Personally I would laugh at this, only for the fact that they just paid $75 million to buy out a coach, then they go looking for the guy with probably the highest buyout possible they would have to pay to hire.  One coaching change and some $150 million paid to do it would be hilarious.  We would have to start over again, but would have a lot of coin available to go do it I suppose.

This is the answer. Buyouts work both ways. Huskers would require Rhule’s contract to be bought out by aTm not sure what that amount is, but it’s enough to keep teams away. No way they drop that kind of cash.

  2. Recruiting starts are based upon potential.  There is a heck of a lot of difference between high school football in Lincoln versus the Big Ten.

You don’t just throw a guy in because a bunch of other schools wanted him for his potential. He has to beat out other guys who weren’t playing against high school kids in Lincoln last year.

If you didn’t know MC was raw coming in and expected a polished product ready to play right away, you weren’t paying attention. You sound like MC’s dad calling the AD complaining about playing time when you have no idea what goes on in practice every day.

Also, if you throw a guy to the wolves before he is ready, it can be VERY detrimental to their development. Sometimes they never recover.

This isn’t a video game where you can just play whoever you want, every situation is different and works itself out in practice. You know who is in practice every day to see this unfold…Matt Rhule and the coaches.

I couldn’t bet Michigan in Lincoln… or I would have. I’m tired of people saying we shouldn’t even show any resemblance of competing with teams. You are part of the problem.

Lol. I’m part of the problem?  We are without are top 2 RBs. Our All-Conference LB is out. Our best pass rusher is out. On the second play of the game we lost are best safety. We have the two worst tackles in possibly the history of CFB.

Sellout streak? Every kick/punt shows the top level of the stadium half full at best. Yea, technically the tickets were probably sold to some rich alumni, but when will the sellout farce stop?

My goodness, @Mavric how long is this trolling going to be tolerated?

Go to an Iowa board and spew this crap.

I mean, FOR YEARS, coaches that were playing each other that week would drive out and literally exchange game tape (usually 3 games) with the coach of the team they were playing that Friday.  It was just kind of expected.  In fact it was looked down on if you didn't give game film to your next opponent.

Lol!!!  Bro, the amount of times I was sitting in a Walgreens parking lot to exchange DVDs I can’t even count. Always thought people believed we were doing a drug deal.

Coaches do this all the time.  At least at the HS level. Coaches always call/text/email and ask other coaches about what did and didn't work.

Was just going to post this. You reach out to guys you know on other staffs every week. Any advantage you can get, you take. No matter the opponent.

All this proved was Keyshawn (and the rest of them) know nothing about how coaches operate.

I was curious about that as well.  And I really don't have any idea.

If I had to guess, as it's allowed here and allowed there, I would think so.  There would have to be some sort of prohibition about it going across state lines but I've never seen that.  Of course, I wasn't really aware of it at all until the past couple of days.

They could. I’m a high school AD. NIL is legal in Nebraska. I know of a baseball player from Nebraska that had national NIL deals who is committed to an SEC baseball school. Our kids here don’t even have to agree on a scholarship.

If you are interested you can read the rules set by the NSAA if you Google it.

A couple of familiar names on Feldman's Freaks List ($). I will say the quality of this annual article has dropped significantly in my opinion. It used to be just a few legitimate freak athletes, and the numbers were mind boggling. Now he just asks every school to send him a name and some numbers, and I could just look up school records if I wanted random guys who can bench and squat a ton while running faster than average. Still some cool stuff, but buried in a bunch of 'meh.'
