I really doubt he wants to play in a 34, so that probably takes Rams out of the discussion. Would love to see him on the 9ers. A lot of talent on that defense, and a team that will be looking to compete next year for sure.

You remember that Gates had an ankle injury during the last part of the 2016 season, right? But we didn't have anyone behind him that was better, injury and all. So he played injured.
And that clip shows All American DE Derek Barnett going up against redshirt sophomore Nick Gates. Barnett went 14th overall in the first round of the NFL draft a couple months later. What exactly would you expect out of that situation? Or are you just parroting the point of that douchenozzle Cole Cubelic in his Tweet with Barnett v. Gates?
Don't you know that if you are a highly touted player at Nebraska(bonus points for oline) and you dont live up to the hype then you are just a giant piece of s#!t that can never do anything right and everyone can talk down on you.

Relieve them of their duties, and continue to "pay" them? Don't tell my employees that's a normal business practice.
You say this but their "boss" gets exactly that, and its in the millions. Not just some free classes.

Give TO 4 number 1 recruiting classes in a row and see how dominant his team would be. Saban has had more success for sure but he also has access to just an insane amount of talent.

Well I'll restate 17 plus. The spread by Vegas is 10. So yes an undefeated team that gets beat in a highly ranked bowl by 17 plus is a woodshed beat down in my Mindset.
Auburn beat Bama by 12 and has played 3/4 playoff teams. Thankfully the playoff selection talking heads had enough sense to understand strength of schedule
and not even consider UCF.
But all Nebraska fans want to believe. I heard several people state, but Memphis beat 6-6 UCLA. Anyone see what Iowa State did to UCLA.?
Not to mention the fact that UCF players running their mouths about SEC speed. Not a good idea to talk trash. Auburn Defense held most teams under 20 points per game.
I like Frost and wanted him hired 3 years ago. He is a winner and I see him making Nebraska respected again. Currently nobody fears Nebraska.
I hope Frost gets the bowl win, but realistically I just don't see it.
If he gets the win then I'll celebrate and be happy. I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong. But SEC is whole different level then AAC UCF.

@KingBlank it's just an easy to digest milestone. Is its technically significant? No, but we could say that about a ton of things if you wanna get pedantic.
Anyone know if there is any truth to him trying to run track now?

Time for us to finally get over that 1k receiving yard season hump. Maybe even with more than one wr

Just wanted to check in and see if the player's were working harder than they ever have and are in the best shape of their lives yet? I think we saw this same work effort and improvement in both 2007 and 2014 as well. I'm hopeful the new S&C coach can yield similar player sentiments this time around.
Dont forget how the new defense is really gonna let the front 7 loose. No more thinking they are just gonna play now.

That defense looked like they had Auburn's playbook. Very excited after watching that game.

He reiterated he wasn't interested in playing OL (why would you, unless you're Baker Steinkuhler and don't like making money..?)
Not to be that guy, but isn't this the exact opposite of what happened to Baker? He was a high 4 star OL prospect and dominated at DT so much in camps that he switched.

This coaching staff is going to actually use tempo, not just talk about it. We are going to need depth at WR and RB with the amount of plays we are running on offense.

Okay coach, who will he start over?
He was making a joke from the Martinez thread I'm pretty sure.

I think he did the morally right thing. I also wonder how Pruitt seems to be snagging kids so quickly. We need to have a big January and my gut is telling me we will have quite a few reaches to close this class out. Hope I am wrong
Tennessee has some sort of Voodoo that allows them to be an absolute s#!t show on and off the field and still constantly pull in recruits. I really dont get it because they are in the bottom tier of blue bloods as far as accomplishments. .

Told Frost and Co has was signing with us today. Did the old guilt and cave to our good friend and quality role model Petrino
Petrino threw in free motorcycle riding lessons at the last minute. We couldn't top it.

I was under the inpression that his lean towards Iowa was more because he prefers to play in a 4-3.

I thought letting them on Gameday seemed a little over the line, but it looks like the only reason for the infraction is because of Herbstreit and George. I doubt OSU sees any kind of real punishment from this.

Did you watch the same Young I did this year? Barry was hit or miss. Last I heard Roberts was really struggling to adjust. There's a big need at ILB.
I think there is plenty of good tape on Young to show that he can be good with the right coaching/motivation. Obviously a lot of bad in there but to me a lot of it seemed like effort and alignment issues. Id also give Roberts more than a single year under a dysfunctional staff to judge him. His high school tape shows a special player.

I feel more relieved than anything with this pickup. We needed at least one commit that could CB in this class.

If he wants early playing time this is the place, there isn't a bigger JUCO need for us than at LB. Geez I hope we can close here.
Dont we really just need more depth at ILB? Wont Young and Roberts/Barry be a pretty good combo at ILB?
Not saying Im not very much wishing to land this guy, because he looks like an absolute stud on film.

You can never have too many QBs. I remember when we told Taylor Martinez he would have a shot a QB. I was pretty sure that we had too many other good ones and he would switch back to DB. The way college football is now, you just gotta get them all on campus and the ones that get buried on the depth chart will just transfer out.

That's a tad disingenuous, though, because there are a lot of things you can look at whether or not you know the scheme well.
I'm not saying they've been terrible or that they haven't gotten a bad rap for some things that may not be their fault.
However, when's the last time we could say Nebraska had the best line in their conference, let alone their division? Certainly not within the last three years. You'd have to go back even further to find a time we could say Nebraska had the best line in a conference. We could probably go page after page determining how much we should blame scheme versus how much we blame the talent, coaches and the fundamentals. The end result is what ultimately matters: Nebraska's lines (offensively and defensively) haven't been consistently great for a long time and there's a correlation between that and their lack of conference titles.
Right, I guess that was a bit of hyperbole on my part. I do agree that(no matter what you want to blame it on) there is something that hasn't been right for a while. Like most things in life it is way more complicated than a single answer can provide, and imo would take a deep dive and some serious film watching to actually know.
In the end I guess it doesn't matter. We have a whole new staff now, and we just need to see if they can cook.

They do look set up to be a top team in that conference for a while now. They are gonna have some QB decisions to make after this year though.
