  1. To me, this makes sense. Green's physical size would lend well at FS. Depth is a concern right now, but if recruiting pans out, maybe a move to FS would be the thing to do.... I would like to think that maybe L. Jackson could possibly play CB next season.
  2. Just give these guys Time !!!! NExt year will tell a lot !!!, if no progress is seen next year, I will help lead the charge to get rid of BC and Pud...(Pud could go now, though). Many that are not calling for BC, are still calling for some changes to be made.. some of the rumors include Norvell and Cosgrove... Why would you replace coordinators when you are trying to learn a system.. It make NO SENSE to me why anyone would want to see Cosgrove leave at teh end of the year... Holy sh#t, why not have 5-6 D-Cord. in 5-6 years..... How can these guys get comfortable ??? If someone has to be the "fall-guy", it should probably be a lesser know postion coach... but please not Gilmore !!!! Word on the street is that he is a stud....
  3. I know what the caller was referring to, but i wouldn't say they dominated the D line. They held their poise and had some good pass blocking, but they are still in the developmental stage at this point. They still have some mechanics to work out and those guys were not blitzed during those plays. So the callers info is semi right but it wasn't the whole picture Thanks for the insight, I appreciate it. I hope that the young guys can really develop into a rebirth of the "pipeline". I know that we will never, ever be quite as dominant, especially since that line "run-blocked" 90% of the time, but it will be nice to see us start dominating people up front.
  4. I was listening to sports talk radio yesterday and a caller made the following statement: (Paraphrase): The listener had heard from a "very reliable" source that the "reserve or young offensive linemen have dominated our starting defensive line during practice sessions". This caller had heard that young members of our scout team are very, very impressive. This question may be directed to "Nameless" or anyone else who may have "inside " insight of the situation . Thanks for the imput
  5. The team that I coach struggled this year.... Kind of like NU, a once proud program, fighting their way through a 3 game losing streak...... In the middle of our 3 game skid, I pulled out an anthem before our next game... during the pre-game locker room period, they put this song on repeat... "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. We beat one of our rivals 34-12 !!!! Then we went on the lose the final three games
  6. I don't claim to know very much, but from what I've heard from many ksu fans is that turnovers seem to haunt ksu...... what concerns me, is that you can "fix" turnovers, but in NU case, we just plain are not very good !!!! If ksu does not turn the ball over, NU will lose and it will get even uglier around here. If ksu continues to hand the ball to the other team, then NU will probably find a way to win !!!! * It's almost a feeling that NU doesn't even control it's own destiny within the actual game..... I know that this is a dumbass statement that doesn't make sense, but that is how I feel...... We have to be hopeful that ksu drops the ball or Everidge makes bad decisions...
  7. I was wondering the same thing. Do Lucky, Glenn, and Jackson begin to question their commitment to NU after we run for like a total of 55 yards in 3 games? None of the three redshirted, so all of them would have the same amount of years at another school as they do here. Does a QB recruit who's watched Taylor get the ever living sh#t beat out of him this year mark NU off their list? I don't know what goes through an 18 year olds mind other than potential $$$ after college ball. Does having a bad record in college damage your worthiness as an NFL draft pick? I really think Ross's stock has dropped. I don't think it was extremely high due to his size, but I don't even know if he has a shot now. These are all questions that I don't know. I'm sure we will see come signing day if the last two seasons has affected recruits. I do know that Dillard and a few others have whispered some things about not getting the pt. they were promised. IDK. I agree..... it wouldn't surprise me if Jackson, Dillard, Lucky, Glenn, Brooks think about the possibility of leaving..... the other schools whom they considered are almost all going to a "Bowl" and are having good seasons. If players "jump-ship" again this off-season, like last winter, then I probably change my mind and say that BC has to go.... We'll have to wait and see....but this sucks I am so unhappy that even the "Daily Skin" doesn't do it for me
  8. After the game, ESPN mentioned that the "seat is getting a little toasty in Lincoln". This staff has shown the ability to recruit.... If a recruit hears that BC is on the "hotseat", and that Husker Nation is calling for BC's head ( no reference to the throat slash) ...... does that recruit possibly drop NU down on their list or even out of consideration ? This is just another reason I believe Husker Nation must come together in support of BC (at least until after Feb.6)
  9. I just wish all of you guys would just keep your negative opinions to yourself Because the more I hear...... I am almost changing my mind and jumping on the fire BC bandwagon I must stay strong though...... As much as it sucks, give him one more year..... Then you can justify the firing, and maybe a good coach will look at the job
  10. I can't believe that I am actually saying give him one more year, but I just think that firing him would be the worst of thte 2 evils.
  11. This could possibly be the lowest point of NU football ever...... To slip from 10-3 to 5-6 last season, and on the verge of 5-6 again !! I can't explain it or can't even remotely try to figure out how to change it, but it pains me to say that firing BC is NOT the answer... if we make a major change now, it would send us into a non-stop tail-spin for MANY years. In fact, a coaching change may be a death sentence for a once proud university. Like I have said on other threads, no coach worth a crap will even look at this job, if BC is shown the door after 2 years... I am just a pissed as the rest of you guys, maybe more so, but as much as I dislike BC right now, it hurts to say.... we can't fire him YET !
  12. Are you kidding me !!!! This offense is absolutely horrible !! No excuse for it this late in the season !!! You can't move the ball 1 yd on 2 tries !!!
  13. I will never give up, but this sh#t is getting old We may be in trouble on the road today!!!! Plain and simple, this is not a good football team right now
  14. This sh#t is looking way to familar !!! Holy sh#t.....How about Lucky !!!1
  15. Sh@t Once agian, we start deep in our own territory Come on offense !!!!! Until our offensive line improves, it wil be like this every game !!!! Come on "big play"
  16. Now the D has to get the field position for NU It is obvious that our O isn't going to get much going early
  17. I hate "losing" the field postion game..... It could be huge today !!!
  18. Defense will have to turn up the heat.... maybe we wil score on special teams Have them pinned deep !!! This possession will be huge
  19. Awesome post..... this board needed a slap of reality !!!! Obviously, all of us bleed Big Red (yes, even former) we can be unhappy, but we need to stick together to make this university what it has been and what it will continue to be........#1 in class and tradition
  20. First of all, if you are going to compare every coach we have to TO, then absolutely no one will ever match up to your satisfaction !!!!! TO is my hero, idol, role model, hell, I even invited him to my wedding..... but to try to compare BC to TO after 2 years is insane !!!!! I have stated many times on this board, that I am not a big BC supporter, yet, but anyone who is calling for acoaching change before you give him 4 years, does not have a clue about what kind of damage a change would do to this university Let's just compare everyone to TO, and only give them 2 years to be successfulm with players whom do not match their system.... Man, you will get a lot of great young coaching prospects applying for that kind of situation The people saying that BC will never win a NC are probably right... As soon as he records 9 wins and the North title, he will get a chance to bolt for the NFL, and I would assume that he will jump at the chance..... Who could blame him, life in the NFL has to be easier than in Lincoln... Some people have not and will not give him a chance to succeed... At least in the NFL, he can get a little excited on the sideline, without being drug through the mud.....Hell, I am Steeler fan, and Cowher has chased officials to mid-field and shoved paper into their pocket...... a geture is child's play.....
