  1. A guy in the parking garage at work has "MGOBLUE" on his license plate. Do you guys shout "Go Blue" at games or something?
  2. At least he didn't hold hands and sway back and forth to "You Raise Me Up"
  3. This sucks. Way to drop the ball Big "Ten"! The logo sucks. The division names are stupid. The trophies are a disappointment. Why the dual names? Cheapens it.
  4. I hope Nebraska DEMOLISHES Texas. They should have won that Big 12 (-2) Championship last year. Prediction: UNL 41 Texas 17
  5. I really got a gut feeling Michigan's regular season finale will be Michigan-Nebraska
  6. Last Game of the Season. MICHIGAN VS NEBRASKA
  7. The hell with MSU. I could care less about them, If we don't get Michigan-OSU for the last game of their respective seasons I say we break out the torches and pitchforks and head down to the Big Ten HQ. Seriously, if it's that much of a f'ing chore to keep a tradition since 1935 then do the divisions like this: West Iowa Michigan Minnesota Nerbaska Purdue Wisconsin Season Finale games of the West: Iowa v Minnesota (rivalry), Michigan-Nebraska (rivalry), Wisconsin-Purdue or Iowa-Nebraska (Farmageddon), Michigan-Wisconsin (rivlary), Minnesota-Purdue (slight rivalry) East Illinois Indiana Michigan State Northwestern Ohio State Penn State Season Finale Games: Illinois v NW (rivalry), Indiana vs MSU (rivalry), OSU vs PSU (rivlary) I think that would be the ideal divisions and season finale matchups if Michigan-OSU doesn't work out.
  8. Do you think they would split up Mich and Mich State? I was under the impression that was a pretty big rivalry. If they do just one rivalry game across divisions that would be Ohio State and would make the UM vs. MSU not happen on a regular basis. I think this may be the only time I've seen someone split those two teams. If they could do it like this I am all on board. We'd get UM, IA, Wiscy and Minnesota plus PSU as our cross division rivalry game...that would be great for Nebraska. Put NU vs. UM the day after Thanksgiving with OSU vs. PSU that's a heckuva line up for the day after Turkey Day. It may be a big thing in-state, but it means nothing in the national scene, It has no national relevance. It goes Michigan-OSU, Michigan-ND. Hell, Michigan-Wisconsin is more of a rivalry to most of us M fans I would say.
  9. If The Game isn't the last game of the season, then hopefully Michigan-Nebraska would be the last game. It hurts losing The Game at the end of the season but I understand what they mean by playing back-to-back weeks and It'd be cool to see The Game (part II) FOR the Championship. West Iowa Michigan Minnesota Nebraska Purdue Wisconsin East Illinois Indiana Michigan State Northwestern Ohio State Penn State
  10. Finally! I've always wanted to see Nebraska play us in the Big House on a late November Saturday. I look forward to seeing what the Big Ten Network will show on you guys. Anything but that 2005 Alamo Bowl and your game vs Mizzou in 97 of course.
  11. Of course you would, they did pick your team after all. It's all good though, I imagine we would have done the same if the rolls were reversed. At the end of day all we can do is think about what if Michigan played Nebraska in 97. Regardless what anyone thinks what would happen both teams were crowned national champs and had great seasons to remember that year.
  12. another thing about michigan: they actually think they won a national championship in 1997. weird, huh? Well the AP crowned Michigan national champions (12-0) #1. ESPN/Coaches crowned Nebraska national champions (13-0) #1. I'd take the AP poll over any other selectors back before the BCS. Years like 97 is why the BCS was created to ensure there would not be anymore split national championships. Also years like 1984 when #1 BYU played #24 Michigan in the Holiday Bowl...Why in the...ugh
  13. and michigan, and penn state, and ohio state. But it would be kinda nice to have rivalry with Iowa or Wisconsin. I dyin to go Madison for a game, Ive heard its a freakin blast. It would be nice to see Nebraska in the Big House for a game in late November. I don't know about you, but that 1997 National Title "split" BS is still getting to me after all these years and I'd love to see the Huskers and Wolverines duke it out in Ann Arbor or Lincoln every year We already duked that out in '05, remember? But in all seriousness, I think Michigan and Nebraska would be natural rivals. Nothing to really compare to the Michigan - tOSU game, but still an interesting match-up. Oh yeah I remember the ending of that 05 game too tragic. "Of course! Lateral the ball to the tight-end with his blazing speed" Still hurts

  15. Welcome to HuskerBoard. Hope you'll stick around and contribute more. Always nice to get an outsider's perspective. Hopefully the Huskers come to the Big "Ten" It's looking that way, isn't it? I'm not opposed to it myself. I'd love to visit The Big House and The Horse Shoe among other places in the Big Ten. Should be fun to watch in the coming years if it comes to fruition. Perhaps a Nebraska vs Iowa rivalry would emerge? Farm State Rivalry More like the Corn Belt rivalry. I like it! lol If all happens right, then this would be a pretty interesting decade of Big "Ten" football.

  18. I really hope this expansion happens and you guys come to the Big Ten. I would love to see Nebraska in the Big House and Michigan at Lincoln. In a perfect world in my mind the Big "Ten" gets Nebraska, Mizzou, Notre Dame, Syracuse. Once they get four they'll most likely opt for Pitt which would be great to see the Penn State vs Pitt rivalry get reignited. Do you guys out in Huskerland get the Big Ten Network? It's pretty nice and it would be interesting to see some new teams get on there with some classic games from their past season. Because quite frankly, I'm effing tired of seeing re-runs of teams spring games because of the lack of new ideas on BTN
  19. Michigan fan here. I'm going to try to be as unbiased as I can here. Let me attempt to review the fan bases on MY personal experiences with them. Illinois- The Illini fans I've met when they came to the Big House in 08 were fine. BUT when I made the trip to Champagne in '07 and '09. a$$hole$. They get a lead in the game and they'll be a$$hole$ until you take it back. They were ESPECIALLY asses in '07 when they had that rare Rose Bowl year. Illinois fans are okay when the Illini are having an awful season, but when they start winning they turn bad. A majority seem to hate Michigan for some strange reason but then again what other teams fan base doesn't? lol Indiana- Not much to say here. IU has sucked. Always have. Always will. Basketball school Iowa- Iowa fans are actually not that bad at all. I've been to Iowa City numerous times and win or lose, they were classy people. They stick by their team win of lose. But you don't beat Iowa at Kinnick in the fall at night. (See Penn State 08) Michigan State- These people love to drink and hate Michigan. I can understand hating them hating us for Michigan beating up on their team for years. They do get extremely annoying when they are doing somewhat decent during the season. I remember many times MSU had a 4-0 record going into the game vs Michigan and their fans talking tons of crap, Michigan beats them, MSU goes into a downward spiral from until the end of the season and calls for their coaches head. It was especially funny their fans heckling me at the 07 game when we lost to App that year. And Michigan beating MSU 28-24 and not hearing a word from them. Minnesota- Nice group of people. They know that their team is not in the top of the Big Ten but they stick by them. Northwestern- When NW has decent seasons their fans get cocky and start talking like their team is the defending BCS champs until the next time you play Northwestern, you bury them, and their fans go back to being silent. More of an academic school BY FAR. Although NW football had a nice season last year and nearly beat an SEC team. Ohio State- I understand there might be some good fans of OSU but the ones I've had encounters with were pieces of trash. Just like every team has the good fans and the a-hole fans. Maybe they only act this way for Michigan fans, I don't know. Once a Buckeye fan yelled F*CK right in my 7 year old sons face. I've had bottles thrown at me and my two friends in Columbus. Tires slashed, window busted out and food thrown on the hood of my car before (This happened all different visits) On our local news channels they actually tell people who are going down there to the game a list of SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. Now maybe it's just me, but NOBODY should fear attending a f*cking football game! These people are genuine DOUCHEBAGS. Penn State- They know how to have a hell of a tailgate up in State College, PA. I haven't had one bad experience with PSU fans. Purdue- Can't really say much with Purdue fans. Never been to West Lafayette but the Purdue fans came in very limited numbers to the games at the Big House Wisconsin- These guys are loud as hell and make Camp Randall one hell of homefield advantage. Nice fans I've met from there. Not really anything bad to say about Big Red (Badger version)
