  1. actually zac lee is really bad still. when we had the lead it was obviously smart to put in zac just so cody doesnt make a rookie mistake to lose the game. bo was playing to win the game today, which i love. i think we should start cody from here on out though.
  2. going down with some friends just wondering if we need to buy them in advance
  3. i'm feeling a reverse to Latravis then he passes it deep to Khiry this weekend. secret trick play we've been saving
  4. also.. wonder if he'll still take the missouri visit in december...
  5. it is now OFFICIAL! curtis carter is N. much needed playmaker for us
  6. so is griffinfan7 curtis carters dad? he only has 25 posts on rivals so i would assume he is. i would think someone with such credible info would have more posts than that
  7. sorry this is off topic. anyone know how to change my display name?
  8. thats pretty funny. i heard the joke for keller a couple years ago too
  9. I hope this whole Pelini-Watson relationship doesn't cost Bo his job in the long run. It's what first started talks of dumping Callahan (his love for Coz). Obviously Bill wasn't the right fit for NU, but he still made the mistake in tending to his friends needs rather than the state of Nebraska's needs. Even if Watson gets it together for the rest of the season, I just think he needs to be let go. He may be a good offensive mind at HIS offense. But HIS offense isn't the right offense for the skers. He belongs in the NFL with Cally. They have an entire NFL career to learn his complicated offense. Our players have 4 to 5 years. We need to get rid of him after this season. I'm not even a huge fan of Cotton, but I would rather have him as the OC because I know we'd play smashmouth football. Maybe struggling on offense for the rest of this season could be a blessing in disguise for the future (though I'd never be able to root for that to happen).
  10. We need an Alabama-style offense. With our geographical location, it's alot harder to recruit the stellar athletes. But, as we have proved in the past, we can recruit and build strength and technique. We can rely on pounding the rock and let that open up the pass. Many of our quarterbacks of the past that couldn't throw very accurately (Lord, Crouch, Frost, Frazier, etc.) had decent passing stats because passing works when the run game is great. Instead of playing four wide receivers (one of our weakest positions when it comes to recruiting), we can play two tight ends and two receivers, or a fullback with a TE and two WRs. This is the style of offense I thought would come to Nebraska when Bo got here, but unfortunately he decided to keep Wats. I wasn't a fan of that decision at the time. Even when our offense was thriving (end of last year), something inside just made me feel like Wats wasn't right, and now it's showing. He needs to go at the end of this year. People will say that his offense always starts slow at the beginning of the year, but when we're back in the National Championship picture, we can't let that happen, because every game matters, not just conference games. I hope Wats can prove me wrong, but I just don't see it happening.
  11. i hope helu is still sick otherwise it just means watson has no clue what hes doing. we rarely run. when we do run, its always from the shotgun. pound the rock. we dont need to trick teams. this will improve quarterback play immensely. when we do pass. give the ball to mike mcneill. he catches the ball. he is good. finally, i was as big of a zac lee supporter as anyone. its time to start cody. if nothing else, just because it gives hope for the future.
  12. why do you think okafor will be getting snaps? lester ward, austin jones, and marcus mendoza are all ahead of him. personally i think and hope mendoza rises to the occasion because he has the most talent, speed/quickness, plus good hands for receiving... all qualities you want to see in a 3rd down back. if mendoza doesnt step up, im not sure ward or jones are capable of the task. hopefully im proved wrong because sounds like rex is out for the regular season. were in deep trouble if helu goes down You're right. I don't know who's in line for snaps after Burkhead. Maybe it isn't Okafor, but he at least had a pretty decent Spring Game. That's why I tossed his name out there. The point I was trying to make (but didn't) was that RB is an injury-plagued position, and we've got Helu with a ding on his shoulder and Burkhead out, so anyone on that roster has to think they've got a chance to play. At least a chance. yes that is a good point. too add to what i said earlier, i could see ward making an impact too. i guess hes only a RFr. may have only been a two star but many texas guys get overlooked and he did have an offer from missouri. hopefully he can be a capable backup but as a starter? cross our fingers on roy staying healthy
  13. Agreed. Like I said earlier, RB is traditionally the easiest position to replace. Okafor is probably VERY happy he didn't leave the team at this point. I'm betting he's in line for the snaps behind Helu this week, and if TT's run defense plays up to form, Helu should be gassed pretty early. why do you think okafor will be getting snaps? lester ward, austin jones, and marcus mendoza are all ahead of him. personally i think and hope mendoza rises to the occasion because he has the most talent, speed/quickness, plus good hands for receiving... all qualities you want to see in a 3rd down back. if mendoza doesnt step up, im not sure ward or jones are capable of the task. hopefully im proved wrong because sounds like rex is out for the regular season. were in deep trouble if helu goes down
  14. i agree we are definitely missing that big time receiver. hopefully of those 6 big targets that we can land 3 of them (i would prefer hill, carter, and reese) and one of them will become big time. niles is nice to have but hes not showing he can be a star. honestly he was being recruited as the deep threat nebraska desperately needed. but that deep pass to him against missouri was his first ever deep ball caught. i do believe bell is going to be the main man no later than 2 years from now, hopefully even next year
