nu's O is better than last years. They are good, not dominate. Thats my take on the game. I think MU will score 40 or more. I dont see NU scoring as often. But really who knows. I do know few of you saw 41-6 last year coming, and I know few Tiger fans saw their team Sh**ing their pants in the first half 2 years ago. And yes Husker jock I do have plenty of nice things to say. I even said 2 weeks ago that NU would win against VT and I still firmly believe NU wins 7-8 games this year. I even posted it on this board. I am the kind of guy that if we are sitting at a bar or tailgatting you get my humor. On message boards it comes across alittle 'harsh' Its all good fellas/ladies. No disrespect intended. I like posting here. Enjoy the coversations. I like to hear opposing opinions and like to give mine. Thats all.

  8. said the guy with sponge bob as his avitar....
  9. that would be awsome. Then MU could take the snap 8 yrds deep and throw the ball the to corner before you ever touched them, then 1 of the 3 WR's with 4.4 speed or faster could race to see who can get to the end zone first. They might score 40 or higher with NU playing D, but this would guarentee 100+ pts. I like your strategy. lol I like the take um out on a stretcher comments too. I won't even touch the "G******* fans in sports" thing. Just funny how losing changes things....
  10. he has been crazy on fire the last three games. he was 36-43 today. over the last three games he is 75-88 for 1089 yrds, 9 tds & 0 ints. He is a gamer. I am pretty sure he will eat it up. I think NU will be more motivated for a game against a top 5 team and a team that but a whoopin on them last year more than a newspaper clipping anyway. plus as Ebyl said, he didnt say anything that every husker fan wasnt already saying. In fact i would argue that husker fan was harder on the NU defensive players and said worse things than daniel ever did
  11. You still can't do that once you get into conference play though. Maybe Mizzou didn't take UB as seriously as they should have or something..I don't know. All I can say is sloppy defense in two weeks will result in another Tiger squad choking in Lincoln. That is, assuming the Huskers don't piss it away..... That is right on. I am hoping that got since they were sloppy this week they got it out of their system
  12. dont jump the gun too much. 280 yrds of offense for buff. 14 pts against the D, 7 on kickoff, and MU left 14 off the board with 2 fumbles inside the buff 15. btw it was still a 42-21 game
  13. Mel, they just played pretty sloopy and didnt seem to be 'up' for the game. Mu fumbled on the buff 35, 10 & 15. a win is a win, but i would bet this serves as a wake up that you need to bring your 'A' game, every game.
  14. D has not been the issue in this game. Turnovers and a returned kickoff. But you are right, the D has yet to show any dominace. We will have to wait and see. It was the same thing last year before conference. have any of their scores been a result of a turnover? they have 7 pts off turnover and 7 for the kickoff return. Buffalo has 280 yrd of total O in 77 plays
  15. D has not been the issue in this game. Turnovers and a returned kickoff. But you are right, the D has yet to show any dominace. We will have to wait and see. It was the same thing last year before conference.
  16. yeah, i wasn't trying to be a party pooper or a buzz kill or anything. just something that i got to thinking about. Truth is I think NU will be alright. I really like their chances next week against VT. And as I said in another post, anything can happen. Tiger fans know that more than most. I am just happy to have a team that works and plays hard. NU will give it their all, MU will too. As you said give it time. That is the hardest thing, but I think showing the patience now with BP will pay off down the road.
  17. You bring up an interesting point. I have seen a change in the attitudes of MU fans since they have started winning. You can sense the venom against other teams in their message boards. While I think the users on this site do the same to a certain extent, I think it is being taken farther by MU fans. If Pinkel can't recreate this success in the Post-Daniels era, I don't know how patient they will be again. Certainly if the guy who writes in Husker H8ter blog is any indication, I don't think he would last 2 "mediocre" 7-8 win seasons. if you told me the bad seasons would be 7-8 wins i would buy right now. Most Mu fans know it isnt going to last forever. I for one feel the next 2 years are the most important. If MU doesnt fall of the face of the earth then i think they are here to stay. That doesnt mean top 5 every year. but in and around the top 25 with atleast 7 wins consistantly is a good team. If you throw in some runs of 9-10 wins or more and some top 10 apperiance, i think you would be hard pressed to find a tiger fan not willing to take that deal
  18. I would think that NU should prepare for VT this week. Mu on the other hand is off next week and will have 2 weeks to get ready. Plus lets look at this with clear colored glasses. If NU was #5 in the country and MU was ranked in the 30's, had yet to play a team in the top #80 in the country and had struggled at times against those teams, was coming off a 5-7 season and had a new coach with no previous head coaching experiance. What chances would you give the Tigers of pulling off the upset at home? You all would be rollin on the floor laughing at me if i made claims of victory or saying things like some of you say. I am not saying NU has no chance, but seriously people, just look at it.
  19. all was well until 2004. Trying to make Smith a pocket passer was pretty dumb. Then thank god for 2005 and the spread. Most of the heat came after 2004. A strong finish in 05, including a come from behind on the "ol' ball coach's" team really put him back on the good side. The fans that were calling for his head were very few. they were pretty vocal, but still a small percentage. They want to win at MU. THey have blown through some coaches over the years. The main difference is where the programs were. Pinkel took over a team that had won 7 games combined the previous two seasons. (when your team had been to one bowl in like 20 years and hasnt been winning more than 5-6 games, its pretty dumb to think about firing a 9-10 win coach) There was improvement before 2004. MU follows the same patern on most of their FB coaches. IF things go bad, you get a chance to fix it. If you cant fix it you are done. IF MU had laid an egg in 2005, I would bet the house that MU would have fired Pinkel Just because there had not been success doesn't mean fans/media/schools dont desire and demand it. You just have to look at it in the right light. MU basketball has fired coaches and been ticked about performances of teams the NU basketball coaches would have gotten raises for. It doesnt mean NU basketball wants to win any less. It just means there hasnt been a real high track record set.
  20. VT is not that great of a team. They are a lot better than the teams NU has beaten so far, but they are not even top 25. They looked pretty mediocre against GT. I think they lose to North Carolina on Saturday and come to lincoln 2-2, and leave 2-3. I do agree that what i think is a victory over VT will pump up NU. But VT and MU are not that close talent wise right now. (If you take MU out of the sentence and place another top 5 or 6 team in it may be easier for some husker fans to say. ) But VT and Florida are not that close talent wise right now But VT and USC are not that close talent wise right now But VT and OU are not that close talent wise right now But VT and LSU are not that close talent wise right now p.s. I would be willing to take a friendly wager that says Chance McDanielson doesn't take a hit against Buffalo behind the line.
  21. 4-2. i think we grab one..... not necessarily VT either. i think everyone is selling them short on this board TT hasn't looked very good so maybe your talking about that one. NU is miles behind MU right now. A lot can happen and there is no guarantees in football, BUT as long as MU doesnt fall flat, Nu has very little chance of victory. If MU plays well, IMHO, NU has no chance. I love this... I simply suggest we might possible beat one of the 3 and get this. you dont know if you guys will play well or if you will be healthy. All I was saying is I think we catch one of the 3 on an off game and we play well. IMO if all three play to their potential we go 0-3. but very very few team play to their potential on the road.....esp in lincoln. Mel, dont jump the gun buddy. If you look at what i said that is stated pretty clearly. "A lot can happen and there is no guarantees in football, BUT..." I even put but in capital letters. As in, as long as MU doesnt fall flat (bad play, injury, world upside down). If MU plays bad, and NU is on their game coventional thinking goes out the window.

  23. http://bullyforoldmizzou.blogspot.com/2008...-wrestlers.html I thought this was pretty funny. Be warned it has a MU lean, but none the less its pretty cleaver.
  24. 4-2 I think you beat VT. They don't impress me at all. I think they lose to NC this weekend. But the two after that could get ugly.
