  1. you guys think huskers can beat Vtech? really, on the road in blackwater? will be an informative game but not the way you expect. not a basher but realistic, your very inexperienced offense will have trouble doing anything against a very tough d and their O with an inexperienced offense didn't have any difficulties scoring against you in lincoln, when you were much more experienced on both sides of the ball. everyone entitled to their opinion but you actually think you are going to go into columbia, lorance, waco and boulder and come out well? really. as for rooting against tigers, go ahead, i personally root for big 12 teams to do well as the head to head battles decide everything anyway, no such thing as "co-champions" when you play against each other, winner is who plays in championship game, period. good luck on the season, your team has more questions and less talent than tigers, personally I don;t get too wrapped around the axle about football, enjoy the competition. but again, blackwater? really? wow that is amazing, course you guys don't give TT their dues, mike leach reloads he won't miss a beat. 10-2? really? now that's funny stuff! if you win at vt or actually competitive, good for you.
  2. what does NU have that will attract bigtime recruits? same question dogs MU as well. MU and KU have facilities that now match or exceed NU and none can match OKstate, tboone pickens hs made sure of that. Tradition? to kids nowadays, means little and they don't remember what happened 4 yrs ago, let alone 20. Not flaming, just curious. Seems like NU, KU and MU have to best at getting the "best of the rest" in TX and doing the best job of coaching them up. None of these hd coaches are like a Ron Zook at IL, who is an incredible recruiter but on coaching, not so much. He has more 5 stars than all 3 combined. So what is the solution?
  3. couple of pts from someone with no dog in this fight. Reesing over Lee, not even worth discussing as TR has done it, very good college qb. comparison with ganz? ganz journeyman who did ok, Reesing 2nd best qb in north behind heisman candidate, has the numbers, very tough qb. As for your wr's last yr? wouldn't make the 2 deep for KU or MU last yr, this yr you got nothing, just a bunch of guys who have as little exp as he does, don't get too excited. Touting the TE? Huh? In spread o, just gets the scraps, it's all about the qb and wr's and KU has best in country by many accounts. MU has most potential at qb and wr's, right now, means little. Lee? ya'll don't have one clue, he completed ONE pass last yr and you try to compare him with Todd? Funny. Now the oline question is extremely relevant as I don't think beakers are returning one starter to same position, so with 3 freshmen, huge opportunity for nebraska. BTW didn't you lose two starters on Dline? Suh is best in division but still you arn't sure. KU lost all Lbers, yours wasn't very good last yr and are counting on rs's to upgrade huge question. secondary you have one very good player, rest are ? No one knows guys, camp starts today, you will know soon. Enjoy.
  4. am a tigers fan but anyone who doesn't pick KU is not paying attention. This a league about qb's and Reesing is just damn tough, is best in the north and no one is in second play and has what many experts say is THE best Wr corp in the country, plus a serviceable rb in sharp. NU? no proven playmakers at qb and almost no production at wr. what you have is two good not grt backs and a solid TE. Your Oline is ok nothing special and when teams shut down your running, which they will, Lee is a total unknown to make big plays as he had no PT last yr. could he be solid? sure but just as easily he could not be. You can say the same thing for MU which has without question the most talented qb in North but hasn't played for the last two years as he was hurt early in his sr hs yr. He is big, talented and with a cannon arm but hasn't done it yet. DW is best rb in north without question and backup is very good so it looks like they will run the ball more. Has most talented Oline and it is a spread team so easiest to replace on they fly, like TTech. Now the fun starts with matchups, with suhie and a solid Dline as NU's d strength they could really give KU problems as they have 3 rs freshmen Olinemen (including a RS freshmen TE who is being converted to LT and only weighed 260 in spring), so the only running KU will be doing will be Reesing, for his life! NU should be able to run the ball against KU, which takes pressure off Lee, game should be very interesting. Plus later in yr so Reesing could be beat up or gone by then. Very interesting. NU against MU in Columbia, after taking a beating at blackwater, sorry dudes it is going to happen Vtech is very tough this year, MU probably has lost at Illinois as they have a veteran O and stars in Juice and Benn who is a monster and d has new coordinator and lots of new players, tho they are very fast and athletic, have to say both teams have one loss. NU won't be successful running the ball and passing will be difficult. MU will be able to pass the ball effectively as lbers and secondary are inexperienced and tigers are talented and led by two outstanding seniors, Washington will do well running the ball. Have to give this one to Tigers. as for rest of schedule? who knows, MU loses at OKS and tx, beats baylor at home. MU wins rest of schedule easily, KU by then will have a very beat up Reesing and defense isn't much. NU still has to go to Baylor, trap game Griffin is very good, OU is a beatdown and tech is another very tough game, Leach always has the Offense ready to go, huskers still ahve to go to CU and Cu had you last yr when they were terrible. point is, no one can really predict this year, you are optimistic, beakers are as well and they have the most productive offense to justify their confidence, Tigers are young but more athletic and faster than ever. Who will win? Is why they play the games. Enjoy the season and don't take it to seriously, all teams are in flux and no one has a chance to beat the south team in championship game anyway, so what does it matter?
  5. offer was pulled because they have been recruiting kids that fit their system and are better players. gave the instate kid a chance but with program's success offensively and stacked with very good wr talent, it is no longer a good fit. his cousin went to AR most likely destination or a couple buds are going to MN. GP and staff are very good at evaluating talent and do well with kids who arn't highly rated but do well on the field. With top facilities and location in North plus a very successful run, don't have to wait around for kids anymore. if the instate kids come, grt if not others will. besides when you get past the 4 and 5 stars, it's a crap shoot anyway. Big 12 North schools arn't destination schools like big two in south, success will come with whoever evaluates talent the best and then coaches them up once they hit campus. GP has proven he can do it, the fat man is darn good as well, Hawkins and prince, not so much. jury is out on pellini, only time will tell as last yr it was all callahan's kids. I know we can get in a pissing match over who is better, yadda, yadda, blah, blah blah. but why? about to hit camp and we shall see soon enough. it will be entertaining and no one actual dies if team doesn't do well. so it will be fun.
  6. as jayhawk fan linked, it is worse than fans thought. he didn't go to mommy's U but just quit NU! makes one wonder if all the rumors of coaches indiffernce to continuing to court recruits, not returning calls and overal ineptitude in the process is troubling. these koolaid drinkers who claim it is not a problem are rationalizing nonperformance by this unproven coaching staff. KU and MU are getting it done with quality players and to those who feel NU is back baby? Have to wait to see what transpires this fall as have to go to Lawrence, Waco, columbia, blackwater and Boulder! Plus those who think T Tech is down havn't been paying attention to how Mike Leach reloads on the fly, inserting a new qb without missing a beat and their D was much improved last year. This is going to be a very tough year and those who are talking about playing for big 12 championship are very premature. By the time Nu plays MU on thursday on National TV, will have a much better idea of who huskers truly are. sorry to disagree but NU's D wasn't all that last year, only fattened up statwise against the weak opponents at end of year. against the hated Tigers when the games actually mattered they didn't even force one punt and didn't even slow up the Sooner offense. bo hasn't proven anything yet, with only two returning very good defenders and too many unknowns, all this optimism doesn;t seem warranted. What were the coaches thinking last year in not bringing in a ton of grt wide receivers? One juco retread in the class and a converted rb? the returning players are nothing to get excited about, so who is Lee supposed to throw to? And Pellini's shortsightedness about not giving his backups PT when Huskers were being blown out by MU and OU will come back to haunt Big Red, why didn't Lee get on the field? there were at least 6 games he could have gained exp at for this year, where huskers were getting beat up or were doing the beating. Plus all this bleating about all these RS's? If they were that good why wern't they playing instead of walkon's and backups? Now the D is too dependent on good athletes with zero experience.
