  1. No Utah No effin way I want to see a BCS game with a Utah vs BYU. <yawn>
  2. Definitely a game for both lines to hang their hats on. Even without the W, I now have a lot more confidence in our ability to win future games by the play of our guys in the trenches.
  3. I am re-watching the game right now and can't help but wonder what happened to the accuracy of Zac Lee's passing game. On the first possession of the second half on third down it struck me just how off he was. Curenski Gilleylen was very open on a passing route along the sideline, and Zac threw behind him. What's going on here? The first couple of games, these passes were gimmies.
  4. If this is Cy, there's not much I could do... Uh oh Edit: Well maybe this.
  5. Nah, no vagina signs for me. I sit on my lazy butt all game with the blue hairs.
  6. So I was walking back into the stadium for the second half, when I happened to see Andrew Rodriguez (95 percent sure it was him) and a couple other younger-looking football player type guys/friends, etc. I thought to myself, well thats kinda neat, but I'm in a hurry and the half will start in a few. Walking behind me is my wife. A 24 year old ex-sorority girl, that still could easily be confused with an attractive coed. So as I walk past Andrew and approach the gate, my wife tells me she can't find her ticket, as she digs through her obnoxiously large purse. This is husker football though. So as I continue into the turnstyle, I promptly tell her, "Well then you are going to miss the game." She ended up finding the ticket and was right behind me a little bit later. She told me that the three young guys standing outside the gate were talking about that being one of the coolest things they have ever seen. One of them saying "That is F%@#ing awesome!" Just doing what I can to help our recruiting efforts.
  7. Probably won't see this without a penalty flag. Players are not allowed to hit other players anymore. Damn PC movement and all the hippies in control of the government!!!
  8. Whoa, its hot in here. Anyhoo: 1) An option play for a score with Helu or Burkehead doing the scoring 2) No injuries (save for the opposing team's pride) 3) A big time bone crunching hit by one of our linebackers 4) A cheerleader wardrobe malfunction (female cheerleader for the doubters)
  9. (1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Since 1994 Pacific game? My first year of high school, freshman football, and the first time I have any memories of my dad taking me down to a game. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Dad went to UNL, so did I 3) Where are you from originally? Omaha 4) Where do you live now? Omaha 5) Favorite Husker memory? Going to the 1997 Washington game, being the underdog, and coming out with a victory! 6) Worst Husker memory? Watching the Arizona game in 1996. I probably cried. 7) Number of home games attended? Hmmm, 50-60? 8) Number of away games attended? 5 or 6 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Black shirts black tee with a red stylized skull and crossbones on it. Don't know where I got it, but I have never seen anyone else with it. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) South stadium, 56th row! 11) Favorite all time player? Mackovica's 12) WCO or Option? Option all the way, bring it back! 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Byrne 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie 15) Favorite Husker play? I form up the middle 3 times in a row for 8 yards each, with a 5 yard push from the offensive line each time 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Special Husker Punch (other than being red, it changes ingredients every time) 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) Huskerpedia maybe?
  10. Hehe, yeah. I tried a gif and png, and they didn't look as vivid as the jpeg. I'm so high maintenance...
  11. Yeah, I did the same thing and got #F8F8F6. I'm just being anal, cuz they are both very close, but I can still see a background difference. I might just have to trial and error it. Thanks Cacti!
  12. All things aside, I am completely opposed to this for no other reason than to boycott that hideous blue field. I hurts my brain and my eyes. I had to turn off the Oregon game for this reason. And it WAS damn hard to see their players.
  13. Alabama Recruiting Classes:Nebraska Recruiting Classes per Rivals.com 2005 18:4 2006 11:20 2007 10:13 2008 1:30 (Coaching Change - Alabama) 2009 1:28 (Coaching Change - Nebraska) Looks like last years team makeup was pretty even, unless their whole freshman class was playing. I doubt that. Otherwise, stars say we were recruiting about even. Granted, many of our high star players never panned out, but I'd bet Alabama had a few too.
  14. Granted - yes, Alabama was ranked number 2 at the time (or some such I didn't look, but will take your word that sounds right). But this is also the same Alabama that was 7-6 the year before under a brand new head coach that was just beginning to install his schemes and players in the system. Big change the next season. Comparatively, yes, we are not ranked in the top of the country, but my speculation is that you will not be able to hold up in the trenches with the depth and skill that we have. Now I don't know a whole lot about your team, and comparing teams between 2 different years is usually an exercise in futility - so I may very well be totally off base. But my hunch that as the game wears on, depth will become a factor in the trenches, like I said. You probably have a few starters that would start for us. But we probably have a lot of second stringers that would start for you. Statistically that does not bode well for you guys, but crazy things can happen, and that is why we play the game. Look forward to a great contest, a clear sunny day, and good luck to ya'all. See you Saturday!!!
  15. Hey, does anyone know the background color number for our Avatar area. I want to match the color background of my image. Thanks!
  16. After watching the footage, two things stand out to me. (which pretty much agree with ray) First, it looks like they have some speed. They adequately kept up with Alabama and clearly were much faster than MVSU. They swarmed to the ball effectively and clearly outclassed MVSU with their speed. BUT. Second, they did not look very powerful. Yes, their lines blew MVSU off the line of scrimmage and their skill positions outran and overpowered MVSU. However, the exact same can be said about Alabama against ASU. Alabama's defensive line DESTROYED their offensive line (and these were only the highlights). Watch the defensive series from 1:40 to 2:13. Other than a nice scamper from their quarterback, ASU's quarterback/back had pressure almost immediately - and this was in the second quarter. The gas tanks on the offensive line for ASU should still have had some juice. Same thing again from 4:00 to 4:33. Then looks at the blocking by the Alabama o-line and receivers. No trouble for Alabama containing, and ASU's pass rush was largely ineffective. The final score and stats tell a lot: 35-0 ASU: 91 Yards Rushing (2.5 yards per) 67 Yards Passing (8/17) 2/12 3rd downs I say we have to match up a lot closer to Alabama than ASU, and I see the ASU having a lot of trouble in the trenches in our game. Thats where we will win this, and it could get ugly very fast if we can play up to our potential, especially defensively.
  17. And a darn good thing this guy decided to commit to LSU. Edit: Although I'd still take him, just for the sake of sheer confusion!
  18. Touché good sir. Two shots to me for Mr ZAC Lee.
  19. After watching Zach Lee's interview (Huskers.com), I have decided to devote my first post to a drinking game in his honor. Every time Zach Lee says "You Know" I will be taking a shot - who's with me?! (I think this could get more dangerous than the dazed and confused drinking game...)
