  1. I totally scrapped everything, made a list of all the undefeated and one-loss teams, and ranked them by their 2009 resume. It looks totally different and Nebraska shook out to No. 14. Read here: http://live-wire-media.blogspot.com/ Heres a clip: "The Huskers have whacked a trio of Sun Belt teams by a total margin of 142-12. They had the game won against Virginia Tech and couldn’t close. That may be a result of a head coach with less than two years under his belt. Say Nebraska wins they game they are a Top-10 team." "In all the Big XII outscored opponents 473-140 this week and went 9-1 on the week. Thanks Texas Tech!" Thanks for the forum!
  2. Mizzou v. Nevada just ended. I'll give Tigers fans this, Gabbert is good and will likely be a star soon. However, the Tigers rushing game is weak and Nevada did a great job plugging it all game. With the exception of a couple big runs, Mizzou is one-dimentional. Gabbert bailed Mizzou out of a half dozen third and longs by scrambling and throwing. The game completely changed on Lippincotts' fumble early in the 4th. Otherwise Nevada might win outright. Thats all good against Nevada who does not have the best athletes, but Gabbert won't get that kind of time against Nebraska. And if they can't run it, we'll bring the wood on the pass and trust that Suh is way bigger and faster than anyone Nevada has (Although than Brandon Marshall, #33 is a stud). Mizzou's defense also had no answer for how well Kaepernick could run. Granted Zac Lee can't run like him but Helu can. Nebraska running game is going to set up a couple longer passes by Nebraska and the Huskers defense will render Mizzou one dimentional. Plus with the extra week for Nebraska to prepare, it's over. Once again like I have said in my blog, don't take teams that haven't played anyone seriously. A late win against Bowling Green and a 10-point win over a winless Nevada doesn't impress me.
  3. Called the Ole Miss loss. Woohoo! And to my Missouri friend, fro daddy, watch your Tigers lose tonight too. HAHA! And that will be a soft blow compared to what the Huskers do to you in a couple weeks. Go 'Skers!
  4. Read the rest and you'll see why. Kansas has played a parade of nobodies and Mizzou damn near lost to Bowling Green. I don't do my ranking based off the others. I don't even look at them. I base my rankings based on who I think the better team is in certain situations. A dominant performance over a top 15 opponent in a game Nebraska should have won tells me more about how good Nebraska is more than a win over Duke tells me about Kansas. You have to understand I'm not buying into traditional ways of ranking systems when doing this.
  5. Yes, I did not drop the Huskers like the other polls did. Here's a clip: Random Thought: Homer warning! You don't think these polls are ridiculous, check this week out. The AP Poll has Washington ranked above Nebraska. So what, Washington beat a washed out USC team that was likely overrated to begin with and now they get all this love. Their next loss is right around the corner. Both polls have Kansas above Nebraska and the USA Today poll has Missouri above Nebraska. Does anyone really think that Kansas, Washington and Missouri could beat the Huskers ... really? Nebraska could likely beat LSU, Ohio State, BYU, and Georgia who are all ranked above them, and give us Virginia Tech in a seven game, we win the series in six. But football is one game and one game only. Bring it every week. http://live-wire-media.blogspot.com/ Thanks all! Go 'Skers!
  6. Seems there has been an excuse by a lot of ESPN guys the last couple years to hate on the Huskers, yet they remain in love with teams like Florida State and Notre Dame. What the hell have they done lately.
  7. Thank you! It would depend a lot on what happened above them. There arent a lot of marquee match-ups this week, so I'm not anticipating a lot of movement. But I would put Nebraska somewhere in the top 15 if they do win. And to the guy saying its an ad ... ads are for products that make money. Its relavent because this is a college football board and the author (me) is local. If you don't like the blog, don't read it, but I do put a lot of effort into it, so say what you will. Would you rather me post the entire thing as a post on the message board? That would be annoying huh? Thanks all!
  8. I can take the heat and admit I was wrong. Here is this week's installment. http://live-wire-media.blogspot.com/ A little more polished and more in-depth this time. Thanks for all comments, praise or hate.
  9. By the grammar being used I would say this is Tufftiger in disguise. You're right, that was lame and amateurish. And Marlin Briscoe was a QB for UNO, Dezmon is receiver for KU. Thanks for the catch. Thats why I need you guys. Been edited! lol! I think we all agree the FAU game was what we expected aside from the defensive domination I thought we would have. The reason I have Notre Dame No. 6 is because I truly believe they will beat USC. That's a road game for the Trojans sandwiched between Cal and Oregon State. And if USC doesn't beat Notre Dame, who's going to? So by year's end they will be right there in the top 5 neighborhood. And I'm not getting paid for the blog, just something I do for fun, so take it for what it is. Everyone has a blog now, right. Thanks guys and go 'Skers!
  10. Find out why here: http://live-wire-media.blogspot.com/ Every week I will update the Live Wire Top 25 along with random thoughts, teams on the cusp, upset picks and locks. I am a Husker fan living in Nebraska for 23 years. I wrote college sports in college and won a couple awards. Hope you enjoy the blog!
