  1. Martinez' decisions f'ing SUCK. Watson had a month to plan this game and this is what we do on offense? Get him gone.
  2. I really don't think that recruits care what the division names are going to be. If they're willing to play for a team nicknamed the "Cornhuskers," then I'm guessing they'll be ok with playing in the Plains or Lakes division of the Big 10. Maybe, but you might be surprised. Most of the kids from the South don't want to leave the warm weather as it is, anything that brings up connotations of bad weather or boring scenery won't help.
  3. Using names like "Plains" or "Heartland" might have negative connotations with recruits. I say use Big 10 West and Big 10 East, who cares if they don't make complete sense. The West Division has the westernmost team and the East Division has the easternmost team.
  4. Wonder how he would have been treated if it was NU that scored 35 in the first quarter.
  5. And we all breathe a sigh of relief. I can't blame him for getting fed up with the media circus and the scrutiny, I'd hate it too. Hang in there Bo.
  6. That'd be great of Frost and Mangino were coming here and Watson was out. I like those rumors.
  7. Have to disagree. It's a free country and Bo is allowed to take any job he chooses to. If he honestly feel it is best for him and his family to be at Miami, god speed. People need to get over this insane devotion to coaches. Unless they are Nebraskan, alma mater, or born and raised, they feel about our program the way we feel about Michigan, Miami and all the others. They have no reason to be loyal to us. This is a business for them and we are his current employer. Nothing more. And don't for a second think it doesn't work both ways. Or have you forgot the Callahan getting shoved out the door by the fan base just a few years ago? Callahan didn't preach integrity or loyalty as far as I ever heard. He was all about winning and doing it the glitzy, glamorous way like they do in SoCal. Bo preaches loyalty, character, and devotion to his kids. He says he will do anything for them and he cited this numerous times during the reprimand for his actions at aTm. Therefore, I expect him to live up to what he says in that regard. I think you're reading too much into "coaches speak"... Unless you believe Pelini will never, ever leave Nebraska, it should be accepted that eventually he will recruit some kid while talking about loyalty and integrity and then leave that kid. Wether that is today or in 20 years. Anything less than a retirement, means he will leave some kids and the fans dissapointed and feeling betrayed. I agree mostly, but you have to admit there's a big difference between leaving after being here 10 years and being here 3, right before we transition into a new conference. You don't bail at a time like this.
  8. Again, I'm in the camp that says if Bo was going to Miami, or even talking to them, Tom Osborne, Bo's assistants (especially including Papuchis) and his players would have an inkling. All three have denied any such thing. And again, this entire rumor is dependent on one reporter's "unnamed sources." It looks like a duck. It walks like a duck. It acts like a duck. I'm pretty sure it's a duck. You could also interpret that quote to mean things are happening and no one has explained it to the team.

  10. Let's hope this isn't true.. that would be extremely low of him to abandon us now and go against pretty much everything he claims to stand for - loyalty, character, integrity, etc. Hard to imagine he'd do that when you think about it like that. I would feel very betrayed if he did... I think this man (minus his temper) represents what Nebraska football is all about.
  11. Signing day is months away. Miami will have signed a HC long before this situation affects our recruiting class. Regardless, if he has no interest in Miami he should say so. For a guy that claims to be so black and white he's being awfully grey.
  12. If Bo isn't talking to or considering Miami, why doesn't he come out and say loud and clear that he is without a doubt staying at Nebraska? These rumors could be put to bed very easily if he would make an announcement that leaves no doubt about his intentions. He has to know that this is going to f#*k up our recruiting class if the rumors persist. If he truly has no interest in the Miami job he would say so.

  14. via http://twitter.com/BIGJOEONTHEGO Who is this Joe Dubin guy??? never heard of him. A guy who covers Tennessee sports. Take it for what it's worth, but I like to believe it. Makes me sleep easier at night.
  15. Sweet... hopefully will make the Big 10 better and maybe we can snag an OU offensive player.
  16. Definitely no to Whipple. Just ask Miami fans, they HATE him Oh lol. I don't know much about him, but I thoughts since Shannon was fired and he likes the downhill run he might be an option. Harsin would be awesome but IF Watson leaves I think in all likelihood it'd be Beck.
  17. The Nevada OC and the Boise OC seem like good options to me. Mike Leach is probably unreasonable but is fun to think about. What about Mark Whipple from Miami? If I remember he liked the downhill run, and I think we'd all like that. Holgerson would be awesome but not going to happen.
  18. This is kind of a sh**ty situation. We have a lot of good players coming in and we might lose quite a few if Watson leaves. On the other hand, we might have the same old story next year if Watson stays.
  19. When you lead the nation in fumbles and haven't corrected it all year, that's due to coaching. Maybe it's Watson, maybe it's Beck, but someone is not teaching them proper technique.
  20. Are we going to hire from within? For the love of all that is good please don't make it Cotton or Gilmore. Because of our running back play, Beck seems like the best choice if we are going to hire from within.
  21. We were explosive on offense with a fully healthy QB against weaker defenses, something that wasn't true last year. That's about it. Unfortunately, we were predictable as hell otherwise and failed to score necessary points against better defenses. Oftentimes, as much as a touchdown would have won us or kept us in the games we lost.
  22. We lead the nation in fumbles. It was like 37 before the start of the game so what is it now, 41? That falls on the OC. Oh but nothing is Watson's fault is it?
