Read what, listen to the recording. Or bury your head in the sand.   Either way.

I'm not doubting there are some not great things on the recording. The problem is who is putting it out. Veritas is the same group who have edited video of a confrontation to try to prove their story. @RedDenver is correct in wanting to wait for a more reputable source, or an entire release. O'Keefe is a known bad faith actor in his reporting.

I said exactly this point.  Why are you pointing at me when saying this?   Not sure much clearer I can be on this question.

    he lost.

he can bring a challenge to the election

he needs to have evidence if he does so

I was quoting you because I agree with this sentiment. Essentially challenge it but bring evidence.

I was pointing out the continued influence POTUS is trying to exert on state legislators and electors. That needs to stop. NOW! Wouldn't you agree?

Yes, he has the right to go through the courts as he sees fit.

However, he DOESN'T have the right to purposely and methodically brainwash his followers into tearing down the most sacred parts of our Democracy.  And, Republicans that are helping him do that should be held accountable in their next elections.

@Archy1221 I recognize the right to challenge the process where they believe there were irregularities or cases of voter/election fraud. But just the belief will not win you a court case. There has to be verifiable evidence. There have been republican officials in these key states where the law suits are filed who have stated there have been no irregularities.

The other thing is you do not have the right as the sitting President of the United States of America to reach out and ask those in positions of power overturn elections. You can't ask that the majority vote getter in each state not receive their state ruled electorates.

I believe Trump did a great job of building his brand. He now enjoys a wider appeal with a segment of the population. The schadefreude occurring now is only hurting him with the more centrist/moderate members of the GOP.

trump and his capos are just trying to get the claims out there to stir up their "base"     and it will lead to violence.  IMO  it is unavoidable at this point.    the only question is how much violence will there be?

Much of this feels like a scorned spouse who lost the furniture in the divorce, so they burn it on the front lawn. Like the administration are going to try and stir up as many fires as they can to make the job going forward that much harder for the new admin.

The funny thing is how did this massive voter fraud only go to help Biden. Why wouldn't they help down ballot Dems. If you took a look at ballot totals for the state, I may even venture to guess that there would be less votes tabulated for the presidential candidates than for senate candidates. My wife, who is an staunch republican, chose not to vote on the presidential section. Thus one less presidential vote compared to the senate vote totals.

Do you ever read a tweet thread like this and just want to yell "F-word" really lout? The way that Trump whips these type of people into a frenzy is ridiculous. There are no attempts to bring people together. No attempts to bring down the temperature of this country, covid fever or otherwise. No attempts to encourage people to be better people. He just tries to trigger that more basic part of the human brain; these primitive instincts where each response is only an escalation of the one that came before. It's exhausting. Be well Huskerboard, these next few days could be trying in everyway imaginable.

And they are only going to get angrier it Trump loses.

Just checking with any of our Huskerboard law enforcement folks on if a citation would be warranted. Seemed to make purposeful contact with another vehicle. Seems to be a step above negligent.

the FBI has had the laptop since December.  Which raises the question of why it wasn't discussed during the impeachment sham.

I thought what was turned over to the FBI was the External Hard Drive that was purchased after the item was dropped off for repairs. Anything that was copied over from the internal SSD to an external hard drive would be considered tainted. That's because items can be corrupted or added to the external hard drive to make it seem like it was part of the original copy. That's why if this was really an issue, I believe the FBI would have attempted to subpoena the laptop.

Then who were those clowns last week who assured us it was a fake Russian something?  Don't you need to examine it first?

I think the general consensus is that both can be true. This can be a piece of Russian disinformation being spread through Rudy. It can also still be in his possession, not viewed by independent examiners. He may not want it to be scrutinized because the meta data my blow up the entire story.

Yep, there's no way I'm putting a Biden sign up in my yard.  I already get one hell of a lot of crap from friends who know me well enough to know who I'm voting for.  I don't need some random idiot vandalizing my house.

i would put up a biden sign but i am afraid an enraged trumper would drive by and shoot up the house....and my wife runs an in home daycare so i don't want to endanger the kids.

And I don't want to sound like a prude, but what is with the "Trump 2020/No More Bulls*!t" signs. I curse, but don't do it in front of my kids. My oldest is 10. She can read that sign, neighbor. You are a retired late 70ish couple with a Mother Mary statue in your front yard too. What are you doing?

I saw a doctor talking about this and she said not to read super far into him getting out of the hospital. The White House has a full medical unit that's darn near an ER and they have all the equipment they need to monitor him. A regular person being sent home with no monitoring or maybe an O2 sensor and Trump back at the White House are very different things. He's still being monitored really closely.

This. The White House basically has an ICU suite. If he's on the mend and 02 stats are stable, then being in there as opposed to Walter Reed doesn't really matter. The only issue is isolation to others and if strict droplet protection can be maintained. Mask up and gown up before entry.

Trump never paid income tax in the UK because he posted net losses from his properties there, every year.

Yet, millions of dollars flowed through those properties every year. He shows up as the lender, the borrower and the principle owner in a lot of those tax records. He loaned himself money, he spent that money, and he posted increases in valuation for those properties, yet made no profit. And all that time, he made zero significant improvements to any of the properties - at least, nothing that would justify the money flowing in and out.

The question is, where did Trump get the money that flowed through those properties? And why go through the charade of putting money in and taking money out year after year?

If you're voting for this guy and you don't know the answers to those questions, when Trump calls you a "sucker," he's right.

I feel like Ozark helped me realize how some of this higher level money laundering works.

We might have a reprieve - with all of the news on trump's finances, I hope it secures him 4 years in the jail house instead of the White House.  Then we don't need to move to Canada.  I've also heard Costa Rica or Belize is a good place to move to if one was so inclined.

If what is being revealed is fraudulent, why has the IRS not pursued before? I'm not trying to say it looks great for the president, but is anything in there actionable?

If you don't know Tyler Childers, you are missing out on a national treasure. He's an amazing songwriter whose voice only aids in the story telling and the pain in it. I know I can't put this in a status update since it's P&R related, and I don't really know where else this needs to go. But he does give a call to action to vote, so I guess here is as good of a place as any. His calls for empathy and understanding of our fellow man ring especially true to me. "Love each other, no exceptions."

If you want some good music from him: White House Road, Charleston Girl, Dead Man's Curve, and for a fun one Ever Lovin' Hand.

This is a pretty good idea.

While at it, make "Coding" a foreign language requirement and get our youth learning to code instead of taking French

And for the millionth time...teaching trades in HS and partner with tech schools and local unions to start those apprenticeships early!

Oh, and zero non-educators on school boards.

I was just going to say that. Offer kids coding early.

On the trade school front, the town I live in has partnered up with CCC and it seems to be a thriving endeavor. "Don't give a rip about Creative Writing but love to work on diesel motors? Cool, here's a few classes to take that lead in to the Tech school." :thumbs

This is one part of it. The fact that Trump doesn't prepare for the town halls or debates and Biden does is another key in this whole issue.

Another huge part of it, is if an undecided voter has an issue with the current state of the country, it's a much easier question to answer from a challenger position compared to an incumbent. This reason alone swung some voters to Trump in 2016. The mentality of "Let's see if he can do any better than career politicians/diplomats", is one I heard quite a few times. I understood where that person was coming from, but don't agree with that application to The President of The United States of America.

  17. So is this a commission to promote the history of American Exceptionalism, but not promote education avenues for us to be exceptional going forward? I would rather there was a commission on the promotion of STEM in our education system. I don't understand how a degree in Chemical Engineering is a Liberal degree. Even if that degree came from UC Berkeley.
