  2. What do you mean none of those is gonna happen soon! Last time I checked, Colorado and K-State both sucked. We happened to suck last year too, but anyone who thinks that we wont be a hell of alot better this year is either crazy or an OU fan. I went to every single home game last year, and to be honest we should have beat every team we played by thirty points. I have never seen so many guys open on the same play, and I have been to about ten different football stadiums at the pro and college level. If we had a half way decent quarterback, we would have scored at least forty points in every game (with the possible exception of the OU game.) I predict that we beat either Colorado or K-State by thirty THIS YEAR. I voted for the Texas Tech one by the way, just because I honestly felt physically ill after watching the first half of the game last year, and maybe my sessions with my therapist would go better if I didnt keep having the same nightmare every night.
  3. I cant wait until this kid comes on an official visit. From the video i have seen of him and the measurables, this guy could be the best safety in college football very quickly, and he grew up a husker fan. Man this kid can hit, he can run, he can do it all. When he comes, you better believe I will be sitting in the student section leading the chant, Tay-Lor Mays!
  4. have you seen a picture of this guy? he looks kind of scary anyways. I dont know if i want to be with in 500 miles of him, so I guess i wont miss him on the huskers too much. Besides, in two years we will be able to line up Tomerlin and Herian at the same time. Paddy who?
  5. he definately looks at least quick in those videos, if not outright fast. The man is 6'4'', so even if is sacrificing a little overall speed to a corner, who cares. He is probably 4 or 5 inches taller than him anyways. Seems to be a Callahan trend in targeting receivers. Brooks is 6'3'' and all of the guys he is going after this year are tall boys as well. Probably has some plan in mind.
  6. Looks like he would make a great player, but I hardly say that he reminds me of christian or jason peters. Looks more like a run stopping, gilbert brown kind of guy. Tough to move a 320 pound guy in the middle.
  7. I dont like him. He looks like a much slower Michael Vick/Vince Young type player. He relies too much on his feet in the pocket and i dont think he projects into our pro style offense very well. Wouldnt want to play him when he is heading a Meyer run gimmic offense though, but lets see him try to run from defensive ends that are actually faster than he is.
  8. does anyone know if this guy is leaning towards an early commit or not? He would be a great pick up early in the recruiting season, but those big name east coast guys are tough to get away from the ACC/SEC. I hope he ends up a husker.
  9. as far as our depth at DE goes, yes, we have alot of scholarships allocated to that position, but no impact pass rusher. Benard Thomas was our leader in sacks last year at four, which is not exactly impressive. We need a weak side DE that can rush the passer consistanly and not let a Texas Tech quarterback sit in the pocket for 5 seconds and pick our secondary apart. Having that poor a pass defense while still having two members of the secondary go in the top 40 picks says something about our d line.
  10. good point, but i really hope we get Mays, That guy is gonna be a stud
  11. The way I look at it, either Cate doesnt have all that great a football mind, or his body is incapable of executing what his mind is telling him to do. How can you say that a man who completes only fifty percent of his passes has great field vision. You know who else completed fifty percent of his passes, JD. Every pass that your receiver doesnt catch has a chance to be caught by the other team, and quick feet dont make a quarterback. Are you gonna tell me that Peyton Manning is quick in the pocket? I have seen video of both of these guys throw, and I tell you that Freeman has better field vision and projects better into college football. I think that you will find that every single major scouting site on the web will agree with me.
  12. I can see why he isnt getting many offers. It would seem that alot of schools will be turned off due to his lack of size and speed. Where do you play this guy, weak side? He's too slow. In the middle or at sam, he's two small. Just seems to be to much of a tweener.
  13. Not a great loss if we dont get this guy if we manage to land Taylor Mays, all though some depth at safety would be nice. We seem to be scary thin at that position, espeically if Jackson remains a running back.
  14. wow, it sounds like the guys is a pencil. 6'2'' and only a 180? I hope that he puts on some muscle because with that forty time, i have a hard time seeing him be a burner
  15. According to some sources with in the athletic department, the huskers really do want him, but they are gonna wait until he attends camp to offer. His brother says that he will definately come to camp and that he loved his experience at the spring game. The reason the huskers are waiting on him is that they want to maintain their image as a school that takes only the best, and they feel that by holding out on Roark, who would seem to be an automatic offer, they can improve their image in the minds of both Chad and other potential Huskers. Look for Chad to be a Husker in two years.
  16. If this guy is actuall that tall, that big, and that fast, he should definately be on the top of the list as far as jc guys that we should go after. We had a horrible pass rush last year and this guy could really help us out. I think that if we can at least get him to a game we have a shot. I'd like to see the tea party that is an Arizona game versus the Sea of Red. That might change his mind.
  17. I have to disagree with you Eric. While Cate does have more impressive numbers, especially in yards and touchdowns, look at both the completion percentage and the number of attempts. Freeman completes 60% of his passes where as Cate is only at fifty, and Cate's numbers can be partially attributed to the fact that he threw twice as much. Also, Freeman is listed in the rivals pre top 100, where as Cate had not yet been mentioned as being a premier recruit. Give me both, but if I had to pick one, I take Freeman all the way. Also, 6'6 1/2'' as measured during the recent Adidas Elite quarterback camp. Wow!
