  1. Pretty lame post. He could have proof read this, but in the meantime, you should become an English teacher so you don't have to be an unpaid grammar policeman.Pretty lame response. We don't all have time to get lost in a book, Waldo.
  2. Specialists bump us a little, but without them just four guys listed among top four all-conference teams: Chris Jones, 1st CB DPE, 1st PR Nick Gates, 2nd OL Drew Brown, 3rd K Aaron Williams, 3rd S Stanley Morgan, 4th All Purpose Tre Bryant, 4th KR By contrast, tOSU has seven on 1st O&D. Not counting specialists we have more on the top four teams than: Illinois, MSU, Purdue & Rutgers. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/big-ten-football-2017-all-conference-team
  3. IF we take a RB this year, they will only take a really good one. Their top 3 are TJ Pledger (trying to pull him from OU), Sallahudin, and Keontae Ingram. If they don't get one of those high caliber players they will not take a RB in this class. Is Roberts considered "really good" and they'd take him or is he out now and it's top three or bust?
  4. I don't think we take two RBs, but other than that I think you're pretty spot on. Maybe one more DB.
  5. Thanks Mav! Appreciate all the effort you put into keeping this board alive.
  6. How about an "other" choice with a blank to fill in? Then people can manually write "Utah State" and laugh all the way to victory. I get that some people enjoy the game and that's fine. But the purpose of this board is to share knowledge about recruits. And to bitch about each other incessantly.
  7. Dear Mods, Can we start one single thread where people playing the game ask to add schools to each guy? One thread. All asks. Will keep the game separate from the actual recruiting threads and their updates, "insights" and terrible predictions ;-) More guys getting bumped here that we aren't in on. Thanks for the consideration, Mods. Sincerely, Get Off My Lawn
  8. Risky, but you have to believe GG will feel awfully flattered. Hopefully it's enough. I would rather not rely on the flattery a 16 year old kid feels in regards to how to operate a collegiate football team. Dude, You and I have no clue how to operate a collegiate football team. But, I do know that part of recruiting is making a recruit feel WANTED. Nothing says we want you more than, Hey, we aren't taking a QB in 2018 and you are the only offer we have out for 2019. Enough said. Tell that to Nick Saban that started a RS freshman at QB in the National Championship and still signed 2 4 star QB's in 2017. This type of flattery will bite teams. Only the best teams know that and sign QB's every year. Ohio St has 4 QB's ahead of their 2018 5 star QB. Didn't stop them. Clemson signed a 5 star QB in 2017 and has a commitment from another in 2018 I could list more but you get the point. You don't skip on QB's in any class anymore. I'm not saying we should skip one, but I trust coach riley more than I do your advice. It's not advice. It's an opinion based on the fact that much better teams than Nebraska don't skip on QB's. We offered a kicker a scholarship but he's going to wait until 2019 for a QB? Sorry. That's not a solid plan. See how you feel when we need a 47 yard kick to win the game against Wisconsin or something like that. See how you feel when your QB gets you in range for a 17 yard kick to win the game.
  9. Show me a single 2* we are recruiting on either side of the line? Few and far between but Chris Walker was a 2*, at least according to rivals.I thought walker got a slight bump as soon as he signed to get him to 3* 2* means he was not evaluated! That would mean every high school player is at least a 2* Rivals rated him 5.4. "5.4-5.0 Division I prospect; considered a mid-major prospect; deemed to have limited pro potential but definite Division I prospect; may be more of a role player." Sorry for the derail.

  11. Is it just me or would God want his name spelled out? Is he really just a G?
  12. Yeah, but the comments on his other leaders - I don't think we're even in the running. Kid's good at PR though.Funny that he singled out KW as the best WR coach... Got some splainin to do with his next position coach if he chooses elsewhere!
  13. Gunnell is not stating that a 2018 QB is an issue - it is actually us not wanting one if we get Gunnell. Agree that elite teams take a QB each cycle - however elite teams don't have holes in depth that we do. Fact is this will be a small class and we are going to grab mostly 4* players - fixing depth issues will be our #1 priority. Not taking a 18 QB will also help us hold on to the 3 QB's that we currently have - since there will be no one to pass them on the chart. To be fair, you don't have a clue as to what will keep a QB here in 2018. Regardless if we bring in another QB or not. Plus, there is no guarantee Gunnell becomes a Husker at all. He still has 2 whole seasons of HS to play before he even steps foot on campus at NU. i would rather take my chances of being a bit thinner at another position and take a QB every year.Agree. We skip this year and POB or Tristan come out of next spring third on the depth chart and one decides to transfer, we have just two, with one a senior and the other would compete with Gunnel as a true frosh for starting job the next year. Slim pickings. I wish we could skip one with our numbers but I think it's more important to get one this year than next.
  14. Will be interesting to see how much he grows in the weight program. Kids already huge.
  15. Judging by the pic with Bray we are recruiting him at OLB.
  16. It'd be interesting to know how many guys didn't come because it was Easter, and how many did because it was Easter and they had Good Friday off of school. I'm sure McShane's got a feel for that. Next year Easter is April 1 so I doubt it comes into play.
  17. Does Riley feel like a better recruiter, with classes that appear to be trending up? Yes. Are his full class average numbers at DONU similar so far? Yes. Are we all rooting for Riley's classes to be better? Yes! Is it time to move on from this argument? Yes! Yes! Yes!
