  1. of Future Passed. The Moody Blues The Day Begins (Redwave, Knight, Edge) 'Cold hearted orb that rules the night, Removes the colours from our sight. Red is grey and yellow white, But we decide which is right. And which is an illusion? Pinprick holes in a colourless sky, Let inspired figures of light pass by, The mighty light of ten thousand suns, Challenges infinity and is soon gone. Night time, to some a brief interlude, To others the fear of solitude. Brave Helios wake up your steeds, Bring the warmth the countryside needs.
  2. Nice double entendre! I likey.
  3. Some of our best guys came to mind first—Amukamura, Crick, Henery, Paul. But I think we could get by with the guys behind them. Our offensive line on the other hand just seems more susceptible to problems. I pick Keith Williams.
  4. Klachko is a GREAT get for us. Welcome aboard Ryan!
  5. Wow. I seem to be in the minority here. Okay, think about it this way. Say you are a soldier stationed in Iraq for two years. You come home and find out that your wife is in deep yogurt. Really serious trouble. Which of these two alternatives would upset you more: 1) She ran a dog fighting club and was responsible for a dozen pit bulls getting killed; or 2) Your wife had multiple affairs, screwing a dozen different guys over the past couple of years. Without condoms. Some of the guys were male prostitutes. And stories about it appeared in every newspaper in your town and every website you read. I would be more angry with #2.
  6. I couldn't agree more. I completely disagree with what Tiger did. Every fiber of my being tells me that what he did is wrong. But, Michael Vick was responsible for death and torture. Well, I guess Michael Vick is responsible inasmuch as his name was on the title of the house. He didn’t live there or personally care for the dogs. Sure, Tiger didn’t kill any dogs. But he did screw a few dogs.
  7. The nuances are extremely important. You know they read Huskerboard and that was a subtle shout-out to you. Ha! Yeah, any use of “nuance” must involve me! I picked the screen name “NUance” from a Pelini quote when he first came back to Lincoln. He said something about the nuances of defense, a topic Pelini knows about. I thought NUance was a cool word. With NU in it. I may have sent the wrong message if I chose NUde instead. Ha!
  8. Gameday at Camp Randall is great....Madison is an awesome time anytime of the year. Their student section is great as well...this is probably one of the only places that compares to gameday in Lincoln. You bet. Madison is a GREAT college town! I love their liberal thinking … concening beer drinking.  Never been to UW Madison on gameday but I’ll bet it’s a blast.
  9. Well, I don’t know about the corporate farming either. But I do agree with MIKE in that Tiger hurt people (his family) while Vick only hurt dogs. Or at least Vick bankrolled the people who hurt (killed) the dogs. The way I see it, people > dogs tiger worse than vick /jmho
  10. Daniel Davie. That would be my WAG for our next commit. But who knows?
  11. The thing is, Tiger didn’t have just one transgression. He had a dozen girlfriends. A dozen that we know of anyway—-there may have been more. And he was boning these bimbos sans latex. Just asking for a STD. You’d think of all people, a golfer would know to wear a glove. That, and Tiger’s family--Elin his wife, his mother, and kids--are going to have to live with this scandal for the rest of their lives. Everybody in the world knows Tiger and Elin’s dirt. What Michael Vick did was reprehensible. There’s no denying that. But I think Michale Vick was crucified by a DA was making a name for himself mostly because Vick was the only celebrity out of those involved. Vick wasn’t the one living there. His buddies did. Michael Vick didn’t feed or train the dogs, or clean the kennels. Vick was the financial backer. He owned the house and paid the bills. That, and he watched the dog fights.
  12. Yeah, the Peso might be here to stay. For a while. Look at our roster. We've got several safeties big enough to fit this role. Heck, some of our CBs could probably play the hybrid position. I'm sure Prince would do just fine in a pinch. As for Cooper, I think he'll be a natural in the Peso. Seems like it was made for him.
  13. Generally I like Duke. Even though the couple of Duke grads I know are kinda smarmy about it. But last night I was cheering for Butler. Rootin for the underdog.
  14. People used to look up to them. Until we found out they are slimeballs.
  15. Yep. Grape is gonna be a great one. Then again, McCoy was a great one. Except for his final Big 12 game where he looked more like a frisbee than a QB.
  16. Wow. I did not realize Moore dropped off so much last year. In his RS year he looked very promising. I hope Moore is healthy again. He’s gonna be good, that’s for sure. Might even turn out to be great. Like Neil Smith, another guy from the same HS as Moore in New Orleans.
  17. West and Thenarse, both former starters. Both might not see the field much this year. That says a lot about how much our DBs have improved in the last 2-3 years.
  18. I wonder if this is true? If so, quite impressive. Turner is fast. Got a good first step. And I thought Merredith had a build better for strength than quickness. Be interesting to see who has the better year, Merredith or Ankrah. Both could be stars for us at DE. edit: Oops, corrected typo. Meant say Meredith, not Barry, built for strength.
  19. I’d like to see Barney silence all the naysayers. To do that we need a lot better o-line play than last year. A LOT better.
  20. Who was lined up with the #1s on offensive line? Who first to rotate in/out? Great info, btw. Many thanks for posting.
  21. You could get her a Husker tee-shirt or hoodie for the game. A few years back I took several friends to a game. I bought each of them red a red Husker shirt and gave them out at the tailgate. I think they enjoyed the experience more—-you know, being part of the sea of red and all. That, and we drank a lot. Have fun!
