  1. I think Mizzou needs a metaphoric Kellen Huston on the football field this year. I'm not saying it was right or a good example of Nebraska sportsmanship. (In fact it was a rare example of Nebraska showing poor sportsmanship.) but watching that video always makes me laugh.. You know what really gets me about Missouri and Mizzou fans running their mouths. It's the fact that they win these games and get all this hype and almost become respectable and then CHOKE. Can't finish the job. MIZZOU, if the stars align in your favor and the heavens smile upon you and a few times you actually beat Nebraska when we're down at least have the courtesy to stop running your yaps and beat fricken Oklahoma and Texas.. . embarassing the Big XII North.. Thanks for nothing. Guess it's time we take the top back and show you how it's done.
  2. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? I've been a Nebraska fan since 8th grade. So about 15 years. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? My 8th grade gym teacher, (Who was a Michigan fan) challenged me to watch a Nebraska game because he noted that I was one of the few Nebraska kids he had ever seen who didn't know a thing about football. 3) Where are you from originally? Millard, Nebraska, (Suburban Omaha) Might have heard of a certain Heisman winner from the same town. I watched him play several times while attending Millard South, Millard Norths rival.. Saw some great football. 4) Where do you live now? Millard Nebraska.. Why leave? 5) Favorite Husker memory? Being in attendance Nov. 8 1997. Columbia, MO. Was in the oppostie endzone of "the Kick" and thought it was incomplete. That was the most dramatic ten second emotional shift I have ever experienced. I remember losing my voice. 6) Worst Husker memory? 2004. Texas Tech, Bill Callahan, and Steve Pedersen are a tie. 7) Number of home games attended? Not sure. Probably around 20. BLUE HAIRS! SURRENDER YOUR TICKETS. (It sure would be nice to see memorial stadium at it's intimidation and volume potential someday...) 8) Number of away games attended? Thats easier.. 4 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Tom Osborne Signed napkin. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Probably at Home with friends. 11) Favorite all time player? Andy Means. He's the only one I ever really "knew." 12) WCO or Option? I like them both. How about a hybrid? West Coast Option?? 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? BILL BYRNE any day of the week. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie Husker. 15) Favorite Husker play? "THe Kick" 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Coke 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) Searching something else online.
  3. Sorry, Not aware of blackwater. Is that sailing term? I have an uncle named lorance, but I'm sure Nebraska isn't playing any games in his back yard. I do however think Nebraska has a fair chance of winning in BLACKSBURG and LAWRENCE. Virginia Tech is getting their fair share of hype this year, sure hope they can live up to it when they visit Bama. If they beat Bama I think Nebraska has an even better chance of knocking them off. Higher ranking = more motivation. As for Kansas, Reesing doesn't make a football team. That said, the game on the road will still be challenging. Nebraska newly improved defense should be up to task.
  4. So Castille is still off the team and the sun actually came up today. Amazing. It's shocking to me how so many people can get their panties in a bunch over one player. There are after all over a hundred players on this team. Castille was poised to have a great season, no doubt. We may never know. Unless re-instatement is possible, Christiansen got re-instated after something pretty major, hard to think Castille might not be able to work his butt off to mend this broken bridge. However, Bo did sound pretty final when he said. "I wish him the best." There are other talented running backs on this football team. Castille's absence can only motivate the competition further. IT's not time to write the season off or dwell on who we don't have. It's time to focus on who we DO have. I am confident that the team will do very well this year even with this major setback. Best of Luck to Roy Helu, Marcus Mendoza, Rex Burkhead, and others. Now lets take a moment to remember a few other key positions that make an offense work. QB,WR,TE,OT,OG,C,FB,.. Not to mention an entire defense foaming at the mouth to prove themselves as a true Pelini D! Overachievement is still what I expect. I believe thats what I'll see.
  5. Thank Goodness for Greg Sharpe, he is fantastic, I think Nebraska may have finally found a permanent voice. Yes, we had to suffer through Warren Swain and *gag* Jim Rose.. (Ole Grandma himself) and now finally, redemption!
