  1. Only a one year pistseason ban to be served this year. Additionally we loat 3 scholarships per year for three years. So beginning this year we are limited to 82 scholarship players for 3 seasons.
  2. Yes, if you go to the varsity club on lane av. There is an osu store there with everything ohio state. College Traditions is the name of the store right next to the Varsity Club. Conrad's is another OSU apparel/gift shop nearby on Lane Avenue. You will also find temporary vendors along Lane, and several shops on High Street, but the two previously mentioned are the most central to the gameday party scene on Lane Avenue.
  3. May picked OSU to beat MSU last week and Buckeye fans everywhere were shocked. There is no other analyst anywhere who has seemed to hate our Buckeyes more that Mark May. Most of our fans feel that he is still bitter about the 72-0 curb-stomping our team put on Pitt back in 1996.
  4. You can count me as another Buckeye that could give some advice to traveling Huskers. ATL, A great safe place to take your daughter prior to the game is to Skull Session, which is a pep rally/final warm up for the OSU Marching Band prior to the game. Admission is free and Skull Session starts a little more that two hours prior to kickoff, but you have to get there early to get good seats. The Buckeye team also makes a brief appearance at Skull Session on their way to the stadium. I'd suggest getting there by about 5:00 if you want good seats. If your daughter is in her High School Buckeye fans have developed a bad reputation as hosts for visiting fans, but that all really peaked in 2002. The atmosphere for visiting fans has really improved a lot in the last decade, and I have heard a lot of positive reviews from visiting fans in recent years. That said, particularly for a night game, there are still drunks to avoid. I would advise staying away from High Street and Lane Avenue as it gets closer to game time. High Street is the main North-South Street on the east side of campus with lots of shops, restaurants, and bars, and off campus student housing just beyond. Lane Avenue, has several open-air gated, parties/bashes with lots of alcohol available. You can check these areas out in the early afternoon, but the closer it gets to game time, the more obnoxious drunks you will find. If your looking for a tailgate, I'd suggest west of campus on the west side of the river. This is also the furthest from most student housing, minimizing the number of drunken frat-guy types. Since 2002 the cops have been cracking down and enforcing Ohio's open container laws, so if you choose to consume at OSU, the red solo cup truly is your friend. I hope you enjoy your trip, and I'm sure it will be great crossing the Shoe off of your bucket list. I think you'll find it to be one of the best College Football Cathedrals in the country.
  5. I'm hearing on Buckeye sites that Nebraska will is currently OSU's biggest competition for McMullen... The DE class in Ohio is flat out ridiculous. I gave you this rundown a while back, but there are further names that need to be added... Adolphis Washington – Cincinnati Taft - OSU Offer Chris Wormley – Toledo Whitmer - OSU Offer, will be an OSU - M*ch*gan battle Greg McMullen – Akron Hoban - OSU Offer Tom Strobel – Mentor - Offers from Notre Dame, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Stanford, Northwestern, Purdue, Cincinnati, and Pitt LaTroy Lewis – Akron Hoban - OSU Offer Sevon Pittman – Canton McKinley OSU Offer New names that have popped up: Ifeadi Odenigbo - Centerville - OSU Offer Pharoah Brown - Lyndhurst Brush - offers from M*ch*gan, Arizona State, and Syracuse, could be recruited as a TE, I think he has said he prefers offense Bryan Cox Jr. - Avon - offers from North Carolina and Kent State OSU does not usually throw out a lot of scholarship offers and we don't have room for a big class, so those with an OSU offer are absolutely legit and I'm too lazy to look up who else they have offers from. I am actually a little surprised we have offered this many of these guys alraeady. I only expect us to have room for 4-5 DL and that is stretching a bit only because this is such a great class in Ohio. McMullen may be a high priority for OSU as he perhaps is most able to move down to DT. Not sure if Nebraska will get in on any of these other guys, but with Pelini's Ohio ties, I would be surprised if he does not try.
  6. 2012 will be a great year to try and steal a DE out of Ohio. This Ohio class is absolutely stacked at the position. The buckeye boards are talking about 6 legitimate candidates for OSU offers... Adolphis Washington – Cincinnati Taft Chris Wormley – Toledo Whitmer Greg McMullen – Akron Hoban Tom Strobel – Mentor LaTroy Lewis – Akron Hoban Sevon Pittman – Canton McKinley I've seen a couple evaluators saying they can't decide between Washington and Wormley as the #1 prospect for Ohio in the class. They along with McMullen are rumored to have verbal offers from OSU. There is no way OSU can take all six, so it will be interesting to see who leaves, and where they go.
