you know, i have been thinking more about the play calling at the goal line....true the guys up front had not blocked well for the running game, BUT imagine the message Cally sent to the O line when he refused to let a back try to run it in so close to the goal line.....that decision would send a clear message to me if i was on the O-line......."i have no confidence that we can even make a yard on a dive play, or even call a QB bootleg"......not very inspiring for anyone on the offense, whether on the line or in the backfield.......i hope we don't see this again, even with a minute left, we could have taken one shot at punching it across....... hunter

but steve, i think the point here is, you leave Taylor in and let him "work thru it"..he is going to have ups and downs in games that he will need to play the whole game, it is part of the learning process and developing mental toughness...... hunter

i agree with some of what you said, but i can sure remember when Oz was coach, the half time adjustments were often HUGE and the play was almost always better(when it had to be) in the 2nd half.....that is coaching, changing the approach and making the proper adjustments....i don't think we saw that in the Maine game and as many have said.....i wonder if Cally is bound to coach his way, even when it doesn't work.......not just Cally, but the O line coaches as well, we will continue to monitor this thru the season and i hope i am wrong, but the art of making adjustments during the game and at half-time is the art of a well developed staff and that of a winning program......let's just wait and see...... hunter

agree, i think it is obvious Zac needs to keep playing and get a series og full games under his belt......i do not see Beck or Ganz coming into playunless Taylor gets hurt.....remember, Taylor has still to play a full game against D1A competition, so he has ALOT to learn........ hunter

ok coach Dave, you must be right but the fact is adjustments are made on the sideline during the game and at half-time, right?? so fess up then, according to your statement the O line has inferior atheletes compared to Maine's D line? ok, I will buy that.......and the fact that they will stuggle for the rest of the year......but wait.......the fact that they could pass block pretty well, and not run block or get a push worth a damn has nothing to do with coaching, right? ....yep, your comments make sense to me hunter
