  1. Exactly. The debat is actually hyping up Green more than anyone intends to. We are not saying he's the next Tommie Frazier. We're just saying he's the next guy on the QB depth chart!
  2. Then again, we could just do like Texas did with Colt McCoy, throw him out there as a freshman, let him get the crap beat out of him, and see how tough he is. If he survives, and the O-line finally gets their crap together, he'll do great. If he can't take it, we just look for another QB, right? .....It's not that crazy to play a freshmen.... look at Barkley and remember a guy named tommie frazier. I know Green is neither but youngs guys need to be thrown in there sometimes. And it may send a message to the other players that change is needed.
  3. Good point. After losing to ISU I should be worrying about Baylor next week.... After I get my head examined.
  4. Yeah, i'm dreaming. But I think it reinforces the argument to try something different with Green. We shouldn't still be able to win the North but with just average offensive output I think we are the favorite.
  5. Iowa State plays at A&M, then Ok State, CO, at Mizzou. They will lose two of those for sure for 4 conf losses. Yes, we have to win out except for Oklahoma but I see this as the most likely scenario considering the other team's schedules (We get K State at home). Yes, this was an embarrassing loss but the entire North seems pretty weak and I doubt we'll go -8 again on turnovers. Am I crazy?
  6. I don't even see how this is a debate. I have no clue if Green (or another backup for that matter) is any good. I DO KNOW that Lee has led a miserable offensive performance for 3 weeks (except for one quarter) in a row. Even if it's not all his fault, the backup deserves to be in the game. The question is...... Why does Lee DESERVE to start?
  7. Huskers1.... "We start gaining momentum running the ball with a fullback or the same formation that they ran on the last drive against mizzou and we probably gain at least 6 ypc." Exactly. It was so obvious that formation was working but then we stopped doing it. It's really BASIC coaching skills.
  8. Great post. How embarrassing that Bo said that. My respect for him is dwindling. And like you said, if Green plays... How much worse can it get? And it's not that people have a stiffy for Green.... I even think Lee is average.... BUT WHY NOT PLAY THE BACKUP?
  9. The coaches are miserable. They need to be asked some very tough questions. We lost to Iowa State, had 8 turnovers, AND CODY GREEN NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE DOWN. Even if you are crazy enough to think Lee is above average.....how could they not put GREEN in? What could be the possible reason NOT to do this? Lee is mediocre at best and everyone knows it. This isn't about whether it is Lee's fault. For all anyone knows..... Green is a playmaker and the future of the program. Why not try him out against Iowa State. And for God's sake maybe put him in for a few downs.... I can go watch our offense at the local 3rd grade rec league. How many times will it take to figure out we need a fullback in to block for the running back!
