  1. lol, the truth hurts still 1 spot left, sign up quick. I'm in.
  2. I wish Evans hadn't gotten injured. I want to beat the best teams, with their best players. Hokieluv, good luck to your Hokies this season and looking forward to a great game.
  3. Wish I could make it to this game. I would love to see us stomp Mizzou on their home turf, as payback for last year.
  4. With the first game just 25 days away, I thought I would delve into some of the offensive concepts that I hear are being implemented. First things first. The players may be different, but the game is still the same. That being said, Ganz, Swift, and Peterson are gone, which leaves us more inclined to run the ball. But, the goal here is still to control the ball, and time of possession. We all saw what that could do for us against better teams (Texas Tech). -Good balance of shotgun and heavy formations. Ace formation is almost a perfect match for our personnel. With Holt and Paul at wide receiver, Dreu Young and Mike McNeill at tight end. A good pair of running backs in Helu and Castille, and Zac Lee at QB. Some of the plays that we should see more of this year -64-65 H Dive, is just your basic straight ahead HB running play with inside zone blocking principals. -98-99 Toss Sweep-same basic principals of the old USC student body sweep, but more utilizing of the WR's as crack back blockers, springing some big holes for HB. -36-37 Read-Zone Read, hopefully we will be seeing a pitch back in this look in the fall. The defense can just play the odds on the zone read, when it's ran with the dive and the keep. A pitch back would give it a triple option look and be very much harder to defend. -90-91 Inside Iso-follow the fullback, need I say more? Some teams run this with inside zone blocking schemes, but that defeats the purpose of the iso play. The iso, is meant to get the fullback one on one with the middle linebacker, rather than sweep everyone to the direction of the play. I'll have more up later, but I've got to get back to work.
  5. I wish it would be more of a power running game. In reality, I like whatever offense helps us win games.
  6. I didn't think she was a lawn mower when I went home with last night.

  8. Since it's the middle of july and we all have nothing better to do. What's the worst playcall you've ever seen? -Dailey running out of bounds on fourth and goal against Southern Miss told me it would be a long season. -Callahan's gtfo of town without being embarrassed gameplan against USC in 2006. -The fake field goal against CU. -Everytime Bobby Newcombe was on the field and Solich did nothing to utilize his talent.
  9. The call was right to go for two...but we should have at least ran a different play. Maybe an option, or a fullback trap with Mark Scheleen.
  10. Ball State. Didn't lose, but that sure as hell was a scary game.
  11. Ask anyone from Alabama and Georgia, and they will tell you that Texas is not the south.
  12. Someone should post a long reply, a filibuster of sorts. Sadly I'm listening to Blue October, because The Band just got done playing on my itunes. Anyone seen the Last Waltz?
  13. Three key factors to getting out of Blacksburg with a victory: consistent running game, defense, kicking game, and discipline. Let's not get fancy offensively quite yet on the road with a new QB.
  14. I'm personally not a big fan of them, but upon seeing them, they will probably grow on me.
  15. I for sure am going to miss Ganz. Best of luck to him if he becomes a coach.
