  1. I may be in the minority here, but my gut feels like tonight feels like a must win game. We don’t want to head into a weekend series vs Maryland losing 4 of last 5, including the second time to Creighton.
  2. Have a day MM! Just watch the doctor order. An absolute gem against the best offensive team in the conference, whom we could not seem to get out yesterday. Career high and strikeouts, and they shut out after seven.
  3. Thank you for the updates, unable to watch game today
  4. I felt the ump squeezed us a bit. I watch Big 10+, but listen to Husker radio for call. Sears should have had a k and next pitch was weak single ( not sure if it was inning when they scored), I thought Borist got rough calls also. Again, no excuses, just observing. We have benefited from squeezing the other way throughout the year. A little surprised that he didn’t stick with Sears at least through 7. Yes, he gave up 2 runs on two solid hits, but hit that proceed rbi was a weak, jam shot that bled into left field. Sears has shown that he doesn’t get extremely rattled a pitch count was non issue. Then Worthley and Borist could have had 8-9. Easy to second guess. All looked good and right moves when it was 6-2
  5. Yuck! Can’t blow a 6-2 lead and 6-3 in 9th. This one really hurts as this Rutgers team swings it very well. We will see if we can respond
  6. Sanders onto face heart of Rutgers line up
  7. Lead off double for Carey in 11th, but failed sac bunt, infield pop up, and k strand him. Ughhhh
  8. Fantastic play by Stoaks saves game for now. Can’t lose this one. Rutgers leads league in batting average and they just battle. New game. Sears now gets no decision after Huskers blow 6-2 lead. Stoakes saves KP (maybe Dias’s) from loss. Lost track
  9. Rutgers won’t go away. 2 on, tying run at plate with 1 out
  10. Borist gets out of 8th. Lead 6-3 into 9
  11. Borist started hot, but loses command a bit. Gives up run and tying run at plate
  12. Huskers go to Borist as Worthley gives up lead off single
  13. Will Walsh smacks a 2 out, 3 run shot to give Huskers a 6-2 lead in top of 8
  14. Worthley comes on and allows lead off single, but works out of it with nasty off speed pitch on 3-2 count. Now let’s go offense!
  15. Sears’ night is done. Another “quality” by Sears, but looked human for first time this year and will not be happy, but is in line for win. Worthley into game
  16. Huskers get them at 2nd and 3rd in top of 7, but great play by Rutgers shortstop ends inning. 3-2 good guys into bottom of 7.
  17. Strike out, ground out gets Huskers out of the inning with 3-2 lead
  18. Jam shot single gives Rutgers 2 runs. First runs against Sears in 19.5 innings. Pouring rain. Runner at 1 with 1 out
  19. Rutgers putting bay on ball. Lead off out, but single, double have them at 2nd 3rd with 1out… mound visit
  20. Headed to bottom of six huskers lead 3–0
  21. Huskers hang 3 by good hitting by Josh Caron , Brumbaugh. Still battling
  22. Scoreless through 5. Sears squeezed a bit on what should have been strike 3… followed by single, but no damage
  23. We get a runner on, but double play ends inning. 0-0 going to bottom of 5
  24. 1-2-3 for the Husker defense. Sears ends it with his second k.
