  1. O, O, O "You know what I'm talking about...." This was a little insight to where my mind goes for several days after seeing Office Space for the 151st time. EVERYthing becomes an instant cross reference to the movie. Plus, I think this guy would cause many star gazers to make that face.
  2. Thanks, Bass. I can't begin to imagine the decisions he has coursing through his mind. Like another poster said, we really do hope he ends up some where he feels comfortable. We'd definitely prefer if he chose our beloved Huskers, but he has to do what's right for him. PS. I think a game day visit will blow him away. I might be a touch biased, though.
  3. In fact, all preseason rankings are pretty pointless, even the top 10. Just something to yap or clap about, depending on where your favorite team sits. And, something to let you know the season is so close and yet still so far away!
  4. Yeah, here's what I hate about anything involving LP (I mean, besides the news itself, which is never good). They always HAVE to equate him with NU. I don't see anything mentioned about VT when seeing things about Vick, and I rarely see anything about USC when OJ is brought up. Good grief. He isn't a part of Nebraska anymore, and he's pissed away multiple chances by everyone who's given him one, not just NU. Like someone else said, I stopped caring anything about him a long time ago.
  5. No kidding! I put the picture up because I found it funny. But also found it a little painful considering that we haven't even sniffed a BCS for awhile, plus had visions of that long stretch of losing bowl games TO had before he put together one hell of a string of wins.
  6. Oh, and I add: I care also because how likely are any of these games to be televised? I see 4 PPV games to start the season.
  7. I care, obviously. It makes it very difficult for me to secretly look down my nose at those OTHER teams that beat their chests over their season records that include wins over teams like Sam Houston State, SE Missouri State, Furman, and the like.
  8. I've been moaning about the non-conference schedule for next year even though there's not a thing that I can do about it. But what I saw today just really put it in even worse perspective. Yes, I realize it's an entire year away, and many things change, but the current ESPN Bottom 10 has all 3 of our 2010 Div1A non-conference opponents (and sorry, Cy, you're on it, too). I pray Washington can make a respectable turnaround this year to make it a little easier to take.
  9. I'd post it in here, but the formatting is fugly when I try. Both Mark Schlabach and Bruce Feldman are predicting the Holiday Bowl. Already?
  10. Didn't Harrison Beck get the same award? Maybe his momma demanded that he get it?
  11. My only addition on Kellogg, Jr is that he was MVP at the 2008 QB camp, also attended by Cody Green (still hampered at the time by his ankle injury). QB Camp MVP = same honors as our current QB verbal, Gabbert. Here's an old article: http://www.journalstar.com/sports/football...19595d3f66.html
  12. Dang it, the kid can't catch a break here! I take back my "snoopy dance" from when it was reported he was back and 100%.
  13. I was thinking more along the lines of the last Zac (Zac I) in my predictions. However, Taylor had very little time in the system before being thrown into the fire. So, maybe I should up my ante a bit considering Zac II has been around, albeit in limited duties, for 2 years. I would definitely hope that bumps up his abilities for game 1, compared to Zac I's game 1.
  14. Awe, Hokieluv - I thought you only had eyes for us. What's with the wandering to OTHER message boards? You only need one, and that's here. But, seriously, hearing other teams fans getting all giddy over a season ending injury is a little sickening to hear. The injured is someone's son, brother, uncle, etc, and above all he's a human being.
  15. I'd like to think near 40, too, but first time starter at QB makes me leery of predicting too much for the offense for the first game. It will improve, but I also predict people will be getting edgy when a lower-than-predicted score happens; Further predicting: other teams' fans will be proclaiming that the Huskers "can't even dominate cream puffs and the will struggle the whole year because they're not that good". But, we'll all know they'll be wrong.
  16. I'd like to think that Green gets a redshirt if at all possible; and just basing this on interviews I've seen/heard, Green does not strike me as a kid who'll go all prima donna on us by giving transfer ultimatums. He's very mature and team oriented. Not to say it couldn't happen, I just don't see it happening.
  17. Yeah, not too MU-homerish to leave out both KU and NU, is it?
  18. Since others are predicting some scores, I think I'll put one out there, too. Since it's the first game and perhaps a bit sloppy (as someone else mentioned), I am going to pull the score out of my rear and predict 28 - 16. (Not covering the 20 points thing). Nebraska will miss some scoring opportunities; give up an early touch down in the first Q, and hold FAU to 3 field goals, one each remaining Q. There you go, I just saved you 29.99 on PPV!
  19. Don't kid yourself, VT has a great QB and a stable of running backs that will shoulder this loss. This is the kind of program that can absorb a tough loss like this. Last year VT's offense was pretty young and inexperienced and still managed to take care of business in Lincoln, even after losing Ore. I doubt they'll even be impacted this year either. They just get it done. But, it's still a shame for this kid and I hope he heals well and comes back stronger for next year.
  20. His nickname will be O-face. Or, maybe OO-face?
  21. Will Compton is "that good" too, and he rode the pine all season long, because we didn't have a terrible need at the position. With three QBs, two of whom are supposed to be pretty darned good, there's no way we put 2014 ahead of 2009. They almost pulled Compton's redshirt off at least once during a tense game, then cooler heads prevailed.
  22. I've had high hopes for him since I first saw him run over someone, but then he went all fumble-itis on me. Time to break that nasty habit, and mow some guys down again. Truck Sticks!
  23. Dang, now I'm jealous. Most of my Gameplan games were crappy quality (at least it was on Comcast cable) no matter how they were originally presented, and definitely nothing in HD. I was hoping to see if there was a difference between Gameplan on Dish versus cable, even minus HD, but now that I'll be getting espn360, I'm not even bothering spending the cash on it this year. Maybe next year I'll go back to it on the big screen again, and hopefully the HD broadcasts will have finally hit Gameplan on Dish.
