  1. With so many so-called "favorites" missing medal stand, can you label the Olympics so far as a "choke job", or is it just too competitive in these events to be labeled. A few nice surprises, but more disappointments by far at this point.

      We've also had some historic medals and shots at getting medals. Things like short track speed skating are notoriously unpredictable (if you've ever watch, you'll instantly see why). White was contending, along with everyone else, with bad halfpipe conditions during the final and just didn't get it done. Miller has always been hit and miss with his runs because he pushes so hard - high risk, high reward.

      But we had a first ever medal attempt in women's cross country sprint, the bronze in women's single luge, etc. Bronze in the team figure skating, golds in both slopestyles (without White even), etc. I think there have been plenty of huge positives so far. It's just the nature of some of these sports.

      I'm with Ebyl here. I don't think you can classify not making the podium in downhill, short Track SS, half pipe, etc. as choke jobs. These types of events take a fair amount of luck and event conditions to end up top 3 in the world on any given day.
