Depends on job stress levels too. Automotive is high pace, high stress and a lot of people chew or smoke.

Ah. I do see smokers around, but I also think it's way lower than in a lot of other countries. I know a HANDFUL of people who don't drink (even then, it's usually with exceptions). That's more than the number of people I know who smoke or chew tobacco. I know more weed users than tobacco users. Perhaps it's a cultural thing and I just happen to not be around any groups where cigs are still common.

But yeah, mainly I feel like we've done a phenomenal job of getting smoking down in the U.S. It's a point of pride for us here in the States, I think! And generally one of the things that visitors from elsewhere will always comment to me about.
