  1. UT appears quite willing to jump to the PAC-10 if Nebraska and/or Mizzou leave. How the h*ll does that prove they have "committed" to the Big XII? If they were truly committed - they would stick around and just add replacement teams.

    Enough!

Actual respect would come in the form a deal being struck, some sort of compromise. Instead of power grabs by Texas. Texas does very little for the Big XII. It is about trust - not emotion.
  3. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/22870/nebraska-e-mails-osborne-tressel-met Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne met with Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel on April 19, according to an e-mail Osborne sent to Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman on April 20. ESPN.com colleague Mark Schlabach obtained the e-mail through a records request to Nebraska. "I think it would be a good time if we met sometime soon regarding the expansion landscape," Osborne wrote to Perlman. Not surprising...
  4. Probably just trying to get Nebraska to make the first move or deem that we made the first move. That way the PAC-10 six can avoid the 50% revenue penalty for leaving a dead conference. Also to undercut any leverage. My question: If (and I say 'if') there is an invite to the Big 10. Why stay in the Big XII? Because BB said 'ultimatum' so nice? ---- P.S. It is Warren
  5. Being invited to join the Big 10 would be a huge parlay for the University and the state. Nebraska is 38th in population in the country. The other states in the B10 have at least three times the population (save Iowa). It would be an amazing step. The prestige alone added to University, the Law school, etc. is worth the risk. As for football - the B10 already has a network and would be set to add a title game. With a tie-in to the Rose Bowl (excellent). B10/14 West would possibly include: Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Minn, WI, Illinois, Northwestern vs East: Michigan, MSU, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt Championship played in Indy. Treated as an equal (being asked to join helps). That sounds great. I am hard pressed to see how recruiting would suffer with more money and new exposure in a different part of the country. Heck it may even be an advantage, we've already have established pipelines plus we can pay to keeep Bo and company. And what is the Big XII doing for Nebraska? What can it do? Create a Texas network with the championship game in Dallas - fan-damn-tastic.

  7. Let's say Big 10 picks up ND, Pitt, or Rutgers (?). Pac-10 takes CU Texas stays in the Big 12 What about CSU? Keeps the N/S balance A sizable university with a good Ag school. The stadium is only about 35K. But that could be expanded. Crazy dumb or crazy like a fox?
