  1. Funny, I don't remember total yardage determining who wins and loses. I always thought it was total points in the game, but maybe I'm wrong. And maybe I'm crazy, but I could have sworn it was 27 to 24 midway through the fourth quarter. Hmmm, but the score doesn't matter...only total yardage. Nevermind. Except for when NU plays VT cause our stats didn't matter, us losing by one point is all that mattered. And I find it ironic that since this was brought up, there hasn't been a Missouri fan trying to disclaim this or otherwise. I don't get it. VT was dominated statistically and lost by double digits. But the stats supposedly don't matter. Nebraska was moderately better statistically and lost. And now the stats matter? What part of this is supposed to favor you? I havent heard anyone claim that stats matter in our game vs Virginia Tech, the only thing that matters is that we f&^%ing lost & regardless of what you & your brillance say, I wouldnt call losing a game that you were winning in the 4th quarter against a f^cking good football team getting "your ass kicked up and down the field like a JV squad". You wanna see getting your ass kicked up and down the field like a JV squad, turn on the Nebraska Missouri game. I highly doubt you guys score more than 7 on us
  2. What the hell??? This is supposed to be our #1 guy at OT & Texas A&M's coaches are recruiting him harder than our coaches? F$%^ing bullsh1t
  3. By the time Nebraska comes to town it's likely that Colorado will be so demoralized that they won't have the ability to gain over 200 yards by land, air, or sea. I'm sorry, but I've seen this kind of play before from a Nebraska team not so long ago. Even in the midst of our undressing season, we had a late rally against Texas which shortly fell apart. Colorado may yet find a way to squeak out three wins this season, but a bowl game is a pipe dream. We'll see what happens, but if you think the aura of Boulder is going to make up for a slow secondary, a terrible offensive line, and a quarterback who doesn't even belong in the conference, I'm not even sure I need to say anything. If Colorado is sitting at 1-11, 2-10, or even 9-3 when we come to Boulder, they'll play us like it's the Super Bowl. It won't matter. We have to bring our A game against them and Exhibit A is last year's game. I never said they didn't, but the difference is looking a little bigger, being that this year's Colorado squad doesn't look like they'll be within driving distance of a bowl game. I know Colorado plays Nebraska tough, especially at home, but that didn't stop a Callahan team from getting a 30-3 win over there a few years back. Anyway, for the time being, Nebraska has bigger fish to fry. That doesn't mean jack squat, even if it was Callahan. Colorado always has the potential to play Nebraska tough, no matter the talent gap. Hell even in 1997, Nebraska was 10-0 & I'm pretty sure Colorado had a losing record & they played us tough as hell. Of course, in '97 Colorado didnt have Dan Hawkins as their head coach & Cody Hawkins as their quarterback lol
  4. I hear you, I feel the exact same way. This game cannot come soon enough. At least now its less than a week...
  5. Yeah Virginia Tech sucks completely but Bowling Green has 1 hell of a football team
  6. Yeah thats cute - saying "try again" - you look so smart & u've made me look so dumb Yeah, I feel a little dumb right now but since I made an obvious reference to that other thread I figured that was obvious. What I meant - & I couldve been more clear - was that anything else I posted was meant to only pertain to this thread. I havent noticed any personal attacks made against the Tiger fans on this board - the threads you were referencing. I was trying to say my post was not meant to be pertaining to those threads b/c I havent read them or if I have then I missed the posts you were referring to. Obviously I'm well aware I made a direct reference to the thread where the Husker fan got banned for saying a-hole.
  7. So does this mean I can start calling any Missouri fan who makes a post I disagree with a "re-re"? Also, I searched through this threat & couldnt find anything posted by a Husker fan that could somehow be construed as a 'personal attack' against a Missouri fan. If you were referring to other threads, I don't read every single thread on Huskerboard - if I did happen to come across 1 of the threads then I mustve missed it. Also, I only intended for my post to pertain to this thread

  9. Tyrod Taylor doesn't know how to win games, his team knows how to win games. VT didn't beat Nebraska because of Tyrod Taylor, they beat us despite Tyrod Taylor.
  10. Dude, Alabama outgained them 498 to 155. Let me repeat that, 155 yards of total offense. Almost all of VT's points came off turnovers and special teams. Don't make it sound like they hung with the Tide. VT is so clearly overrated. The only people that don't see that are the ones with something to lose by them not being top 10. I mean, they've got a nice rushing game and a decent defense, but this is a top 25 team, not top 6. They're only that high because voters can't figure out any top teams this year. Nobody is separating themselves. I'm not making it sound like anything its not. All I did was state a fact, that VT was beating Alabama in the fourth quarter, 'dude'.
  11. VT is overrated? They were beating Alabama for a while in the 4th & Alabama is one of the best teams in the country, maybe the best. I'm pretty sure Alabama would crush Missouri
  12. Juice Williams is a better quarterback than Zac Lee? Thats f#cking hilarious
  13. That makes perfect sense. Gabbert and receivers are a billion times more talented than Tyrod Taylor and Co. The hookies running backs are average at best. And comparing playing at Vtech vs. Columbia is just plain stupid. Blaine Gabbert will be better than Tyrod Taylor. What about Taylor do you find impressive? He made bad throws the whole game against us & his 1 big throw at the end, any quarterback could've made that throw, his guy was 20 yards wide open. He's also supposed to be a big running threat but our defense just shut him down, he didn't do jack sh#t against us with his feet the whole game (neither will Gabbert). As for their running backs, I would definitely take Ryan Williams over Derrick Washington. I also doubt Missouri's o-line measures up to Virginia Tech's o-line.
  14. It doesn't matter what the fans think, I doubt Bo Pelini lets his team come to Boulder cocky & overconfident.
  15. So only Colorado State comes to Boulder & treats CU like a bitch?
  16. Auburn over Tennessee Alabama over Kentucky Georgia over LSU Virginia Tech over Duke Oklahoma over Miami Iowa over Arkansas State Penn State over Illinois Oregon over Washington State Michigan over Michigan State Mississippi State over Georgia Tech Clemson over Maryland Arkansas over Texas A&M Cincinnati over Miami-OH Houston over UTEP TCU over S. Methodist Mississippi over Vanderbilt Indiana over Ohio State California over USC
  17. We're not going to get blown out against Oklahoma. The game will be nothing like last year. If our defense shuts down & dominates the offenses of Missouri, Texas Tech, Iowa State & Baylor, the morning of the Oklahoma game would be the perfect time to distribute Blackshirts. Don't fear Oklahoma this year. The game is in Lincoln, NU will be 7-1 coming into the game, & we will be determined to pay Oklahoma back for what they did to us last year
  18. Our volleyball team beat off Texas??? Looks like our football team is going 2 have to kick their football teams ass
  19. The morning of the Oklahoma game
  20. Thank you, DocNice, for sharing that breakdown. I've been interested for the last week or so in reading a breakdown of Missouri's offense & defense and I'm glad that you provided 1. Here is my breakdown of the Huskers. I won't be able to describe things in the nice detail that you did, as I'm not really a football expert by any means, just a hardcore Husker fan who watches every Husker game. This is my personal breakdown based on what I've observed from Nebraska this year. Quarterback Zac Lee (6'2, 210 lbs) tore up Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State & UL-Lafayette. He had a somewhat of a bad day against VT but I personally think he did better than people say. He had some really good throws, had some good throws that were dropped, he had a bad interception & three or four bad passes that luckily weren't intercepted. I'm still impressed with Lee, he's a first year starter & his bad game was on the road in a tough enviroment against a damn good defense. Zac Lee has a cannon for an arm, i don't know if he can throw the football as far as Gabbert, but he does have a cannon. Alot of his throws are beautiful & pinpoint, where only his receiver has a chance to get it. He's also a significantly better decision maker than Joe Ganz. He's a decent scrambler & can make accurate throws while dodging defenders. He'll run the ball if he has to & he's not afraid to take a hit. Running Back Basically we're two deep at running back - Roy Helu & Rex Burkhead. Roy Helu is one of those shifty backs, not a power back. After the Arkansas State game, I thought that Helu was overrated but then the next week he tore up Virginia Tech's defense for 169 yards rushing & 33 receiving. One of the reasons, I think, why Helu only had average performances against Arkansas State & UL-Lafayette is because they stacked the box to stop the run, which didn't matter because it only helped Zac Lee tear them up in the passing game. Rex Burkhead is just a hardass. Our running backs have done a very solid job this year of maintaining control of the football. We haven't given up a single fumble all year, & although Helu fumbled twice against UL-Lafayette, both fumbles were recovered. Receivers IMO our receivers are solid but not spectacular. Our main four receivers are Menelik Holt, Curenski Gilleylen, Niles Paul & Chris Brooks. Menelik Holt is a big receiver (6'4, 220 lbs) & he's made some nice catches but seemed to have butterfingers against VT. Niles Paul is the best blocker out of our receivers, but as a receiver is inconsistent. He had a big day against Arkansas State & I remember him making a good play or two against VT, but didn't really do much against Florida Atlantic or UL-Lafayette. Curenski Gilleylen is our deep threat & seems to be Lee's favorite target, although Lee does a good job of distributing the ball evenly. Chris Brooks is our most underrated receiver IMO just because he does what a receiver is supposed to do - catch the ball. He's not a burner but if the ball's thrown his way he will catch it, he has very good hands. Offensive Line So far, our O-line has contained and dominated every d-line they've faced, with the exception of Virginia Tech DE Jason Worilds. They are very physical but they seem to get penalized alot. Our starters are LT Mike Smith (6'6, 295 lbs), LG Keith Williams (6'5, 305 lbs), C Jacob Hickman (6'4, 290 lbs), RG Ricky Henry (6'4, 300 lbs), RT Marcel Jones (6'7, 310 lbs). Defensive Line DT Ndamukong Suh is IMO the best lineman in the country, offensive or defensive. If you watched the Virginia Tech game, Suh flat out dominated preseason all-american guard Sergio Render. Suh is also pretty damn fast for a defensive tackle & already this year I've seen him run 10 yards or more past the line of scrimmage to tackle a guy. Jared Crick, the other starter at DT, is a solid player. DE Pierre Allen is a solid player & has pretty good speed. DE Barry Turner looked horrible against Arkansas State but he really picked it up against VT & had a damn good game, made 6 tackles or something & really just played solid the whole game. Linebackers Two of our three starting linebackers are redshirt freshmen - Sean Fisher & Will Compton. The other is Phil Dillard, who has been buried in the depth chart most of the spring & for the first two games but started against VT b/c our coaches thought he could help stop their running game & he played solid against VT. Our linebacking core isnt dominant but all three starters thus far seem to be solid tacklers. Secondary Our secondary is IMO the weakest part of our defense. Suprisingly the strong point of our secondary is SS Larry Asante, whos been playing good football so far (he got injured against UL-Lafayette but its supposed to be just a minor injury). The rest of our secondary is average, although I think CB Prince Amukamura & backup CB Alfonzo Dennard have potential. However, I'm not worried about our secondary b/c I feel the dominance of our defensive line will narrow the playing field for our secondary against Missouri's receivers.
  21. I agree. That was clearly a personal attack & there should be a warning. "There is absolutely no reason to verbally attack another user (aka flaming), and/or posting a message for the express purpose of generating a negative response (trolling)." Clearly a verbal attack on another user. Personally, I think Fro Daddy's post is not a big deal & pretty harmless. But I saw a Husker fan get banned a week or two ago for making a similar "personal attack" which also seemed like not a big deal & harmless (told someone to quit being an a-hole or no need to be an a-hole or something like that, a-hole is the exact word he used, he did not say a$$hole). It would be very hypocritical of the mod who banned that Husker fan to not at least issue Fro Daddy a warning for making a personal attack
  22. If that line stays, I'm putting $200 on Nebraska
