  1. Since y'all were kind enough to ask.... Clemson 30 Nebraska 27 Passing yards 212 Rushing 86 Best of luck!
  2. Essentially, the Clemson-Carolina feelings boil down to this: Carolina is the drunk relative you try to avoid at family reunions because you KNOW he's going to try to bum money off you, then make an ill-advised remark about your daughter, forgetting in his drunken stupor that you're even related. Then after the reunion, you go home, click on the TV to try to relax, only to discover he's got a starring role on "True Stories of the Highway Patrol." Try dealing with this level of rival all your born days. It'll wear you down.
  3. Well, it wasn't SUPPPOSED to be that way this year. Clemson was to be the Tweedledum among the Tweedldees of the conference. Alas, someone forgot to remind the pundits that 1. A team without a solid O Line isn't going anywhere and 2. A team without an O Line with an OC who insists on throwing screen passes that require a good OLine is doomed. When it was all said and done, the ACC wasn't a bad conference, just sort of the Lake Woebegone of football. Everyone was above average (I think the lowest RPI was about 55) but no one stood out. And you're right about the Gator...it really is a fun game to be in. Hope to see y'all there.
  4. Greetings from Tigertown! We're not gonna score 40-plus on y'all...and you dang sure ain't doing it to us! I think what has some of our folks a bit optimistic (besides making the supposed stout Chicken defense look silly last week) is that VTech put so many point on you. Folks who follow the game know Nebraska's run defense is solid, and we're going to have a challenge establishing any sort of ground offense. Alabama showed what happens to us if we can't run, and while I don't think y'all are as tough as the Tide along the D line, it's going to be a challenge. Count on Clemson to counter with motion, screens and quick passes to the backs. Also, while y'all know Spiller and Davis, you'll want to check out Jacoby Ford. He's a little fellow with a maddening ability to get loose and gone. But I imagine we'll attack your secondary, which has been mroe suspect this year. Aaron Kelly, a rangy 6-5 senior who holds the all-time ACC recpetion record and Tyler Grisham, another senior with a knack for getting open, will be the main targets, but Spiller, Ford, Xavier Dye and tight end Michael Palmer are all suitable targets. On defense, our opponents have generally done what y'all say is your bread and butter: try to control the clock on long, established drives to keep our offense off the field. It worked well for Bama and FSU. Our other losses generally came because of offensive miscues that left the D out too long, or with too short a field to defend. We have a solid defense, but I'll give you four guys to watch: 1. Michael Hamlin, a senior in the secondary with 6 INTs and a mean streak. 2. DeAndre McDaniel a redshirt freshman lineback who really ought to be a safety and delivers viscious hits. 3. Rashaad Jackson is a senior on the D Line who missed the first half of the year, but has become a major problem for opponents. and 4. Man-child DaQuan Bowers. A true freshman, he still has a lot to learn, but from the defensive end position, the guy's a beast. Despite what folks are saying, I see this as a defensive battle. First team to 20 wins. Hope to see y'all down there. I'll buy the first beer!
