  1. What if we lost to Texas in a close one but knocked McCoy out for the title game? It could happen. Yep. I'm predicting it. Mark it down. A McCoy-less Texas team will get smoked in the title game by Florida. And we will once again have to hear the Tebow love-fest for another 9 months until the season starts.
  2. Perhaps. Maybe they don't want to tom a drop.
  3. The pitch was right in Helu's hands and should have the been caught. Was Lee's read spot-on? No! But his read and pitch had nothing to do with Helu dropping the pitch. Considering that Bo jumped all over Watson and Watson jumped all over Lee, do you think Lee checked off to the option play and got ripped for doing so? That's exactly what I thought when he ripped on him. Otherwise I think maybe he would have been just mildly pissed, but not ready to rip off his helmet and beat him with it.
  4. That would make me very happy if that was the case.
  5. If it were Dan Alexander or Buckhalter back there they wouldn't have caught that either. It was up toward his face-mask. I'll say the blame is shared equally between the two of them. It's not all on Helu. But why run option with Lee anyway? He's not a threat to run it. Why not just run a quick pitch if you want to run it wide?
  6. I said that every single time we ran that crap with Lee. My wife was getting annoyed.
  7. We had 180 yards of offense and our only TD came from the 1/2 yd line. We still have some real concerns on offense and if you don't think so, you're not watching the same game. I don't fee confident with Lee or Green or anyone back there for that matter. A great win nonetheless.
  8. Very nice Epoc. Best video I've seen in tunnel walk for some time.
  9. With last year's offense we would be undefeated. No question in my mind.
  10. That's what I'm talking about! Let's take the series lead from everybody!
  11. And the icing on the cake was the victory over OU. Most importantly.... Series is now 38-44-3. Much better than 37-45-3. It's within reach now!
  12. I have to agree with him based on my one time there this year. The atmosphere was very poor. Did you see those old videos of what the fans were like when we beat OU? Whatever happened to that?
  13. I can't think of anything I like about him or his offense. I don't care who he plays at QB, rb or receiver. I will never get excited about seeing our O on the field.
  14. I'd have to disagree on both of these. The pass to McNeil was more than "a little behind" and the pass to Gill was too high. Catchable yes.... But high nonetheless. Count me in on the "put Green in for a series or two" crowd. I don't necessarily think you need to start him. But get him in the game a couple times. I was pissed last year too when our backups got no action. If Ganz got hurt we would have been screwed. And there were a couple games where we could have gotten backups in, other than OU. I disagree, I think you need to start him and see what happens. What if we get in a hole like the TT game or Lee all of a sudden comes out on fire, he doesn't get a true shot. Could happen. Good points by all, no easy answers. But I don't see the harm giving him at least a series or two. Who knows. We won't know that we're all wrong unless he's been given a chance.

  16. My old boss when I lived in Kansas was an OU fan. He called it the Corn Coast Offense. I thought it fit pretty well.
  17. If you're looking to be happy about something, consider that the D is thus far the best in recent memory as far as ppg allowed, which is the only stat on defense I care about. Yes it will probably go up with OU and KU coming up, but still impressive considering we don't give these guys much of a rest during the game through substitution. The powerful WCO had its best year last year, producing just over 35 points/game. These stats don't include the bowl games. On a side note, do you think our D line is going to start some signs of fatigue toward the end of the season? They looked tired to me in the fourth against ISU.
  18. If you ask a dumb question you will get dumb answers. You shouldn't be surprised. Wondering what people's backgrounds are in football is dumb. Ok. Thanks for responding.
  19. I realize that... I'm just curious. A few of the posters on here have gotten into quite a bit of detail surounding defense, blocking schemes, etc. So I was just wondering.
  20. While I agree with nearly everything you said, I found the Scarlettes to be the only interesting thing to watch during the Texas Tech game since I wasn't able to stand up and cheer on my team due to cranky fans around me. I do think the racing pop bottles and the other crap on the big screen completely takes away from what could be a good atmosphere. As is, it is really weak and I don't even enjoy going there any more. I also find it funny to hear the announcers that cover our games go on and on and on about what a special place it is. I wonder what it would be like to see a game at LSU or Tennessee or Ohio State. I bet it would be a much more memorable experience.
  21. Let's try not to get into the Green vs. Lee argument here. But seriously think about what you would do short-term(remainder of the season) and next year and beyond. I prefer that Bo has a hand in the offense and we go to more of a power running attack first and run play action out of it. Keep it simple. I would prefer we transition out of the west coat offense somehow after this season. I don't know if I'd get rid of Watson. It's a tough problem to deal with. I just don't feel like we'll ever be a top 5 team running the WCO. I'd prefer to run an offense similar to Florida or Boise St. I think that could be effective for us. It also seems that our O-line is effective running out of power sets but get beat and miss blocks on these zone read plays. I'm not really sure why that is.
