  1. Big XII blogger Tim Griffin has us going Cotton. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/i...owl-obligations Mark Schlabach has us going Holiday while Bruce Feldman has us going Cotton. http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections
  2. By prestige, I base it on payout. Fiesta = 17 million Cotton = 3 million Gator = 2.5 million Holiday = 2.3 million Alamo = 2.2 million Sun = 1.9 million Insight = 1.2 million Independence = 1.1 million Texas = 750k
  3. Fiesta > Cotton > Holiday ^^ I'll take it in that order given whatever circumstances we're dealt after Dec. 5th.
  4. I like our chances going into this game. I love the fact that all the analysts have already written us off two weeks ahead of the game. Being the underdog has its advantages in this type of situation, so lets embrace it. On the other hand, as I've said in another thread that I posted last week, we have yet to put together that PERFECT GAME this year against a BCS-caliber team where both sides of the ball is playing lights out for 4 quarters. I can't help but wonder if this will be the game we deliver such a task? Lastly, I hope Watson digs up a couple of trick plays for Texas. We have to play something that Texas hasn't seen in films this year. I can't think of a more opportune time to pull them out? GBR
  5. Great thread. I'd also like to extend my thanks & well wishes to all 13 seniors who represented this football team. Wherever life takes you, just always know that you're a HUSKER no matter what. Wear that badge of honor with pride wherever you go.
  6. Chuck Liddell is definitely a Husker fan. I remember when he was on the Husker sidelines when Mizzou came to town last year. Interesting tidbit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Liddell
  7. Just before the Ole Miss-Tennessee kickoff last Saturday, the analysts were talking about Monte Kiffin's defensive pedigree and how his mentors were Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne. They briefly threw up both coaches pictures on the screen. Pretty cool.

  9. I like OU's chances IF their O-Line protects Jones and they don't turn the ball over.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing the 1st scenario play out. Cotton Bowl = More prestigious bowl, bigger payout, New Year's Day bowl game. http://blog.newsok.com/berrytramel/2009/11...u-destinations/
  11. Colorado is usually more dangerous when they have nothing to lose.
  12. Had a good convo with my Dad earlier today and told him that we have yet to put together THE perfect game this year against a worthy BCS team where both sides of the ball are playing lights out. By perfect, I mean playing up to and even beyond our capabilities on both sides of the ball. Limiting mental miscues (penalties, play clock management, etc.) Assuming that we play for the Big XII Championship, it would be great to see THE perfect game come together against Texas and spoiling their shot at the National Title as well as having a chance to play in a BCS bowl. After seeing the offense show some life yesterday, I couldn't help but be optimistic about the direction we're headed going into the final 2 games of the regular season. If Nebraska does win out the rest of this season, it would go down as one of the strangest yet bittersweet seasons in the history of our program. What are your thoughts?

  15. Let's have fun with this.
  16. Anytime we play against a run & gun type of QB, our defense is usually in for a long day. Case in point: Taylor Sheffield Reesing I'm always on the edge of my seat. Our secondary has been known to blow big plays against those types of QB's. Nonetheless though, I'm happy that our "O" stepped it up today.

  19. As hard as it is to swallow today's loss, I agree with robsker. At the same time, I also understand the pessimism expressed in here as well. It's unfortunate that the offense is suffering a midseason meltdown. If there was ever a time when a program needed a "pick-me-up" from its fans, NOW is the time from here on out. There is still a lot of ball left to play before we decide to write this season off as fans. Hang in there Husker Nation. We've survived the Callahan era. Surely we can manage this one too?
  20. I hope Suh continues to elevate his level of play throughout the rest of the season. Voters would be remiss not to invite him to NY for the ceremonies at the very least. Bottom line: Suh is a GRIDIRON GRAPPLER.
